How to Unlock Dancing Green

Lore

The first opponent of your cruiserweight campaign is to be the shameless playboy of Solution Nine, Dancing Green. Wielding the soul of a terrible toad, he prefers to engage his opponents in duels of dance, using his heightened abilities to command the dance floor. If you are to claim victory, you shall need more than might and magic─indeed, you shall need a sense of rhythm.

4.

Raid Guide

Dancing Green is fought on a disco stage with glowing square panels and a bleed wall outside the arena.

4.1.

Phase One

You will fight only Dancing Green for the entire fight.

4.2.

Phase One Mechanics

Dancing Green has the following mechanics in phase one.

  • Do the Hustle: Dancing Green points to one side of the arena, cleaving that side.
  • X-snap Twist: Dancing Green points to one side of the arena. He does the amount of half-room cleaves on that side indicated by the number in the ability name, then hits the opposite side with a half-room cleave.
  • Deep Cut: A conal magical tank buster on both tanks.
  • Funky Floor: The floor glows in a checkerboard pattern, doing AoEs on glowing tiles. Tiles will swap after each instance.
  • Full Beat: A stack marker on a healer.
  • Disco Infernal: Raidwide magical damage. Inflicts all players with multiple Burn Baby Burn debuffs and summons moving spotlights. Players must be inside spotlights when the debuff expires or they take heavy damage and a vuln stack.
  • Celebrate Good Times: Raidwide magical damage.
  • Ride the Waves: Sets of three AoE lines will travel from the north of the arena. Find the safe lines and stand inside them.
4.3.

Phase One Strategy

  • Dancing Green has telegraphed mechanics that are easy to understand, but tricky to execute when he combines them all. Count the amount of half-room cleaves correctly before moving to the other side for 2-snap and 4-snap Twist.
  • Follow the spotlights for Disco Infernal. Make sure to be in a spotlight when your debuff expires.
4.4.

Phase Two

At the beginning of phase two, Dancing Green will jump to the north side of the arena and become omni-directional.

4.5.

Phase Two Mechanics

Dancing Green introduces the following mechanics in phase two.

  • Ensemble Assemble: Summons eight Frogtourage backup dancers at front of the arena.
  • Arcady Night Fever: The eight backup dancers point towards a direction. Dancing Green will do a halfroom cleave with Let's Dance in the direction indicated.
  • Let's Pose: Dancing Green does raidwide magical damage. Players not hit by Let's Dance receives a damage buff for 20 seconds.
  • Frogtourage: Frogtourage dancers will slide across the arena, creating AoEs on the ground.
  • Eighth Beats: Marked AoEs on all players.
4.6.

Phase Two Strategy

  • Follow the groove and dodge all eight half-room cleaves correctly for Arcady Night Fever. If your groove is perfect, you'll receive the Perfect Groove buff for 20 seconds, increasing damage dealt. If the Grooviness meter is full because no party members were hit, you'll receive a bonus to your Limit Break gauge.
  • Stay out of the AoEs that the Frogtourage adds create and spread for Eighth Beats.
  • Dancing Green combines Funky Floor with an X-snap Twist. Stay on the safe tile close to the middle on the safe cleave side, then move to the other side's safe tile.
  • Dancing Green will then combine Frogtourage, X-snap Twist, and Disco Infernal. You'll have to go to spotlights that aren't covered by an AoE, then dodge the half-room cleaves. Afterwards, find the spotlights that are safe again for the second debuff.
  • Dancing Green will repeat abilities from here starting from Ensemble Assemble.
