Currency Changes in FFXIV Dawntrail

Dawntrail continues to employ the same tomestone and scrip systems used in FFXIV, with new tomestones and scrips added. Veteran players will be familiar with the changes, but players new to FFXIV's systems can learn more about currencies with our dedicated guide which is linked below.

Like previous expansions, the currently existing Allagan Tomestones of Causality and Comedy will be rendered obsolete. All items purchasable with these tomestones will be made purchasable with Poetics, and all duties that rewarded Causality and Comedy will be adjusted to reward Poetics. Players will be able to trade in their Causality and Comedy for Poetics. If players have any Astronomy left over, it will be removed, so make sure to trade them in for Causality.

Two new tomestones will be introduced when Dawntrail is released. Allagan Tomestones of Aesthetics and Allagan Tomestones of Heliometry will be introduced. Aesthetics will be available immediately upon the release of patch 7.0. This will be the uncapped tomestone, and players can farm it for base expansion gear. Heliometry will be added four weeks after Dawntrail's release at the same time as the Savage raid tier's release. These tomestones will be capped at 450 per weekly lockout.

Yellow Scrips and White Scrips will be removed in Dawntrail. Purple Scrips will be used to purchase items that were previously purchased with White Scrips, and a new Scrip type, Orange Scrips, will be introduced. These will be used to purchase Dawntrail crafting and gathering items from Rowena's House of Splendors.

The maximum amount of Bicolor gemstones that can be held at one time will be raised from 1000 to 1500.
