This post is old, but just wanted to mention that if you are using the ring on the add waves, which most do... You can do just as much if not more dmg to the Phantom add by full on AoE than single targeting it. Just go AoE ham and let the ring proc do the rest. I make sure I have 4 embers and both conflag charges. Immo, CB, Conflag, CB, Conflag, CB, Incin, CB, Conflag, CB, etc

I don't think it will feel as bad as Aff though. With Aff and SB:H, if you got RNG fucked and couldn't reapply SB:Haunt, You are basically doing half dmg for all your dmg sources. Getting a dry spell where you may not be able to cast CB wont effect your other sources of DMG. Will still Suck, but wont suck nearly as much IMO.

Mastery -> Who cares -> Vers Preference to Mastery -> Crit .. but as long as it has Mastery you cant go wrong.

If you are not using Lust on pull, it likely means you have a dps check you are saving it for, in which case holding your DG for it is a no brainer. For me its not really about where it does the most dmg, but where its dmg is needed.

I'd stick with Class trinket for Gorefiend. I get that its not strong for target swapping, which is a large forcus for the fight, however its hands down the best option for the 3 minutes of 100% extra dmg when you are actually killing the boss during Feasts. You are not relying on trinket procs to kill the adds...

TBH, what pisses me off more than the presumed loss of Meta is those mouth breathers who talk down players for being upset at it being removed... because of "Well actually Warlocks stole it from DH first.." bullshit *I* didn't design the fucking class, Blizz did. I have every right to be upset at my favorite part of the class being taken away because they didn't have the foresight to not give it to us in the first place. /rant Affliction was ruined for me when they removed Shadowbolt...Chaotic Resources ruined Destruction. Demo was the only spec left I enjoyed. Really hoping 7

The main issue with Demo is honestly not just its output potential as much as the designs of the fights just do not suit it as well. Previous tier, outside of a few fights that required burst single target (cannons on Thogar, pillars on kologan 2.0) all adds were just fluff. You padded if you focused and it was stressed to passively cleave them more than anything. This tier? Just about every fight has "has to die asap" adds. On a few fights, despite the nerfs...Demo's burst aoe in combination with the old 4p still made it superior for dealing with a few niech encounters such as korm

I tried swapping out my Fragment on our Progression and while it gave slightly better results during the initial split phase, it quickly fell behind once we collapsed at the 3min mark and went AoE ham. You may not be able to get max stacks for your CB's on the prio targets, but you should have max stacks for cleaving the Shadowburns off them.

Destro/? Destro can do well for all fights. Aff/Demo may be slightly better on a few fights, but Destro Destro Destro

Start by binding just your main filler like Incinerate. Once that feels normal, bind something else. You dont need to go ham and bind everything then feel out of sorts with your play, ease into it.

I was hoping it would be a thing after the Mastery Buffs but it does not sound like it will be the case. Furty was talking in the Lock IRC the other day and mentioned that Demo performed decently well on some of the add fights since the buffs. I asked if he has used Cata or just stuck with Demonbolt. He said after messing around with a bunch of talents he settled on DB. From what I have seen of the fights that include adds(which addmitedly is not a hell of a lot), Cataclysm just doesn't fit as well as it did with Darmac and Thogar. Take Mannoroth for example.
