Tender Valley Dungeon Guide
Welcome to our guide to Tender Valley, one of two endgame dungeons released in Dawntrail 7.0. This guide aims to prepare players for the dungeon so they will know what to expect, with simple mechanic instructions and notes on what to watch out for.
Introduction
At the behest of Zeycihan, professor of archeology at the Studium, you are tasked with venturing into a valley swarming with sabotenders. In the furthest reaches of this gorge of succulents lie the remnants of an ancient structure believed to be of Yok Huy origin, but if you are to discover what mysteries dwell within, you must first survive the innumerous needles of the valley's denizens...
Unlocking Tender Valley
Tender Valley can be unlocked at Level 100 from the quest "It Belongs in a Museum" at Tuliyollal (x14, y13). It is one of two capstone dungeon players will encounter in Dawntrail.
Full Dungeon Guide for Tender Valley
Max-level dungeons should be done with wall-to-wall pulls, as player gear outscales any incoming damage the mobs do. Make sure to mitigate the packs and use effective healing and damage cooldowns to burn the trash down quickly.
First Boss Trash Mobs
Watch out for the Valley Campeador's 100,000 Needles, as it'll do 100,000 damage. Other mobs are not threatening, and you can stun the cast if it's not stun immune from a White Mage's Holy.
Barreltender
The first boss uses the following abilities.
- Barbed Bellow: Party-wide magical damage.
- Heavyweight Needles: Conal AoEs that expand slightly. Stand in the middle of the larger gaps.
- Tender Drop: Cactuses spawn on the arena. Ones with flowers will expand into a large AoE, while ones without will expand into a small AoE.
- Barrel Breaker: Knocks back all players from the centre.
- Succulent Stomp: A stack marker.
- Prickly Left: A left cleave that expands to a large cleave where only the direct right is safe.
- Tender Drop: Physical tank buster.
A straightforward boss with gotcha styled mechanics. Remember that most AoEs will expand, creating small safe spaces around the arena.
Second Boss Trash Mobs
No mobs of note here.
Anthracite
The second boss uses the following abilities.
- Anthrabomb: Summons grey bombs that explode in a circle AoE or yellow bombs that enter a hole on the ground. Circle holes connect to pipes on the east, while square holes connect to pipes on the west. Bombs that enter a hole create a line AoE that comes from their respective pipes on the side of the arena.
- Carbonaceous Combustion: Party-wide magical damage.
- Carniflagration: Spawns three series of bombs, with each set having two grey bombs and one yellow bomb. There are marked AoEs on all players after the third set.
- Burning Coals: A stack marker.
- Chimney Smack: Magical tank buster.
This is a rather fast-paced boss with one major mechanic. Carniflagration will spawn a series of Anthrabombs. To dodge the bombs, locate the grey bombs first and move away or in between them, then move to the correct row to dodge the line AoE coming from the pipe.
Final Boss Trash Mobs
There is a mini-boss at the end of the second trash pull. Similar to the mini-bosses in the dungeon the Qitana Ravel, the Yok Huy Attestant tethers to statues at the side of the arena with Ancient Wrath, shooting a line AoE across the arena. Players need to hide behind the rock formations to dodge the AoEs. It will also use Boulder Toss, dealing moderate tank damage, and Sun Toss, a targeted ground AoE on a random player.
Greatest Serpent of Tural
The final boss uses the following abilities.
- Dubious Tulidisaster: Party-wide magical damage.
- Bouncy Council: Summons untargetable adds that indicate a direction in a line or indicate a spinning circle. Adds that indicate a line will do a line AoE in that direction and the opposite direction, while adds that indicate a circle will do a circle AoE.
- Screes of Fury: Magical tank buster.
- Greatest Labyrinth: Inflicts all players with Greatest Curse and spawns a labyrinth. Players will travel in the direction indicated by the arrows, and must reach the blue circle to remove the debuff or they will die.
- Moist Summoning: Summons the Greater Serpent of Tural, which jumps to players three times with a stack marker. Each jump leaves behind a earth puddle that inflicts damage-over-time if players stay in it.
- Greatest Flood: A knockback from a corner. Use knockback prevention or avoid getting knocked back into the puddles.
- Great Torrent: A series of ground AoEs that circle the arena. Dodge into the first one, and then spread for marked AoEs on all players.
The first add indicates the line AoE, while the second one shows the circle AoE.
The main gimmick of this fight is Greatest Labyrinth. To get to the cleansing panel, work your way backwards from the circle panel with the arrows. There is only one path that leads to it, so follow that path to the middle, then take that path to the panel.
Loot
