Summoner Job Changes in Dawntrail
This page will provide information provided from the 2024 FFXIV Media Tour Event, alongside information that was originally provided by the Jobs Actions Trailer and Producer Live Letter Part 81 for Summoner.
As a disclaimer, while the media tour event provide us with footage and tooltip information for all Summoner abilities, the numeric values labeled on these tooltips are NOT finalized. It is probable that some of these values (especially potency numbers) may be changed between now and the final release of the game.
Introduction
As anticipated, the changes to Summoner with the upcoming Dawntrail expansion aren't too
substantial. Building upon the initial rework from Endwalker, Summoner going forward will feel
and play much of the same as it did, with just some added flavor. The biggest change to the job
as originally seen in the Jobs Actions Trailer, is the addition of a new Demi-Primal called
Solar Bahamut. Along with this, Summoner will also receive a few other minor additions, such
as a trait upgrade to Fester to introduce a new oGCD ability called Necrotize,
as well as a new oGCD ability tied to
Searing Light called Searing Flash.

Summary of Summoner Changes
Solar Bahamut will be introduced as another Demi-Primal, that will essentially act as a direct clone of Demi-Bahamut. All of Solar Bahamut's actions are cloned and will function the exact same way as Demi-Bahamut's, just with its own flavor of animations and action names. Because of this, the way you use Solar Bahamut will be no different from your other Demi-Primals, prioritizing SIX casts of Umbral Impulse or Umbral Flare during its duration, while also weaving its Enkindle and Astral Flow oGCD abilities.
Lux Solaris will be an AoE healing oGCD, provided by the Refulgent Lux status buff. This may seem similar to Demi-Phoenix healing, as this status buff is tied to Solar Bahamut. However the 30 second duration of this status effect may allow for some degree of flexibility on when you want this healing effect to occur.
Searing Light will now become a 20 second duration buff now, in their efforts to consolidate all party buffs
to 20 seconds. To compensate for this reduction, they've buffed the % damage buff to 5% (up from 3%), which would
technically be a buff to its overall rDPS value. Along with this,
Searing Light will also provide you with another
status buff, granting you access to cast Searing Flash. Searing Flash is just a standard oGCD with strong potency.
Necrotize is a new oGCD ability, that is just a direct action upgrade to Fester via a trait.
Rotation Analysis
The summoner rotation will begin with Summon Solar Bahamut being available. From information provided by Yoshi-P during the Producer Live Letter Part 81, as well as gameplay footage from the Media Tour event, the overall rotation cycle will still revolve around "2 minute loops" as it does now. This rotation flow will follow as such:
Summon Solar Bahamut → Summon Bahamut → Summon Solar Bahamut
→
Summon Phoenix
Instead of having just the Demi-Bahamut → Demi-Phoenix loop, you know will have the Solar Bahamut → Demi-Bahamut loop and Solar Bahamut → Demi-Phoenix loop.
We can now start with the opener, as Summon Solar Bahamut will be immediately activated. Once Solar Bahamut is summoned, just as with Endwalker gameplay, your priority is to get six Umbral Impulse casts. Alongside of this, ensure you're weaving your Sunflare, Enkindle Solar Bahamut, Necrotize, and Searing Flash oGCD abilities during the buff window.

Please note that the weave timings for your Grade 8 Tincture of Intelligence and
Searing Light
could change, as we find out what the final potency values will be on early access release.
As Solar Bahamut will grant you Ruby, Topaz, and Emerald Arcanum upon completion, you will have the
same "Primals" phase to follow your Solar Bahamut burst windows. Nothing has changed with these primals, nor
their Gemshine,
Precious Brilliance, and
Astral Flow abilities,
so your rotation flow will remain the same as it was throughout Endwalker. You will be repeating this process
for both of your 2 minute loops mentioned above.
Utility Analysis
Summoner’s utility kit will see a slight improvement with the DT changes. While its Resurrection and
Radiant Aegis actions remain unchanged, the addition of Refulgent Lux will increase Summoner’s
overall healing contribution. Not only from raw healing value, but Refulgent Lux will provide you with a little more
flexibility compared to Phoenix healing.
The changes to increasing the duration of Addle and reducing the cooldown on
Swiftcast are indirect benefits to Summoner
as well. The
Swiftcast cooldown reduction will actually be quite valuable for
Resurrection purposes, as
you'll be able to instantly cast your raise more often if needed.

