Dragoon DPS Gear and Best in Slot — Dawntrail 7.0
On this page, you will find the best gear and best-in-slot items for your Dragoon DPS in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail (Patch 7.0).
Dragoon Gearsets (BiS)
This section covers the endgame best gear set(s) available for Dragoon in different endgame content. The gear sets are made by calculating the estimated average DPS output of any given set of gear and comparing it against all other available options via algorithm. If you want to test out your own gear options, you can check out the Dragoon Gear Checker, which is particularly helpful to answer questions related to which upgrade you should purchase next.
If you are currently gearing up, you can find information to help make those choices in our guide's melding section, linked below.
Best in Slot by Encounter
Dragoon performs much better at a 2.50 GCD speed, so we have two different gearsets set up for pre-Savage gearing. One of them prioritizes the 2.50 GCD, utilizing one of the Normal Arcadion drops. This is also your second (or third, if buying weapon week 2) tome purchase, so it is very temporary, guaranteed.
Crafted Best-in-Slot - 2.50 GCD
Crafted Best-in-Slot - 2.46 GCD
Arcadion Savage Best-in-Slot
Portions of these gear sets can only be acquired by completing the current raid tier. Note that, unlike previous, 2.50 has significant upside, so the fact we can make a set with 0 Skill Speed means we greatly and only prefer this speed, now, at level 100.
The Omega Protocol Best-in-Slot
Portions of this gear sets can only be acquired by completing the Abyssos raid tier. A guide for the content can be found in the link below. The green-colored gear is obtained from the new dungeon added in patch 6.5, The Lunar Subterrane.
Dragonsong's Reprise Best-in-Slot
With the arrival of Patch 6.3 and the new dungeon, Lapis Manalis, dropping iLevel 605 gear, we are now able to cap item level on certain pieces to make a stronger build, averaging about 1% higher in DPS compared to previous sets.
Portions of these gear sets can only be acquired by completing the Asphodelos raid tier. A guide for the content can be found links below.
The Epic of Alexander (TEA) Best in Slot
- Item level 595
With that being said, the biggest difference that can be made to your gear set will be equipping a Shadowbringers Relic weapon. Due to the nature of how substats are allocated on these weapons, it enables you to utilize more substats than what’s intended on a normal weapon. The Relic weapon provides a 1% damage increase for The Epic of Alexander. Stat allocation is as follows:
- 182 Critical Hit / 147 Determination / 139 Direct Hit
Keep in mind, the Relic weapon is NOT mandatory to clear these fights. It only provides a buffer for mistakes. It’s up to the player to make the decision if the grind is worth it.
The Weapon's Refrain (UWU) Best in Slot
- Item level 500
With that being said, the biggest difference that can be made to your gear set will be equipping a Shadowbringers Relic weapon. Due to the nature of how substats are allocated on these weapons, it enables you to utilize more substats than what’s intended on a normal weapon. The Relic weapon provides a 3.5% damage increase for The Weapon's Refrain. Stat allocation is as follows:
- 136 Critical Hit / 136 Determination / 136 Direct Hit / 60 Skill Speed
Keep in mind, the Relic weapon is NOT mandatory to clear these fights. It only provides a buffer for mistakes. It’s up to the player to make the decision if the grind is worth it.
The Unending Coil of Bahamut (UCoB) Best in Slot
- Item level 470
With that being said, the biggest difference that can be made to your gear set will be equipping a Shadowbringers Relic weapon. Due to the nature of how substats are allocated on these weapons, it enables you to utilize more substats than what’s intended on a normal weapon. The Relic weapon provides a 3.5% damage increase for The Unending Coil of Bahamut. Stat allocation is as follows:
- 127 Critical Hit / 127 Determination / 124 Direct Hit / 90 Skill Speed
Keep in mind, the Relic weapon is NOT mandatory to clear these fights. It only provides a buffer for mistakes. It’s up to the player to make the decision if the grind is worth it.
