Welcome to our guide to The Skydeep Cenote, the third dungeon of Dawntrail. This guide aims to prepare players for the dungeon so they will know what to expect, with simple mechanic instructions and notes on what to watch out for.

1.

Introduction

Dungeon 3 Banner FFXIV

Having successfully collected all seven keystones, Wuk Lamat now faces her final challenge as a claimant: finding the city of gold. All clues point to Yak T'el, whose only uncharted terrain lies in the Skydeep Cenote. Long before the Mamool Ja converted it to a cenotaph for children lost to the dream of blessed siblings, the Yok Huy quarried its depths and witnessed dreams of their own. Now you must tread this path of ancient awe and endless sorrow to discover for yourself what lies glimmering in the deep...

Unlocking The Skydeep Cenote

The Skydeep Cenote can be unlocked at Level 95 during the main scenario quest "Road to the Golden City." It is the third dungeon players will encounter in Dawntrail and is located in Yak T'el. Players above Level 96 will be level synced to Level 96 when entering.

2.1.

First Boss Trash Mobs

These mobs do not do anything noticeable, but auto attacks start hurting at this point if you haven't upgraded your gear.

2.2.

Feather Ray

  • Immersion: Party-wide magic damage.
  • Troublesome Tail: Inflicts a debuff that mimics the next ability cast by the boss from the player.
  • Worrisome Wave: A frontal conal AoE from the boss. Can be mimicked.
  • Hydro Ring: A donut AoE from the boss which changes the arena into a donut shape.
  • Blowing Bubbles: The boss forms bubbles that move out from the centre. These deal damage and inflict a damage taken up stack if hit.
  • Bubble Bomb: Spawns bubbles that explode.
  • Rolling Current: Knocks back the bubbles on the arena.
  • Trouble Bubbles: Spawns bubbles from the boss and all players.
2.3.

Second Boss Trash Mobs

The Living Rock in the first mob pack does a large conal AoE. After the door opens, there will be two waves of mobs.

2.4.

Firearms

  • Dynamic Dominance: Party-wide magic damage.
  • Mirror Maneuver: Spawns mirrors and orbs onto the arena. The mirrors reflect line AoEs, while the orbs explode in an extremely large AoE if hit by a line AoE.
  • Thunderlight Burst: The boss jumps to an edge and shoots a line AoE towards a mirror.
  • Ancient Artillery: Expanding AoEs that hit squares in a line.
  • Pummel: Physical tank buster.
  • Emergent Artillery: After a delay, marked AoEs on all players.
2.5.

Final Boss Trash Mobs

There's only one pack of four mobs before the first roadblock. The Stonemasons do a thin conal AoE and the Packers do a point-blank AoE.

2.6.

Maulskull

  • Stonecarver: Maulskull's fists light up twice, then cleave the half of the arena that was marked in that order. Knocks back slightly if hit.
  • Skullcrush: A knockback from the front of the room accompanied with a marked AoE. Get knocked back diagonally, then spread.
  • Maulwork: Large circle AoEs on the arena, then large line AoEs towards the indicators.
  • Deep Thunder: A tower that requires the party to stack. Deals multiple hits of damage.
  • Ringing Blows: A knockback from the front of the arena followed by Stonecarver.
  • Wrought Fire: Magical tank buster that hits in an AoE.
  • Colossal Impact: Knockback from the back half of the room accompanied with marked AoEs or stack marker, followed by the other.
  • Ashlayer: Party-wide magic damage.
3.
