<p>Only 3 classes are currently represented in the top runs, according to <em><a href="https://helltides.com/pit">Helltides</a></em>&#8216; data. We&#8217;ve seen no recorded runs for the Rogue, Sorceress, and Spiriborn just yet.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Necromancer Tier 130 Run</h2>



<p>In the first place, we&#8217;ve got VegaDiablo&#8217;s Pit Tier 130 run with their Necromancer which took 13 minutes and 46 seconds to complete.</p>

<p>Lagging 20 tiers behind the top Necro run, we&#8217;ve got Beatdropper and their Tier 110 Barbarian run that took 5 minutes and 57 seconds.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Druid&#8217;s Tier 100 Run</h2>



<p>Finally, we&#8217;ve got deilfix with the highest-recorded Druid run so far. The player cleared a Pit Tier 100 in 6 minutes and 52 seconds, playing a <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/the-ultimate-druid-is-cataclysm-the-best-build-of-season-7/">Cataclysm Druid</a>.</p>

Diablo 4 Season 7: Top 3 Pit Tier Rankings


<p>Nightmare Dungeons in D4 have undergone changes in recent seasons, leading some players to question their usefulness before reaching Level 60. While their primary role in leveling glyphs has shifted to <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/the-pit-of-the-artificers-guide/">the Pit</a>, they still offer benefits that improve the leveling experience.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Benefits of Running Nightmare Dungeons Before Level 60</h2>



<ol>
<li><em><strong>Glyph Acquisition</strong></em> &#8211; Even though glyph leveling is now done in the Pit, Nightmare Dungeons remain a reliable source for acquiring new glyphs.</li>



<li><strong><em>Forgotten Altars and Seasonal Powers</em></strong>—Nightmare Dungeons contain Forgotten Altars, which grant Lost Witchcraft Powers, which are important for many builds in Season 7.</li>



<li><strong><em>Experience and Loot</em></strong> &#8211; While not necessarily the fastest leveling method, Nightmare Dungeons still provide good XP and rewards.</li>



<li><strong><em>Seasonal Objectives</em></strong> &#8211; Some Season Journey objectives require players to complete Nightmare Dungeons. Running them sporadically ensures you&#8217;re not missing out on some of the requirements.</li>
</ol>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Should Nightmare Dungeons Be Prioritized?</h2>



<p>You don&#8217;t need to prioritize Nightmare Dungeons over more efficient leveling methods such as Tree of Whispers or Helltides. However, incorporating them occasionally into your leveling routine won&#8217;t hurt.</p>



<p>While NMDs are not a mandatory part of leveling, they still serve as a useful supplementary activity for gathering glyphs, unlocking seasonal powers, and completing <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/latest-season-journey-for-diablo-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">the journey</a>.</p>

Why Nightmare Dungeons Are Still Useful for Leveling in Diablo 4


<p>Diablo 4 players are frustrated with barrier buffs to enemies instead of increasing their health. Many feel this change drags out battles without adding meaningful challenge.</p>



<p>On Reddit, user <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/-Rhialto-/">-Rhialto-</a> voiced their dissatisfaction, saying:</p>



<p><em>&#8220;A barrier on every mob looks like a cheap way to add difficulty.&#8221;</em></p>

<p>Many players believe these changes impact early-game characters the most, speculating that the issue might lessen once they reach Level 60 and unlock more Paragon points. However, for now, the community is searching for the most effective ways to break through these barriers quickly and urges Blizzard to reconsider the design choice.</p>


Diablo 4 Players Frustrated Over Barrier Buffs: “Just Makes Fights Longer”


<p>Season 7 of Diablo 4, the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/witchcraft-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Season of Witchcraft</a>, comes with some big changes to the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/latest-season-journey-for-diablo-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Season Journey</a>! If you have not completed your journey yet or are just curious about what is new, here is everything you need to know about the differences this time around and what challenges and rewards await.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Has Changed for This Season&#8217;s Journey?</h2>



<p><strong>A Tougher Final Chapter but No Uber Bosses<br></strong>The final chapter of this season&#8217;s journey is a bit more complex than what we have seen before. However, unlike previous seasons, the two fan-favorite bosses Duriel and Andariel are not required for completion of the last chapter. Instead, the focus has switched to new challenges and objectives. You can now pick which of the Lair Bosses you defeat, instead of being forced to focus on the 2 &#8216;Uber Bosses&#8217;. Some of the chapter changes might feel tedious, but they help keep things fresh for both veterans and newcomers alike.</p>



<p><strong>Class Archetype Caches<br></strong>One of the more interesting changes this season is the addition of Class Archetype Caches as rewards. These caches offer gear and items specific to the class you complete the chapter with, making them especially useful if you complete the chapters early on in your leveling journey.</p>



