  1. Hi all, While beginning mythic Hellfire Citadel progression, I find my dps as an arcane mage subpar compared with what the spec can do, and sometimes even a liability for the group. One typical example of this is on Hellfire High Council, where I play with the following talents: Unstable Magic Rune of Power Prismatic Crystal My armory is here. To sum it up: - Haste then mastery then nothing else if possible - 4-part T18, legendary ring. - Trinkets: Archimonde (normal) and Mannoroth (heroic). - Full heroic gear + crafts -> 715 average ilv. This is supposed to be a very decent setup f
  2. As Krazyito found out, someone has already done the job. This is on MMO-Champion In fact, every time the 2P bonus summons a hero, a summoning event is created in the combat log. The event ids are distinct for every of the 4 possible heroes. So the idea is to create a dynamic group with 4 icons, 1 per hero event, and each with a hide timer of 10 s. The whole stuff can be imported from the link above - just check the "source unit" box on every icon and set it to "player", so you don't track the buffs of fellow mages. Enjoy, and thanks Krazyito for taking the time to look into this ! D
  3. Hi all, I'd like to properly track 4-part T18 procs for the arcane mage. The buff is called "Temporal Power" (id 190623). Here is how it works. Through the 2-part bonus, a hero may pop for 10s when casting arcane missiles (35 % chance). This means that several heroes may be present at once (3 is not unusual). Every hero gives a stacking 12% damage buff. This "Temporal Power" buff can be tracked with WeakAuras, but the problem is twofold: - It has no remaining duration. - It has no number of stacks. This is because the timer is independant for each hero. Here is a screenshot showing 3 procs
  4. Hi all, I play a mage in PvE and, like many, I like to get the highest possible dps. This is especially true because our raid could benefit from more dps. My main spec is fire, which I have been using all through MoP, except in 5.1 when arcane shone (or was OP, your choice ). So far I have been doing OK with fire (5.0, 5.2, 5.3) and arcane (5.1). In 5.4, I am not very satisfied with my dps. In the 10 NM stats from raidbots.com, I noticed how, relative to other specs (i.e. spec score), the fire mage dps has decreased in 5.4 while arcane went through the roof. Same when going through wo

Hi, Excellent guide as always ! A few comments after our kill in 10 man. For us, apart from the mechanics, this fight was quite a difficult dps+hps check (using 3 healers). As some pointed out, sending 2 dps's at once to the tests creates too much chaos in the normal world, especially when the raid is short on dps. Also, as there is no penalty for a tank to take the test at 100 corruption, we sent the first tank on the second wave (first was dps+healer). I confirm that the enrage timer is 7 min (oh yes it is ! ). Big Wigs is the winner here. Regarding the small adds (essence o
  6. Hi, A few comments on the suggested mage build for Tortos. We are just starting on this one and I tried it with most of the site's suggestions on my fire mage. Blazing Speed Not my cup of tea. You have to move a lot so this comes too infrequently IMO. I went Ice Floes, which is certainly good once you get accustomed to it, but I think I will use the standard Presence of Mind for the next trys. Temporal Shield Must have ! This is ideal right before Quake Stomp, your healers will love you. Ice Barrier Why not, but the main advantage is against pushback, so only useful if bats are bothering y
