What’s Coming in Season 7?
This is the first time they are bringing the seasonal realm to the PTR. They are bringing back Seasonal “Borrowed Powers” in Season 7.
Learning Witchcraft
Witchcraft enables you as a practitioner to call upon the power of the swamp to call your bidding. The Headrotten are your enemies that spawn from the Tree of Whispers. You’re going to slay them and collect Restless Rot. This is the currency for Season 7.
Witches will be residing near the Tree of Whispers. You will make an offering at the altar allowing you to learn Witchcraft.
You can Equip powers in the Witchraft menu. You have an inventory at the bottom and drag the power at the top. You will have 5 normal slots and one unique power for special witchcraft. You can upgrade your witchcraft directly in the inventory using Restless Rot.
Witchcraft Rewards
Collect Coven’s Favor from Whispers. In order to advance Coven’s Favor, you must complete Whispers. The reputation grind also unlocks new Witchcraft to learn!
Discover Forgotten Altars in the dungeon across Sanctuary to learn the lost powers.
Witchcraft Powers
About 20 Witchcraft Powers are coming in Patch 2.1! Here are some of them.
Headhunts
Whispers have intensified as the Tree searches for Headrotten. These are subzone takeovers like Helltides with a ton of Headrotten for you to kill.
Occult Gems
The Tree of Whispers will give you Occult Gems! These are season-only socketables. They all have Defense built into them by default.
Tree of Whisper Updates
They’ve updated the town near the Tree of Whispers by adding some more services to it. They’ve changed the layout to make it more convenient to navigate. They’ve added Ancestral Caches to the Tree of Whispers.
Quality of Life Updates
- All Seasonal Paragon will be transferred over to your Eternal Paragon, so if you want to earn rewards at Paragon 300, you can do so by participating in seasons.
- Unique power roll updates that reduce the probability to get crappy 4 GA items.
- Ancestral Legendaries will always drop on the top-end rank of the legendary power. Baseline drop rate has been increased for Ancestral Legendaries. All Torments will get this increase.
- They are adding a sink for gem fragments.
- Class quest updates are coming. Rewards unlock at the gated level.
Armory
The Armor gives you the option to Save, Load, and Name your favorite builds. Armory Loadout slots are Character bound. Changing between Loadout slots with differing Paragon loadouts does not cost gold. The Armory can be accessed through Sanctuary, Citadel, Tree of Whispers, and Training Areas!
PTR Updates
The 2.1 PTR will have Account Copy available to take your Account data and Characters and copy that data to use on the PTR.
PTR Boost Additions include Season 7 Uniques, Witchcraft Powers, Witchcraft Progression items.
A blog post detailing Season 7 is coming after the stream. Patch notes are coming next week on November 27.
Q&A
- All PTR content will be available on Day 1.
- They are looking to build upon the events of Vessel of Hatred with every season. We’re going to see changes in the world.
- They need to look at alts to encourage alt gameplay. Veiled Crystals are currently an alt-blocker, and they appreciate the feedback and will look into the issue.
- XP wells will be looked into.
- No plans for pets to pick up loot faster.
- The planned Summon update will be a big boost for all classes.
- When you save a loadout in the Armory, they favorite all items. It won’t happen that you sell the items by accident. All items used in loadouts will have a separate icon.
