Zodiac Braves Relic Weapons Guide for FFXIV

It is finally time to upgrade your weapon into a Zodiac Braves weapon! This changes it into an entirely new weapon. This stage is a lot more involved than some of the other stages and requires more than a simple grind.

After finishing your Nexus Weapon, you can accept the quest Wherefore Art Thou, Zodiac by again speaking to Jalzahn. This is a quick quest that unlocks more quests related to this upgrade step. These quests and their rewards are listed below.

Each quest requires a collection of items with some being purchased from vendors, crafted in HQ and obtained via dungeon drops. Accept all 4 quests at the same time to make this much easier. Additionally, it is important to be aware of the fact that Dungeon drops can only be gathered once you complete the purchase and crafted items, they will not drop if they are not the current quest objective.

Once each quest is complete, you can complete the quest His Dark Materia by speaking to Gerolt back in North Shroud. During this quest the dialogue will tell you there is only a 1.4% chance of success and otherwise the relic will be lost. This is a joke and there is a 100% chance of success.

These items are all purchased from various vendors. This costs a total of 400,000 gil, 80,000 GC Seals and 800 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics. Grand Company Seals are easily obtained from spamming dungeons and exchanging the gear for seals. As for making gil, it can highly depend on your server. Lower investment options for gil include completing dailies in need, scrip farming, selling low level Carpenter furnishings or low level gathering.

These items can either be crafted in Master Recipes (1) books or purchased directly from the Market Board which is the faster, but generally the more expensive, option.

If you plan to craft these items, one of the key items are only available via Desynthesis. You do not need to have leveled your classes desynthesis level at all. But that crafter does need to be level 30.
