Futures Rewritten (Ultimate)
Futures Rewritten (Ultimate), commonly abbreviated as FRU, was announced during the Japan Fanfest Keynote Speech by Game Director Naoki Yoshida on January 6, 2024. Yoshida states that FRU is planned to be released in Patch 7.11 of Dawntrail, which has been announced to arrive on the 26th of November, 2024, two weeks after the release of patch 7.1 on the 12th of November, 2024.
The ultimate is named after Patch 5.4 Futures Rewritten, and will be based around Ryne and Gaia. These two characters are integral parts to the Shadowbringers expansion Eden raid storyline. Because of this, we can speculate that the ultimate will likely contain bosses or references to that raid series.
In the 84th Letter From the Producer Live, aired on November 1, 2024, Yoshida revealed that the first phase of the Ultimate is Fatebreaker, the eleventh fight of the Eden raid series.
