On this page, we list the best gems, enchants, flasks, potions, and food you can get for your Enhancement Shaman, based on your stat priority. We also give budget alternatives. This page is updated for World of Warcraft Patch 12.1.

1.

The recommended choices for all content are:

  • Use Indecipherable Eversong Diamond Icon Indecipherable Eversong Diamond in your first socket.
    • Use Flawless Quick Amethyst Icon Flawless Quick Amethyst in other sockets.
  • With 5+ Sockets, switch to Powerful Eversong Diamond Icon Powerful Eversong Diamond.
    • Use one of each colour to maximize the bonus - Flawless Quick Amethyst Icon Flawless Quick Amethyst, Flawless Masterful Peridot Icon Flawless Masterful Peridot, Flawless Masterful Garnet Icon Flawless Masterful Garnet, and Flawless Masterful Lapis Icon Flawless Masterful Lapis.

Depending on your stat balance, you will likely find that sockets are the best place to balance out your secondaries. Since Mastery, Haste, and Critical Strike are all competitive, we recommend simming your character to see which stat is worth prioritizing in your gem slots.

Best Enchants and Weapon Augments

Unfortunately, due to the Enhancement imbue system, we have no access to the additional weapon rune consumables. This is because Windfury Weapon Icon Windfury Weapon and Flametongue Weapon Icon Flametongue Weapon overwrite them, so save some money and don't worry about these!

Slot Best Enchantment
Main Hand
  • Enchant Weapon - Jan'alai's Precision Icon Rite of the Hash'ey
Off Hand
  • Enchant Weapon - Jan'alai's Precision Icon Rite of the Hash'ey
Helm
  • Enchant Helm - Empowered Rune of Avoidance Icon Empowered Rune of Avoidance
Shoulders
  • Enchant Shoulders - Amirdrassil's Grace Icon Amirdrassil's Grace
Chest
  • Enchant Chest - Mark of the Worldsoul Icon Mark of the Worldsoul
Legs
  • Forest Hunter's Armor Kit Icon Forest Hunter's Armor Kit
Boots
  • Enchant Boots - Lynx's Dexterity Icon Lynx's Dexterity
Rings
  • Enchant Ring - Eyes of the Eagle Icon Eyes of the Eagle

Due to the current tuning of Enchant Ring - Eyes of the Eagle Icon Eyes of the Eagle, it outclasses all of the raw stat enchants, so is always used.

Helm, Shoulder and Boot enchants are up to personal preference as they have no direct impact on performance, but we recommend Avoidance for the extra survivability.

there might be an easy-to-get item that is better than the one you're currently wearing!

Optimal Consumables

In addition to enchants and improvements to your gear, making sure you come prepared with the right consumables to endgame content has a big impact on your performance.

3.1.

Flask

In Season 2, Flask picks aren't as cut and dry – they're instead used to balance out your secondaries as Stormbringer:

  • Flask of the Blood Knights Icon Flask of the Blood Knights – if your Mastery is higher than Critical Strike.
  • Flask of the Magisters Icon Flask of the Magisters – if your Critical Strike is higher than Mastery.
  • Flask of the Blood Knights Icon Flask of the Blood Knights – if you have less than 15% Haste.

Your goal as Stormbringer is to keep Critical Strike and Mastery as close to each other as possible, while keeping a solid floor of Haste to allow for resource cycling. That means flasks are used to "fix" the stat you're currently lacking the most of, rather than doubling down on the strongest. As Totemic however, always play with Flask of the Magisters Icon Flask of the Magisters.

You can also obtain a flask of your choice from Cauldron of Sin'dorei Flasks Icon Cauldron of Sin'dorei Flasks, provided by Alchemists.

3.2.

Potions

In Season 2, Potions are also much more complicated, and there are three different options with different use cases:

  • Liquid Luster Icon Liquid Luster Stormbringer pre-pots this in single-target.
  • Potion of Recklessness Icon Potion of Recklessness – In AoE, as Totemic, or with optimized gear.
  • Light's Potential Icon Light's Potential – if you want a simpler on-demand potion.

Since your current gear can severely impact the effectiveness of Potion of Recklessness Icon Potion of Recklessness following gear changes, both other options are now very relevant, and have different rotational considerations when using them. You can check our Rotation page for an explanation on using each.

You can also obtain fleeting versions of each of these potions from a Voidlight Potion Cauldron Icon Voidlight Potion Cauldron provided by Alchemists.

A note on Draught of Rampant Abandon Icon Draught of Rampant Abandon is that, while it's technically stronger, the void zones it spawns pacify you. It only takes 1-2 GCDs inside this to wipe out the extra value, so using the potion isn't generally worth it unless you're extremely comfortable with the downside.

Concentrated Silvermoon Health Potion Icon Concentrated Silvermoon Health Potion is the current best healing potion. Using this has a 5-minute cooldown, but multiple can be consumed in an extended boss fight should it go on long enough. Additionally, Warlock's Healthstone Icon Healthstones do not share a cooldown with other healing consumables. Remember to use it as well if you are holding one!

3.3.

Food Buff

Agility remains the strongest stat in Season 2, so you should be eating a Silvermoon Parade Icon Silvermoon Parade or other primary stat Feast if possible. If this isn't provided by your group, stick to Royal Roast Icon Royal Roast personal food instead.

3.4.

Augment Rune

In addition, if you can afford it, you should use Void-Touched Augment Rune Icon Void-Touched Augment Runes to increase your primary stat. These can be obtained through the weekly housing quest, but remember: Augment Runes are expensive and disappear on death, so use them wisely!

3.5.

Other Consumables

Alongside standard buff consumables, there are a handful of other items worth keeping hold of - especially in Mythic+:

  • Gateway Control Shard Icon Gateway Control Shard — allows you to auto-interact with nearby Warlock Demonic Gateway Icon Demonic Gateways.
  • Emergency Soul Link Icon Emergency Soul Link — can be used as a combat resurrection on your target, and does not require Engineering. This is especially useful since we can always use Reincarnation Icon Reincarnation to get back up ourselves.
  • Void-Shrouded Tincture Icon Void-Shrouded Tincture — Midnight's invisibility potion, which can be used to skip certain trash pulls in Mythic+. Bear in mind this does share a cooldown with your offensive potion Light's Potential Icon Light's Potential.