<p><strong>Dorian the Raven, a New Companion<br></strong>Completing the entire Season Journey will reward you with Dorian the Raven, an exclusive pet. Not only does Dorian look amazing, but it&#8217;s also a great way to show off your hard work this season.</p>



<p><strong>Torment IV for the Final Chapter<br></strong>As mentioned earlier, the final chapter this season brings a significant challenge: most objectives must now be completed on <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/world-tier-difficulty/#torment_difficulties" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Torment IV difficulty</a>. While this may not sound daunting to some players, it will be a higher bar for many, as it demands better optimization and gear compared to previous Season Journeys. On the bright side, it&#8217;s a great incentive to fine-tune your build and improve your skills as you push toward completing these tougher objectives.</p>

Season 7 of Diablo 4 Brings Big Changes to the Season Journey!


<p>It&#8217;s time to take a look at all the Witchcraft powers players can get their hands on, and one that actually can&#8217;t at the moment! So if you&#8217;re looking for Hex of Whispers, it&#8217;s currently unavailable. The powers also got some tuning in the patch notes, which we&#8217;ve incorporated below as well. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Do They Work and How Many Are There?</h2>



<p>There are 25 powers to grab in Season 7, split into four Witchcraft schools, Eldricht (with 7 powers), Psychhe (7), Growth and Decay (7), and Lost (4). You can actually wield 6 of them, 5 regular ones, and one Unique. The first three schools you can simply learn from the altars at the Tree of Whispers for Restless Rot, the seasonal currency. The <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/how-to-get-lost-witchcraft-powers/">Lost school </a>you&#8217;ll have to find Forbidden Altars to add, which spawn in dungeons or the Pit. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Eldritch Powers</h3>

<p><strong>Firebat Servants</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>A deadly swarm of Firebats swarm enemies every 3 seconds, inflicting 20% total Fire damage over 1 total attack.</li>



<li>At Higher Ranks: Enemies are Stunned for 3 seconds after being hit 5 times by your Firebat Servants.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Abyssal Resonance</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Every 250 Resource spent, release an explosion dealing 400% Shadow damage. Each explosion triggered within 10 seconds of the last increases the size and damage by 130%. Stacking up to 3 times.</li>



<li>Frequency is now limited to a maximum of every 2 seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: The third explosion pulls enemies towards you before detonating.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Wave of Woe</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Release a Wave of Woe when damaging an enemy with your skills. Wave of Woe deals an additional X Shadow damage and echoes this damage to all other nearby enemies of the same type.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: Damage is increased by 15% each time damage is echoed and is guaranteed to echo at least 5 times. May strike the same target multiple times.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Purging Touch</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Eldritch Effects X increased damage against Headrotten.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: This damage bonus now extends to all monsters.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Shaken Soul</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Eldritch Effects apply Vulnerable to enemies for X seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: Damage from Psyche and Growth &amp; Decay Effects will also apply Vulnerable at half the duration.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Hex of Flames</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Lucky Hit: You have up to an X chance to apply Hex of Flames. Hex of Flames deals 40% additional Fire damage each time you deal damage to the target.</li>



<li>Frequency per target is now limited to a maximum of 5 per second.</li>



<li>At Rank 7: Hex of Flames explodes dealing damage to all nearby enemies when you land a Critical Strike.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Doom Orb</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>An ominous orb of pure Eldritch energy circles you, damaging any enemy it touches for 400% Fire damage. Doom Orb may launch itself at distant enemies before returning.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: Kills or damage to Bosses empower the orb’s damage by 5%. After 100%, the orb explodes dealing 5,200 damage to nearby enemies before reforming 3 seconds later.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Psyche Powers</h3>



<p><strong>Life Link</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Automatically link your life force with up to 3 nearby enemies. X of the damage you take is shared with the linked targets as physical damage. Cannot Life Link to enemy Players.</li>



<li>At Rank 15: For 10 seconds after using a Defensive, Macabre of Subterfuge Skill, any linked damage will be a guaranteed Critical Strike.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Hex of Shattering</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Damage done by your Witchcraft Effects afflicts enemies with Hex of Shattering causing them to deal X reduced damage for 5 seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 8: When any Hex Effect is applied to Headrotten, all damage will be guaranteed Critical Strikes for 5 seconds.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Aura of Misfortune</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Enemies near you have X chance for their attacks to be interrupted. Does not work on bosses.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: Aura of Misfortune increases your Movement Speed by 5% and Slows enemies by 30%.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Aura of Lament</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>When you first strike an enemy, it is afflicted with an Aura of Lament that Slows it and other nearby enemies by 70%. For each enemy inside Aura of Lament, you gain 3 Primary Resource each second. If the initial enemy dies, Aura of Lament is passed onto another nearby enemy retaining the duration. Lasts X seconds.</li>