Summoner Action Changes in Patch 6.0
In Endwalker, Summoner has been completely revamped. Summoner now gains elemental Arcanum when executing demi-summons, allowing them to summon Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda onto the battlefield and imbue their base spells with an elemental aspect. Each elemental summon has its own unique actions and effects. Its capstone action allows summoners to bring forth the full might of Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda by summoning their true forms to the battlefield.
Summoner Spell Changes in Patch 6.0
Ruin potency changed from 180 to 240. Cast time changed from 2.5 seconds to 1.5 seconds. MP cost changed from 200 to 300.
Outburst learning class changed to Arcanist. Learning level changed from 40 to 26. Potency changed from 90 to 100. Cast time changed from 2.5 seconds to 1.5 seconds. MP cost changed from 400 to 300.
Ruin II learning level changed from 38 to 30. Potency changed from 160 to 270. Cast time changed from instant to 1.5 seconds. MP cost changed from 400 to 300.

Dreadwyrm Trance changed category from ability to spell. The effects of this spell were revamped, and the recast time changed from 55 seconds to 60 seconds. It now makes the user enter Dreadwyrm Trance for a duration of 15 seconds. It changes Ruin III to Astral Impulse and Outburst to Astral Flare. It also grants Ruby Arcanum, Topaz Arcanum, and Emerald Arcanum. Can only be executed in combat and while Carbuncle is summoned.
Ruin IV effects were updated. It now deals unaspected damage to target and all enemies nearby it with a potency of 430 for the first enemy and 60% less for all remaining enemies. Can only be executed while under the effect of Further Ruin. MP cost changed from 200 to 400, and area range changed from 0 yalms to 5 yalms.
Summon Bahamut effects were updated. It now enters Dreadwyrm Trance and summons Demi-Bahamut to fight your target. Demi-Bahamut will execute Wyrmwave automatically on the targets attacked by you after summoning. increases enmity in target when Demi-Bahamut is summoned. This effect has a duration of 15 seconds. It changes Ruin III to Astral Impulse and Outburst to Astral Flare. It also grants Ruby Arcanum, Topaz Arcanum, and Emerald Arcanum. Can only be executed in combat and while Carbuncle is summoned. The recast time changed from 30 seconds to 60 seconds, and range changed from 0 yalms to 25 yalms.
New Summoner Spells
Summon Carbuncle summons Carbuncle to your side.
Radiant Aegis orders Carbuncle to execute Radiant Aegis. It creates a barrier around self that absorbs damage totaling 20% of your maximum HP. The barrier lasts for 30 seconds and has a maximum of two charges. Can only be executed while Carbuncle is summoned.
Aethercharge grants Aethercharge, increasing the potency of Ruin, Ruin II, and Ruin III by 50, and Outburst by 20 for a duration of 15 seconds. It also grants Ruby Arcanum, Topaz Arcanum, and Emerald Arcanum. Can only be executed in combat and while Carbuncle is summoned.
Summon Ruby summons Ruby Carbuncle and orders it to execute Glittering Ruby. Glittering Ruby rushes the target and deals fire damage with a potency of 400. It also grants 2 stacks of Fire Attunement, which make Gemshine and Precious Brilliance fire-aspected for a duration of 30 seconds. Can only be executed while under the effect of Ruby Arcanum and Carbuncle is summoned.
Summon Topaz summons Topaz Carbuncle and orders it to execute Glittering Topaz. Glittering Topaz rushes the target and deals earth damage with a potency of 400. It also grants 4 stacks of Earth Attunement, which make Gemshine and Precious Brilliance earth-aspected for a duration of 30 seconds. Can only be executed while under the effect of Topaz Arcanum and Carbuncle is summoned.
Summon Emerald summons Emerald Carbuncle and orders it to execute Glittering Emerald. Glittering Emerald deals wind damage with a potency of 400. It also grants 4 stacks of Wind Attunement, which make Gemshine and Precious Brilliance wind-aspected for a duration of 30 seconds. Can only be executed while under the effect of Wind Arcanum and Carbuncle is summoned.
Summon Ifrit summons Ifrit-Egi and orders it to execute Inferno. Inferno rushes forward and deals fire damage to all enemies in a 5-yalm cone with a potency of 600 for the first enemy and 60% less for all remaining enemies. It also grants 2 stacks of Fire Attunement, which make Gemshine and Precious Brilliance fire-aspected for a duration of 30 seconds. It also grants Ifrit's Favor. Astral Flow channels the energies of your active trance or elemental favor to perform one of several actions. Dreadwyrm Trance Effect: Action changes to Deathflare. Firebird Trance Effect: Action changes to Rekindle. Ifrit's Favor Effect: Action changes to Crimson Cyclone. Titan's Favor Effect: Action changes to Mountain Buster. Garuda's Favor Effect: Action changes to Slipstream.
Tri-disaster deals unaspected damage with a potency of 120 to target and all enemies nearby it.
Summon Phoenix enters Firebird Trance and summons Demi-Phoenix to fight by your side, which executes Everlasting Flight as it manifests. Demi-Phoenix will execute Scarlet Flame automatically on the targets attacked by you after summoning. Increases enmity in target when Demi-Phoenix is summoned. It lasts for 15 seconds, and changes Ruin III to Fountain of Fire and Outburst to Brand of Purgatory. It also grants Ruby Arcanum, Topaz Arcanum, and Emerald Arcanum. Can only be executed in combat and while Carbuncle is summoned.
Summon Ifrit II summons Ruby Ifrit and orders it to execute Inferno. Ruby Ruin deals fire damage with a potency of 300. It costs one Fire Attunement to execute.
Topaz Ruin deals earth damage with a potency of 240. It costs one Earth Attunement to execute.
Emerald Ruin deals wind damage with a potency of 160. It costs one Wind Attunement to execute.
Precious Brilliance channels the energies of your active elemental attunement to attack multiple enemies. Fire Attunement effect: deal fire damage to a target and all enemies nearby it. Earth Attunement effect: deal earth damage to a target and all enemies nearby it. Wind Attunement effect: deal wind damage to a target and all enemies nearby it.
Ruby Outburst deals fire damage with a potency of 140 to target and all enemies nearby it. It costs one Fire Attunement to execute.
Topaz Outburst deals earth damage with a potency of 110 to target and all enemies nearby it. It costs one Earth Attunement to execute.
Emerald Outburst deals wind damage with a potency of 70 to target and all enemies nearby it. It costs one Wind Attunement to execute.
Ruby Ruin II deals fire damage with a potency of 340. It costs one Fire Attunement to execute.

