What is Occult Crescent in FFXIV?

Occult Crescent is new Field Operations content releasing in Patch 7.2 of Dawntrail. Expected to function similarly to The Forbidden Land, Eureka and Save The Queen, players will explore the unmapped terrain and battle against the isle's inhabitants.

Exploration and Combat are the main focus of Occult Crescent, and will be how players progress. By partaking in battles, players can raise their Knowledge Level, which will greatly influence the outcome of battles on the isle. Players must have a Combat job at level 100 to enter.

Identical to Skirmishes in Save The Queen, encounters similar to FATEs will occur on the isle, which can be completed solo or collaboratively with other players.

Unique to this content, players can equip power-ups known as Phantom Jobs that give access to new actions. These can be equipped independently of a player's main job.