<li>Only 1 enemy may be afflicted at a time. May only occur every 30 seconds.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Vengeful Spirit</strong></p>

<li>Every 19 Seconds, a Vengeful Spirit Servant appears for X seconds. While active, all damage taken is instead taken by the spirit. Vengeful Spirit Servant deals 750% damage.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: When the Vengeful Spirit’s Life is fully depleted, it rushes towards up to 8 enemies dealing 2,000 Shadow damage.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Twilight Warding</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Every X seconds, gain a Barrier for 5 seconds absorbing 100 damage.</li>



<li>At Rank 12: Twilight Warding reflects enemy projectiles while active.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Growth &amp; Decay Powers</h3>



<p><strong>Poison Frog Servant</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Summon a Poison Frog Servant that attacks and Poisons enemies for 400% damage over 3 seconds. On death, the frog explodes violently dealing X Poison instantly damage to nearby enemies. This explosion will always Critically Strike.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: Poison Frog attacks will pull enemies towards itself and Taunt enemies for 1 second.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Soul Harvest</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Feed upon the life force of nearby enemies whenever you use a skill with a cooldown, increasing your primary stat by 3% per monster for X seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 9: Soul Harvest does not lose duration so long as enemies are nearby.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Hex of Whispers</strong> (Currently not available due to bug. Was removed <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-season-7-hotfixes-january-22nd/">in this hotfix</a> and will return.)</p>



<ul>
<li>Dealing damage to an enemy afflicts them with Hex of Whispers that deals X Shadow damage the next time damage is dealt. Afterwards, Hex of Whispers will jump to another enemy up to a maximum of 6 times. Hex of Whispers may only be applied once every 5 seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 7: After bouncing onto 6 enemies, the hex bounces back to you granting 15% Fortify and removing all crowd control and negative status effects.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Decay Augmentation</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Your Witchcraft Effects deal X of the damage dealt over 5 seconds. The damage type is based on your class.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: When your damage-over-time effects exceed 85% of the target’s total Life, they immediately die.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Grow</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>After casting an Ultimate Skill, your Servants, Minions, and Companions are empowered with dark magics. Growing larger in size and dealing X bonus damage. Lasts 15 seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 11: Your Servants, Minions and Companions gain 100% Critical Strike Chance while enlarged.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Aura of Siphoning</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Conjure an aura of decay that deals 80% Poison damage to enemies every second.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: Each time Aura of Siphoning deals damage, you are healed for 1% of Maximum Life.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>The Cycle</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Dealing any damage with your skills has a 15% chance to grow a flower from the ground. When an enemy is near, the flower deals X Poison damage to that enemy over 5 seconds. If an ally is near, the flower Heals for 6% Maximum Life. The flower withers away after use. A flower may grow once every 2 <s>5</s> seconds per enemy.</li>



<li>Frequency limit per target increased from 5 to 2 seconds.</li>



<li>Frequency is now limited to a maximum of 3 a second.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: The damage and healing affects all enemies or allies near the flower.</li>

<p><strong>Breath of the Coven</strong></p>

<li>Dealing damage or applying a Crowd Control effect with any of your Witchcraft Effects increases your Attack Speed by X for 10 Seconds, stacking once per unique Witchcraft Effect.</li>



<li>Witchcraft Effects are Eldritch, Psyche, and Growth &amp; Decay.</li>



<li>At Rank 8: Gain 40% Lucky Hit chance while bonuses from Eldritch, Psyche, Growth &amp; Decay are active at once.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Hex Specialization</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Increase the potency of your Hex Effects by X.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: Increase the Critical Strike Chance by 10% against enemies afflicted by your Hex Effects.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Aura Specialization</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>The size of your Aura Effects are increased by X.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: Increase the Critical Strike Damage by 50% against enemies inside your Aura Effects.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Piranhado</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>When an enemy is afflicted by both a Hex and an Aura Effect, a Piranhado is summoned pulling enemies towards it and dealing X Physical damage over 12 seconds. May occur once every 20 seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: Piranhado moves itself towards nearby enemies.</li>

All Witchcraft Powers in Diablo 4 Season 7 and How To Get Them


<p>An interesting question was posed over on r/diablo4, as a players wondered why exactly there were three separate altars for the same Witchcraft powers at the Tree of Whispers. </p>



<p>As you may have noticed, the Tree of Whispers is host to three separate Altars of Witchcraft. Each has the Witchcraft powers available and players have been running around all three thinking that there may be different ones offered at the different altars. There&#8217;s even one that shimmers seemingly at random! </p>

<p>Well, as you&#8217;ll know if you&#8217;ve ever checked them, they are in fact all the same. So why would there be three?</p>



<p>Well, as <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Winter_Ad_2618/">Winter_Ad_2618</a> helpfully explains, the three altars represent the three Witchcraft schools, Eldricht, Phsyche, and Growts and Decay. They also each held the powers of their respective school back on the Public Test Realm, but it seems some players were confused by this and didn&#8217;t know where to find them. And so it seems Blizzard just put all the powers on all the altars! They then left them in because, well, they look nice and add to the atmosphere. But why exactly they didn&#8217;t remove the power-buying functionality from them is a little strange. </p>

Why Are There Three Witchcraft Altars at the Tree of Whispers?


