Palace of the Dead Floors 1-50 Guide
This page provides information about floors 1 through 50 of Palace of the Dead including enemy information and boss advice.
Palace of the Dead Guide for Floors 1-50
The first 50 floors of Palace of the Dead are extremely simple in comparison to the later floors, and require little detail to cover. Floorsets past 100 will be given their own individual pages. On floors 1-50, the Accursed Horde will take the form of a Bronze-trimmed Sack. On floors 1-30, Mimics can spawn from Bronze Coffers, while they spawn from Silver Coffers on floors 31-40 and Gold Coffers from floor 41 onwards. This means that Stun can no longer be used to prevent Pox.
Across all floorsets in Palace of the Dead, Pomanders of Affluence and Flight will not appear in Gold Coffers on the final non-boss floor of a floorset. Pomanders of Alteration, Purity, Serenity and Rage will not appear until floor 21. Pomanders of Raising will not appear until floor 51. Pomanders of Resolution will not appear until floor 61.
Floors 1-9
As an introductory floorset, many enemies here have no mechanics or ways to deal damage outside of their basic attacks. These enemies are excluded from the table below. You can expect 3-7 kills to be required to proceed between floors, 3-4 Treasure Coffers per floor, 4 rooms per floor and 2-3 enemies per room outside of Treasure Rooms, which will have significantly more Coffers and enemies.

Floor 10 Boss - Palace Deathgaze
The first boss of Palace of the Dead, and one of the simplest. Be aware that with low Aetherpool, the damage here can be notable, so Sustaining Potions and other healing can be very helpful to have if attempting solo.
Boss Rotation Quick-Guide:- Whipcrack
- Stormwind
- Bobmination
- Lumisphere)
- Aero Blast
- Repeat from Start
The arena is a circle, with the boss starting at the far side. This boss has a rotation consisting of nothing but three telegraphed AoEs and a raidwide, and is easily taken care of.
The boss will start with Whipcrack, a slightly stronger basic attack on the main target. Next is Stormwind, a telegraphed cone-shaped AoE.
After that is Bombination, a telegraphed point-blank AoE that inflicts Slow for 12s on any player hit by it. Finally, Lumisphere is a telegraphed circle AoE on a random player.
Finally, the boss will cast Aero Blast, a raidwide that inflicts a DoT for 15s. After this point, the boss will begin to loop mechanics.
On a DPS, you can expect a killtime of about one minute at level 20, or faster with the aid of a Pomander of Strength. On a tank or healer, you can expect a killtime of about one and a half minutes under the same conditions.
Floors 11-19
As the second floorset of Palace of the Dead, enemies remain relatively simple to defeat. As always, those without significance are excluded from the table below. You can expect 3-7 kills to be required to proceed between floors, 3-4 Treasure Coffers per floor, 3-6 rooms per floor and 2-3 enemies per room outside of Treasure Rooms, which will have significantly more Coffers and enemies.

- Rotten Stench
- Rotten Stench
- Rotten Stench
- Repeat from Start
The arena is a circle, with the boss starting at the far side. This boss also has a rotation consisting of three telegraphed AoEs and a raidwide, but also summons dangerous adds at certain points in the fight.
The boss will start with Bloody Caress, a stronger basic attack on the main target. Next is Acid Mist, a telegraphed point-blank AoE that inflicts Poison for 30s.
After that is Gold Dust, a telegraphed circle AoE on a random player that also inflicts Poison for 30s. Next, Leafstorm is a simple raidwide. After this the boss will move to the north of the arena and summon two Palace Hornet adds. These will use Final Sting if not killed quickly enough.
Finally, the boss will cast Rotten Stench, a telegraphed line Aoe, three times in a row. After this point, the boss will begin to loop mechanics.
On a DPS, you can expect a killtime of about two minutes at level 35, or faster with the aid of a Pomander of Strength. On a tank or healer, you can expect a killtime of about three minutes under the same conditions.
Floors 21-29
As the third floorset of Palace of the Dead, enemies will start to have more mechanics to avoid, though they remain mostly unpunishing to fail. As always, enemies without significance are excluded from the table below. You can expect 3-7 kills to be required to proceed between floors, 3-4 Treasure Coffers per floor, 3-6 rooms per floor and 2-3 enemies per room outside of Treasure Rooms, which will have significantly more Coffers and enemies.