Topaz Catastrophe deals earth damage with a potency of 140 to target and all enemies nearby it. It also grants Titan's Favor. The effect of Titan's Favor ends upon execution of certain summoner actions. It costs one Earth Attunement to execute.
Emerald Catastrophe deals wind damage with a potency of 100 to target and all enemies nearby it. It costs one Wind Attunement to execute.
Crimson Cyclone rushes forward and delivers a fire attack to target and all enemies nearby it with a potency of 430 for the first enemy and 65% less for all remaining enemies. Can only be executed while under the effect of Ifrit's Favor. Cannot be executed while bound. Action changes to Crimson Strike upon execution.
Crimson Strike deals fire damage to target and all enemies nearby it with a potency of 430 for the first enemy and 65% less for all remaining enemies. It comboes off of Crimson Cyclone.
Mountain Buster deals earth damage to target and all enemies nearby it with a potency of 150 for the first enemy and 70% less for all remaining enemies. Can only be executed while under the effect of Titan's Favor.
Slipstream deals wind damage to target and all enemies nearby it with a potency of 430 for the first enemy and 65% less for all remaining enemies. It also creates a windstorm centered around the target, dealing damage to all enemies who enter with a potency of 30 with a duration of 15 seconds. Can only be executed while under the effect of Garuda's Favor.
New Summoner Pet Actions
Radiant Aegis creates a barrier around you that absorbs damage totaling 20% of your maximum HP for a duration of 30 seconds.
Searing Light increases damage dealt by self and nearby party members by 3% for a duration of 30 seconds.
Summoner Ability Changes in Patch 6.0
Fester learning level changed from 18 to 10. Potency changed from 100 to 300. Removed additional effects, and the recast time changed from 5 seconds to 1 second.
Energy Drain learning level changed from 18 to 10. Potency changed from 100 to 200. Added "Additional Effect: Grants Further Ruin. Duration: 60 seconds". Recast time changed from 30 seconds to 60 seconds.
Painflare learning level changed from 52 to 40. Potency changed from 130 to 150. Recast time changed from 5 seconds to 1 second.
Energy Siphon learning level changed from 35 to 52. Potency changed from 40 to 100. Added "Additional Effect: Grants Further Ruin. Duration: 60 seconds". Recast time changed from 30 seconds to 60 seconds.
Deathflare potency changed from 400 to 500. Potency rate when attacking remaining enemies changed from 50% to 60%. Recast time changed from 15 seconds to 20 seconds. Deleted "Dreadwyrm Trance fades upon execution." Added "This action cannot be assigned to a hotbar."
Enkindle Bahamut potency changed from 650 to 1300. Potency rate when attacking remaining enemies changed from 50% to 60%. Deleted "Shares a recast timer with Enkindle Phoenix." Recast time changed from 10 seconds to 20 seconds.
Akh Morn potency changed from 650 to 1300. Potency rate when attacking remaining enemies changed from 50% to 60%.
New Summoner Abilities
Searing Light orders Carbuncle to execute Searing Light. Searing Light increases damage dealt by self and all nearby party members by 3%. This effect has a duration of 30 seconds, and can only be executed in combat and while Carbuncle is summoned.
Rekindle restores own or target party member's HP with a cure potency of 400. It also grants Rekindle to target for a duration of 30 seconds, which grants a healing over time effect when HP falls below 75% or upon effect expiration. This effect has a cure potency of 200 and lasts for 15 seconds. Can only be executed while in Firebird Trance.
Removed Summoner Actions
Bio, Summon, Miasma, Egi Assault, Summon II, Bio II, Bane, Summon III, Egi Assault II, Enkindle, Tri-disaster, Aetherpact, Devotion, Bio III, Miasma III, and Firebird Trance were removed in Patch 6.0
Summoner Trait Changes in Patch 6.0
- Ruin Mastery learning class changed to Arcanist. Learning level changed from 54 to 30. Updated the effects.
- Enhanced Dreadwyrm Trance now upgrades Dreadwyrm Trance to Summon Bahamut.

