That spreadsheet is simmed from SimC. It's also quite well known that hunters don't have the greatest gains comparatively from Protector tokens. They'll probably go to Ele shammies first, then warriors, and finally hunters. Heck monks will probably even get it before us due to the monk buff coming up.
-
The classes, specs and talents are designed to specialize. These changes will be pretty huge for hunters.
-
You can easily find this out by simming yourself and inputting weights in Pawn or comparing them from the Wowhead output link.
-
They can be a bad thing due to how good one stat is in relation to another. Whilst one MS at 1000 MS is worth like 4.0 DPS, at 2000MS, the 1000 increase in MS might not be as great as a 1000 stat optimal spread across the other secondaries. This is exactly what the golden ratios revolve around. Another way to think of it is that at 0% crit it has no affect on our DPS, but as crit gets higher its contribution to our DPS becomes far greater.
-
They're probably using golden ratios which Effin has talked about in the SV EJ thread. Essentially, these are the golden ratios where output is highest for SV: MS: 1400 - 1650 Crit: 800 - 1250 Mastery: 500 - 850 Haste: 400 - 600 Versatility: 300 - 500 This means when stats are above/below this range, their worth is magnified/reduced.
-
You'll need to rely on Effins sims on EJ for trinkets.

http://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveWoW/search?q=simcraft&restrict_sr=on&sort=relevance&t=all I wrote these three guides on /r/competitivewow for this exact purpose.

Whilst they have less ticks, you'll notice that their ticks will do more damage. ES clipping was changed since mop and whilst the rebuff refreshes, the old damage will simply carry over instead of being overwritten. Barrage is also a minor DPS gain on single target, definitely not the 14% you put it to be for them, or 10% for you.
-
Dunno what you've done, there's no need to put both strings twice in the same profile. Once you sim, it'll say at the top of the profile details what addition parameters were added.
-
Both your questions are answered in the stickied threads at the top of this forum.

Obviously YMMV, did this with only 10k sims, 450s fight dur, 20% duration variance, single target. Quick sim with my char with these settings: For SV: armory=us,aman'thul,syncness name=Sync_SV talents=0003132 copy=Sync_SV_2pc set_bonus=tier17_2pc=1 talents=0003132 copy=Sync_SV_4pc set_bonus=tier17_4pc=1 talents=0003132 Results: 2pc: 642 dps 4pc: 1389 dps 2pc to 4pc: 747 dps For MM: cbf changing enchants to crit, current on multi armory=us,aman'thul,syncness name=Sync_MM spec=marksmanship talents=0003333 copy=Sync_MM_2pc set_bonus=tier17_2pc=1 talents=0003333 spec=ma

Keep in mind that most of the damage padding on Imp is from adds, but don't mistake this for damaging adds over mages/reaver or maintaining raid health because even if you're top DPS if the raid wipes because add explosions was too much then what's the point?

Whilst Az's tone is very aggressive and possibly elitist, he did pioneer the main hunter guides on IV as well as MMO-C. In any case, I'd have to admit that the loss in mobility from SF/FS is most likely not worth it in Mythic Highmaul despite SimC producing higher numbers.

Expected much more class from the pioneer of the hunter thread at MMO-C.
