We have another huge salvage/crafting/gambling session to enjoy!
A Bit of History
Mythic uniques are getting less and less rare, but they’re still the rarest drop in the game. Most players will possibly see one or two in their playtime. But for streamers and content creators, it’s a little different. And for Rob… well, it’s a LOT different. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Barbarian aficionado hunt for a Mythic Unique with a specific roll either. Last time it was a Greater Affix Shako that was being crafted, and that one took a colossal 69 salvaged Mythics and an insane amount of additional resources. You can check that session out here as well and we won’t spoil the results, other than to say they were pretty nailbiting!
In Search of a Grandfather
No, this isn’t a genealogy video nor a heart-warming reunion. Rob’s latest obsession is The Grandfather. Specifically, he’s looking for one of three Greater Affixes (or all three if extremely lucky), namely All Stats, Maximum Resource, and + Damage %. The hoard going into this particular venture isn’t quite as huge as it was for the Sorceress’ Shako, but it’s still insanely big. 39 Mythic Uniques were salvaged for the endeavor, with 3 additional Resplendent Sparks from other sources.
The rituals are also back, from petting the kitty to that specific song. This time around the Grandfathers got crafted one by one, and there was a GA pretty soon, but was it the right one? Let’s see what happens!
Spoiler of the Results
Despite having hit the original target after craft no.4 already, Rob obeyed his chat’s commands and went through with crafting the rest! That no.4 was a very nice Max Resource GA, and the following 6 crafts did actually see another two swords with GAs as well!
Unfortunately, the first one was the worst, Maximum Life! The second was a tricky one, as it was one of the three wanted – All Stats. But now it was unclear which one was better! In the end, the Maximum Resource one came out on top, with some crazy synergy with Ramaladni’s Magnum Opus and Locran’s Talisman. The masterworking worked out well, and the Barbaian ended up with an insane 393 Fury!
Let’s see if we get another one of these very entertaining sessions before the season’s end!
