Sightseeing Log Guides for All FFXIV Expansions

The Sightseeing Log in FFXIV is a feature that encourages players to explore various locations throughout the game world. By visiting these specific locations, players can record their journey and earn rewards. Each entry in the log requires visiting a landmark and fulfilling certain conditions, such as arriving at a particular time of day or using specific emotes. It's a fun way for adventurers to discover the beauty and lore of Eorzea.

To unlock the Sightseeing Log in FFXIV, players need to complete a short quest that becomes available at level 20 once you have completed the MSQ Sylph-management. The quest A Sight to Behold can be accepted from Naoh Gamduhla in New Gridania (X:11.5, Y:13.4) which will also unlock the first 20 vistas in A Realm Reborn.

Additional Sightseeing Logs for subsequent expansions, such as Heavensward, Stormblood, and beyond, are unlocked by progressing through the main scenario quests and speaking with designated NPCs in the new areas.

To fill in your Sightseeing Log, you need to visit each listed location and fulfil the required conditions. These conditions often include visiting at a specific time of day, performing certain emotes, or standing in a precise location.

Upon finding a vista, the text 'You have arrived at a vista!' will appear in the chat log, vistas for Heavensward onwards will also have a blue marker as shown above. To complete the entry for your Sightseeing Log, use the correct emote while on top of the vista. Once you meet all the requirements, the corresponding entry is added to your log, and you earn experience points and sometimes unique rewards for completing the entry.

The A Realm Reborn Sightseeing Log contains 80 entries scattered across the original game world. These locations highlight iconic landmarks in Eorzea and require players to complete specific actions or visit at precise times.

The A Realm Reborn Log is generally considered much harder than other expansions due to these vistas having a range of Weather, Time and Emote requirements while later expansions removed weather and time requirements.

The Heavensward Sightseeing Log invites players to explore Ishgard and its surrounding areas, featuring a total of 62 entries. These take you from Coerthas Western Highlands all the way to Azys Lla.

The Stormblood Sightseeing Log features another 62 entries that take players across the vast and diverse regions of Ala Mhigo and the Far East. Completing these entries allows players to experience the breath taking landscapes as well as underwater areas introduced in the expansion.

With 45 entries, the Shadowbringers Sightseeing Log guides players through the stunning locations of the First, giving insight into the world and its unique cultures.

The Endwalker Sightseeing Log includes 46 entries that will take you to some of the most memorable and awe-inspiring locations introduced in this expansion. From serene landscapes to epic vistas, this log encourages you to explore every corner of Endwalker’s beautiful new areas.

The Dawntrail Sightseeing Log is the latest addition, bringing new opportunities to explore the regions introduced in the expansion. Players can look forward to immersing themselves in the vibrant environments of Dawntrail from Tuliyollal all the way to Solution 9.

Dawntrail specifically actually has 2 logs, with entries 1-28 being for The New World while 29-45 is unlocked in Solution 9.

Completing entries in the Sightseeing Log can reward players with achievement points and the Fledgling Apkallu minion. In addition, each vista grants the player some experience points with the amounts being relative to the expansion itself.
