- The livestream kicked off with the Spiritborn gameplay trailer. With their strong connection to the spirit realm, the new class seems like a blend of Monk + Witch Doctor.

- The animation team studied martial arts and selected the best elements to animate the Spiritborn.
Spiritborn Gameplay
- The Spiritborn is a Dexterity-based class.
- They are the fastest and most aggressive class in Diablo 4. They have several high-damage movement skills.
- The Spiritborn have multiple spirits at their disposal.
- The Jaguar is an aggressive spirit creating constant pressure on the battlefield.
- Rushing Claws (Jaguar skill) works like Monk’s dash which you can use multiple times to strike enemies.
- The Hunter is the Jaguar Ultimate skill.
- The core fantasy of the Gorilla spirit is protection/damage reduction.
- Gorilla skills include Crushing Hands, Payback.
- The Protector creates a barrier on the battlefield, great for Bruiser builds.
- You can also pick the Eagle.
- One of the most unique spirit guardians is the centipede.
- It represents the abstract concept of the cycle of life. It is about inescapable persistence.
- A quick example is Stinger, the core skill for the centipede, it deals damage to enemies in front of you.
- Another skill example is Scourge, it takes the oppressive control of the centipede.
- The Devourer is the Ultimate who brings out a centipede that wreaks havoc and poisons everything.
- The Spiritborn is about mix and matching it to fit your playstyle.

Community Q&A
Now’s the time to answer some burning questions about the Spiritborn!
- Where have the Spiritborn been in Diablo? Lore-wise, the Spiritborn are like Invincible in WoW, they don’t want to be seen. They are secluded and have been hiding in the jungle.
- What’s the difference between the Spiriborn and Druid? When it comes to the Spiritborn, you are not necessarily turning into animals. The spirit guardian lives in a spirit realm and we’re talking about the manifestation that comes out.
- Are there any other spirit guardians that were considered potentially? They played around with other concepts like the elephant which conveys protection and family the most, but ultimately, they ended up with the gorilla.
- How does the resource work? Do they regenerate it passively? Vigor does not inherently regenerate passively, but you will regenerate it with your attacks.
- The Spiritborn does not have any ties with the Witch Doctor from D3.
- The Spitirborn is very different from the Monk. It goes in its own direction when it comes to martial arts and redefines its own space.
- The Spiritborn class will be available for play at Gamescom.
