Worqor Lar Dor Trial Guide
Welcome to our guide to Worqor Lar Dor, the first trial of Dawntrail. This guide aims to prepare players for the encounter so they will know what to expect, with simple mechanic instructions and notes on what to watch out for.
Introduction
In the lands of Tural, there is a class of beasts which transcends the limits of the natural order─the tural vidraal. The mightiest of these, the feared and fearsome Valigarmanda, caused centuries of suffering until it was at last sealed away in the mountain fastness of Urqopacha by a young Gulool Ja Ja. Eighty years later, however, a foolish claimant in the rite of succession has seen fit to release the Skyruin from its icy prison. If you would spare Tural's people a new age of terror, then you must stand with Wuk Lamat against this flying calamity and its endless elemental fury.
Unlock Requirements
Worqor Lar Dor can be unlocked at level 83 during the main scenario quest "The Skyruin". It is the first trial players will encounter in Dawntrail and is located in Urqopacha. Players above level 94 will be level synced to level 94 when entering.
Valigarmanda Trial Guide
Phase One
The fight has you on an elevated platform, meaning players can fall off. Valigarmanda is at the front of the arena at all times and has a large hitbox. Getting hit by any avoidable attack will inflict a stack of Trauma, damage down debuff, and DoT. Multiple stacks of Trauma will result in a Concussion, preventing any actions until the debuff expires or is cleansed.
Mechanics
- Tempestuous Wind: Valigarmanda begins to spin, doing a donut AoE in the centre of the room.
- Slithering Strike: Valigarmanda raises its arms, crashing down and doing a point-blank AoE.
- Wide-open Beak: Valigarmanda moves back and opens its mouth, doing a wide conal AoE.
- Skyruin: Deals massive raid-wide damage and changes the arena into lightning or ice. Inflicts a DoT debuff based on the arena.
- Ruinfall: Summons a shared tank tower in the middle of the arena that tanks need to mitigate and soak. Knocks back all players from the front of the arena and spawns AoEs in the back.
- Ruin Foretold: Summons Thunderous Beacon adds and starts generating Ruinous Power.
The following mechanics are used in the lightning phase.
- Thunderous Breath: A wide conal that covers the entire arena. Players levitating are immune.
- Hail of Feathers: Summons feathers on the arena that deals physical damage to the entire raid.
- Blighted Bolt: The feathers and all players levitating will explode in a point-blank AoE.
- Arcane Lightning: Spawns arcane runes at the edge of the arena that do a line AoE across.
- Disaster Zone: Heavy raid-wide damage and returns the arena to normal.
The following mechanics are used in the ice phase.
- Rumbling Avalanche: A large line AoE from the rear of the arena that spawns in the direction indicated.
- Freezing Dust: Freezes all players who are not moving at the end of the cast bar.
- Arcane Ice: Spawns ice runes that do line AoEs in eight directions.
Strategy
- Dodge the three different types of attacks. Valigarmanda will proceed to use Skyruin and phase the arena into either lightning or ice.
- In the lightning phase, levitate when necessary and stay away from the feathers.
- In the ice phase, dodge the avalanche and make sure to move at the end of Freezing Dust. Break frozen players out.
- After one set of each Skyruin phase, the boss will cast Ruin Foretold and become untargetable.
Adds Phase
The boss becomes invulnerable, untargetable, and summons three Thunderous Beacon adds. It will also start generating Ruinous Power. If it reaches 100, the party will wipe.
Mechanics
- Calamitous Cry: Multiple conal AoEs with a line marker stack. The boss gains a damage up stack for each cast.
- Tulidisaster: The boss deals heavy magic damage to all players three times in succession.
Strategy
- Stack together for Calamitous Cry towards the inside of the arena. Kill all adds before Ruinous Power is allowed to reach 100.
Phase Two
After Tulidisaster is cast, all players are inflicted with Perpetual Conflagration, causing them to take increased damage and damage over time.
Mechanics
Valigarmanda adds the following mechanics:
- Eruption: Ground AoEs baited on random players.
Strategy
- Make sure to keep the party healthy from the consistent DoT damage.
- The fight continues as before, with Skyruin changing the arena t lightning or ice.
