The Strayborough Deadwalk Dungeon Guide
Welcome to our guide to the Strayborough Deadwalk, one of two endgame dungeons released in Dawntrail 7.0. This guide aims to prepare players for the dungeon so they will know what to expect, with simple mechanic instructions and notes on what to watch out for.
Introduction
Dreamborough─a district of Living Memory long thought lost to interdimensional fusion─rises from the rift after decades of disconnection. Yet what lies beyond its gates is not the dazzling paradise of Constancy's memory, but a land marred by shadow and haunted by vestiges of the Endless who once called it home. You must venture into the twisted grounds and quell the lost souls' agony once and for all...but the phantoms within do not take kindly to the living.
Unlocking The Strayborough Deadwalk
The Strayborough Deadwalk can be unlocked at Level 100 from the quest "Something Stray in the Neighborhood" at Solution Nine (x19, y18). It is one of two capstone dungeon players will encounter in Dawntrail.

Max-level dungeons should be done with wall-to-wall pulls, as player gear outscales any incoming damage the mobs do. Make sure to mitigate the packs and use effective healing and damage cooldowns to burn the trash down quickly.
First Boss Trash Mobs
At the end of the first pull near the gate, mobs will spawn out of the door on the left. No trash mobs here are threatening.
His Royal Headness Leonogg I
The first boss uses the following abilities.
- Malicious Mist: Party-wide magical damage.
- Falling Nightmare: Spawns a head on top of all players, which drops an AoE on that location after a small delay. Players hit will be inflicted with the Benoggined debuff, preventing any actions for 10 seconds.
- Team Spirit: Summons puppets at the edges of the arena. If a player touches these puppets, they will be bound and the boss casts Falling Nightmare on them.
- Spirited Charge: The puppets begin to march across the arena. One half of the room will go first, and then the other half.
- Evil Scheme: Circle AoEs from the centre that fan out.
- Looming Nightmare: Two players are marked with a chasing AoE that follows them.
- Scream: Three sets of opposing conal AoEs. Stand in the third one and dodge into the first.
The main gimmick of this boss are the puppets that spawn and run across the arena with Spirited Charge. This will be combined with Evil Scheme, Looming Nightmare, and Scream. Players will have to dodge the AoEs while also avoiding puppets. Due to FFXIV's netcode, puppets will actually be slightly ahead of their hitbox, so try and stay out of their path in general.
Second Boss Trash Mobs
The very first pack of both wall-to-wall pulls will spawn out of the left side: the carousel on the first and the circus tent on the second. While none of these mobs are overly threatening, there are tons of AoEs on the second pack, so keep moving to avoid them.
Jack-in-the-Pot
The second boss uses the following abilities.
- Troubling Teacups: Summons teacups which will explode in a large AoE if tethered to by Tea Awhirl.
- Tea Awhirl: Tethers to teapots and causes the teapots to spin around.
- Toiling Teapots: Summons many teacups on the arena. Teapots will appear on top of three sets of teapots, which indicate the order of which the teapots will spawn an expanding poison puddle on the ground. Start on the third set and move into the first set once those puddles disappear.
- Last Drop: Magical tank buster.
The second boss's gimmick are the teacups. Tea Awhirl will tether to the teacups and make them spin. Follow the tethered teacup around the arena and move away from it once it stops. Toiling Teapots summons teacups, and they'll create expanding puddles while teapots fill them up, so stay in a safe spot and move into where the first set of puddles disappear.
Final Boss Trash Mobs
On the very last trash pull, there are two Stray Dolls mini-bosses that will repeatedly use Slapstick, dealing pulsing party-wide magic damage. They also have Terrifying Glance. a gaze attack. Make sure to use mitigation and AoE heals for these mobs, as they have a high HP pool.
Traumerei
- Bitter Regret: The boss's appendages will either glow with a large circle in the middle or two small circles at the sides. The large circle in the middle will do a line AoE down the middle of the arena, while the small circle at the sides will do line AoEs at the sides of the arena.
- Poltergeist: A plus-shaped AoE that places a wall that living beings cannot cross.
- Memorial March: Summons ghosts. These will either tether to players or do a line AoE across the arena if spawned at the front of the arena. The tether must be taken away from the ghost to mitigate damage.
- Ghostduster: Instantly kills any spirits, with the message "Traumerei prepares a ward against spirits!"
- Fleshbuster: Instantly kills any living beings, with the message "Traumerei prepares a ward against the living!"
- Malicious Mist: Party-wide magical damage that inflicts a bleet DoT.
- Ghostcrusher: A line stack that deals magical damage.
The main mechanic of the fight is the spirit panels. Four panels will spawn on the arena that give or remove the Ghostly Guise buff. This turns players into spirits if they have it, and they are considered living beings if not. Spirits are able to pass through the wall created by Poltergeist, and are immune from Fleshbuster. Living beings are immune to Ghostduster. Swap between spirit and living to stretch the tether from Memorial March and to ensure that you do not die to either instant kill attack.