Floor 30 Boss - Ningishzida
The third boss of Palace of the Dead. This boss does require some knowledge to clear without issue, but is nearly identical to the A Relic Reborn - The Hydra Level 50 Trial from ARR. Anyone who has cleared this encounter will have little trouble with this boss, as all mechanics it uses are taken directly from the trial.
Boss Rotation Quick-Guide:- Dissever
- Ball of Fire
- Ball of Ice
- Dissever
- Ball of Fire
- Ball of Ice
- Fear Itself
- Repeat from Start
The arena is a circle, with the boss starting at the far side. This boss has a rotation consisting of four untelegraphed circle AoEs followed by the main mechanic of the fight.
The boss will start with Dissever, a stronger basic attack on the main target that also cleaves. Next up is Ball of Fire, a circle AoE baited on a random player, and Ball of Ice, also a circle AoE baited on a random player. Standing in Fire will apply a DoT, while standing in Ice will apply Heavy. Make sure to avoid the middle of the arena at all times while these AoEs are going out.
The above sequence will then repeat, with Dissever followed up by Ball of Fire and Ball of Ice. Finally, the boss will move to the middle of the arena and cast Fear Itself. This is a raidwide untelegraphed donut-shaped AoE, with the only safe spot being inside the hitbox of the boss. This is why it is important to keep the middle of the arena free of AoEs, in order to be able to avoid the mechanic safely. Getting hit by this will inflict Hysteria for 10s.
After this point, the boss will begin to loop mechanics.
On a DPS, you can expect a killtime of about two and a half minutes at level 50, or faster with the aid of a Pomander of Strength. On a tank or healer, you can expect a killtime of about four minutes under the same conditions.
Floors 31-39
As the fourth floorset of Palace of the Dead, there is little difference between this set and the previous one. As always, enemies without significance are excluded from the table below. You can expect 3-7 kills to be required to proceed between floors, 3-5 Treasure Coffers per floor, 3-6 rooms per floor and 2-3 enemies per room outside of Treasure Rooms, which will have significantly more Coffers and enemies.

Floor 40 Boss - Ixtab
The fourth boss of Palace of the Dead. While of little threat, the adds it summons can cause major problems if not taken care of quickly.
Boss Rotation Quick-Guide:- Ancient Eruption (4 times)
- Summon Adds (x2 Nightmare Bhoot)
- Entropic Flame
- Accursed Pox
- Entropic Flame
- Accursed Pox
- Scream
- Shadow Flare
- Repeat from Start
The arena is a circle, with the boss starting at the far side. The first mechanic, Ancient Eruption, is a telegraphed circle AoE on a random player that leaves behind a puddle that inflicts a DoT if stepped into. Attempt to place these at the edge of the arena for an easier time with later mechanics, however they fade after a short amount of time so it may not be worth the effort.
The boss will then summon two Nightmare Bhoots. These must be killed before the later cast of Scream, or they will cast Tornado and likely kill one or multiple players. While doing this, avoid the two casts of both Entropic Flame, a telegraphed line Aoe, and Accursed Pox, a telegraphed circle AoE.
After doing this, the boss will move to the middle of the arena and cast Scream, a raidwide that inflicts Terror on all players for 10s. This will be followed up with Shadow Flare, another raidwide.
After this point, the boss will begin to loop mechanics.
On a DPS, you can expect a killtime of about two minutes at level 60, or faster with the aid of a Pomander of Strength. On a tank or healer, you can expect a killtime of about three minutes under the same conditions.
Floors 41-49
As the fifth floorset of Palace of the Dead, some enemies will begin to show strength, having untelegraphed AoEs that must be interrupted. As always, enemies without significance are excluded from the table below. You can expect 3-9 kills to be required to proceed between floors, 3-6 Treasure Coffers per floor, 4-6 rooms per floor and 3-4 enemies per room outside of Treasure Rooms, which will have significantly more Coffers and enemies.

Floor 50 Boss - Edda Blackbosom
The fifth boss of Palace of the Dead, and a significant increase in complexity compared to previous bosses, though still simpler than most dungeon fights.
Boss Rotation Quick-Guide:- Dark Harvest
- In Health
- In Sickness
- Repeat until 90% HP
- Black Honeymoon
- Cold Feet
- In Health (two times)
- Dark Harvest
- In Sickness
- Repeat from Cold Feet until 60% HP
- Black Honeymoon
- Cold Feet
- In Health (two times)
- Dark Harvest (two times)
- In Health (with Adds)
- Black Honeymoon
- Repeat from Cold Feet
The arena is a circle, with the boss starting at the far side. The boss starts with Dark Harvest, a strong auto-attack that cleaves. Next, In Health is a large donut AoE with a small safe zone inside the hitbox of the boxx. This is followed up with In Sickness, an instant circle AoE on a random player that inflicts Disease for 20s.
The above sequence will repeat until the boss reaches 90% HP, and will be cut off if reached early. The boss will then cast Black Honeymoon, a raidwide that deals extra damage based on how many players were previously hit by In Health.
From 90% HP until 60%, the boss will enter the second loop. Cold Feet is an omnidirectional Gaze AoE that will inflict Confused for 10s if players fail to look away. This is followed up by two casts of In Health, which can now be either a point-blank AoE or a donut-shaped AoE. The second cast will always be the opposite of the first. This will be followed up with another Dark Harvest and another In Sickness.
Once the boss reaches 60% HP, it will cast Black Honeymoon again, and enter its final loop. This consists of a cast of Cold Feet, followed by two casts of In Health, two uses of Dark Harvest, and finally a cast of In Health that will always be the donut-shaped variant. This final cast will also briefly summon adds around the arena, which either do telegraphed circle AoEs or telegraphed line AoEs. Bait these outside of the safe zone of the donut, then move into the safe zone. Alternately, if the AoEs are covering the safe zone, wait for them to go off before moving in, as you have enough time to adjust.
After one last Black Honeymoon, the boss will begin to repeat mechanics from the cast of Cold Feet below 60% HP.
On a DPS, you can expect a killtime of about three minutes at level 60, or faster with the aid of a Pomander of Strength. On a tank or healer, you can expect a killtime of about five minutes under the same conditions.