<p>With Season 7 now live, Blizzard are inviting players to try Diablo 4 and it&#8217;s expansion class, the Spiritborn for free! A free Battle.net trial has started and runs through January 28th. </p>

Diablo 4 Season 7 Hotfixes: January 22nd


<p>Leveling up quickly in Season 7 is all about efficiency and knowing which activities to focus your time on. Maybe you are starting this season a little later on the weekend, or you already started with your main but are interested in leveling another character; either way, we have compiled a list with everything you need to know to get started on your leveling journey:</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Skip the Campaign</h3>



<p>If you have already completed the campaign once on your account before (including <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/vessel-of-hatred-overview/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Vessel of Hatred</a>, if you own it), use the &#8220;Skip Campaign&#8221; option. This lets you jump straight into <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/diablo-4-latest-season/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">seasonal content</a> and activities without having to replay the story.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Start on Normal, Adjust as You Go</h3>



<p>Begin on <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/world-tier-difficulty/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Normal difficulty</a>, and if things feel too easy around Level 15, switch to Hard for the extra XP. Do not rush into higher tiers, only move up when your gear and build are strong enough. It is better to stay fast and efficient than to struggle with tougher enemies for slightly increased rewards.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Seasonal Activities</h3>



<p>Pick up the season questline as soon as possible to unlock Coven&#8217;s Favor (this season&#8217;s reputation system). Completing season quests will reward you with Restless Rot, with which you can get <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/witchcraft-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Witchcraft Powers</a> and <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/occult-gems-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Occult Gems</a>. Focus on:</p>



<ul>
<li><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/headhunts-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Headhunt Zones</a> for fast-paced XP and seasonal rewards.</li>



<li>Whispers of the Dead within Headhunt Zones for even more rewards.</li>



<li>Roothold mini-dungeons if you need a break. (Tip: Skip the end boss if your build struggles with single-target damage.)</li>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Small Buffs Add Up</h3>

<li>Always have a Pet active to collect materials for you automatically.</li>



<li>Hire a Mercenary to help with damage and survivability. 
<ul>
<li>If you have never unlocked Mercenaries, start by completing the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/mercenaries-guide/#how_to_unlock_mercenaries" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mercenary questline</a> first. If you unlocked them in a previous season, you can simply teleport to the Den in Nahantu and hire your chosen Mercenaries.</li>
</ul>
</li>



<li>Use Elixirs for bonus XP. These unlock at Level 10 and provide a 5-8% XP boost, depending on the type.</li>



<li>Smoldering Ashes should be invested into the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/season-blessings-in-diablo-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Seasonal Blessing</a> for bonus XP first to maximize leveling speed.</li>
</ul>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Keep an Eye on Your Season Journey</h3>



<p>Check your <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/latest-season-journey-for-diablo-4/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Season Journey</a> progression every now and then. Chapters 1-3 are filled with objectives that you can easily complete while leveling, so you can earn rewards as you go.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Plan for Torment 1 at Level 50-60</h3>



<p>Once you hit Level 50, you will want to transition into <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/world-tier-difficulty/#torment_difficulties" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Torment Difficulty</a> (T1). Before switching, make sure your gear is upgraded and tempered, as enemies will hit much harder! Tempering your gear with the right affixes can make all the difference!</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Class Specialization Quests?</h3>



<p>If you are feeling nostalgic (or just want extra rewards), you can redo your Class Quest; but it is optional if you have already completed it in a previous season. However, in some cases, the class specialization does not unlock immediately unless you first log in with the same class on the Eternal Realm. Many players have reported that their seasonal character&#8217;s class mechanic only became available after logging in with a character of the same class who had previously completed the quest on the Eternal Realm.</p>

They offer great rewards, fast XP, and plenty of seasonal fun. Even if speed is not your primary goal, focusing on seasonal mechanics like <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/witchcraft-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Witchcraft Powers</a> and <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/occult-gems-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Occult Gems</a> will give you a nice power boost so you can slay more monsters and enjoy everything else Season 7 has in store!</p>