- Enhanced Energy Siphon grants Further Ruin upon executing Energy Drain or Energy Siphon.
- Ruin Mastery III enhances Gemshine according to your current elemental attunement. Fire Attunement Upgrade: Ruby Rite. Earth Attunement Upgrade: Topaz Rite. Wind Attunement Upgrade: Emerald Rite.
- Outburst Mastery upgrades Outburst to Tri-disaster.

- Ruin Mastery IV increases the potency of Ruin III to 310, Ruby Rite to 430, Topaz Rite 330, and Emerald Rite to 230.
- Elemental Mastery grants Ifrit's Favor upon executing Summon Ifrit, Titan's Favor upon executing Topaz Rite or Topaz Catastrophe, and Garuda's Favor upon executing Summon Garuda. Enhances Astral Flow according to your current elemental favor. Ifrit's Favor Upgrade: Crimson Cyclone. Titan's Favor Upgrade: Mountain Buster. Garuda's Favor Upgrade: Slipstream.
- Enhanced Radiant Aegis allows the accumulation of charges for consecutive uses of Radiant Aegis, with two maximum charges.
- Enkindle II upgrades Summon Ifrit to Summon Ifrit II, Summon Titan to Summon Titan II, and Summon Garuda to Summon Garuda II.
Removed Summoner Traits
Enhanced Ruin II, Corruption Mastery, Corruption Mastery II, Enhanced Enkindle, Enhanced Dreadwyrm Trance II, Enhanced Egi Assault, Enhanced Outburst, Enhanced Bane, and Enhanced Firebird Trance were removed in Patch 6.0.
