(Updated) Vessel of Hatred and Season 6 Launch Delay

Staff Avatar by Staff

Blizzard have just announced a delay in today’s launch of Diablo 4’s first expansion!

UPDATE 4: Vessel of Hatred is now live!

UPDATE 3: The Battle.net update can now be downloaded and is 37.64 Gigabytes in size. Other platforms will not need this update. You can read about it more here.

UPDATE 2: Blizzard have announced the delay could last “upwards of two hours” from now. Battle.net players will also have a relatively big update to download as well.

Latest update – it looks like it will be about upwards of two hours until we launch Vessel of Hatred. Additionally Battle.net players will need an additional sizable update before playing. We will let you know when this update is available. We apologize for the delay and look forward to seeing you in Nahantu soon.

UPDATE 1: Global Director of Community Adam Fletcher commented that he hopes the delay should be a “couple hours at most”.

It seems there are some technical issues that need to be addressed before the expansion and season can launch. Servers will be unavailable starting with the announced launch times. There is no timeline for how long it will take to fix the issues, aside from the comment the delay will be “small”.

Hello Wanderers –

We have some late breaking news for our launch for Vessel of Hatred.
We are looking at a small delay for launch due to a small technical issue on our end. We are still expecting Vessel of Hatred to launch this evening, but we will need some additional time to ensure we have every player start at the exact same time across all platforms.

At 4pm PDT, we will begin locking out new logins for Diablo IV. Players already logged in prior to 4pm PDT will still be in-game on Patch 1.5.2, but they should expect to lose connection to the game over time while we do additional work to get the simultaneous launch prepared.

We apologize for the late breaking news on the time shift, but this is an important step we need to make to ensure every player can start their journey through Nahantu together.

We will be providing updates in this thread as they become available.
