Dont aim for 20% haste. Haste is only ever better than mastery if you are close to a breakpoint (an extra DA cast)
-
So yeah its gonig to boil down to whether you will get an extra arbiter in. A 2min fight would only allow 2 arbiters with COF, a 3½min fight would only allow 3 arbiters with COF, etc. Its hard to know beforehand, especially with pugs. And yes i would always wait for 6 stacks, unless it would severely screw your timings up later (mistress mythic bufferfish or something similiar). The army on 7 seconds just seems wasted, you get the 2-piece dmg bonus but you lose so many seconds of it. The reason you cast a deathcoil between dark arbiter and dark transformation

So i've compiled a very long list of stuff you could've done better. My startpoint is your goroth HC log. Setup choices: Gear: Most of your stuff is unechanted and gemmed poorly - stack mastery in EVERYTHING, even over 200 str etc. Talent choices: Since the fight is just barely 3 mins long you would only ever be able to fit in 2 dark arbiters, so you get 0 benefit from using shadow infusion and COF combo. This combo only helps if it allows you to fit another DA in. Opener: With 16% haste you prolly want to army at 6 seconds before, not earlier. You want

The wrist are absolutely garbage for dark arbiter build, i would definitely take the ring/KJ just for raw stats and probably a even better effect, even on single target. And they far outshine wrist on aoe. I don't really get why you want to test a single target combination on the most aoe heavy boss in Tomb. However for host u can go defile with helm/ring or DA with shoulder+ring. I don't get why u swap targets on host, you should cleave off the boss to the adds - even if uswap target a lot u shouldnt lose out on wounds - build wounds up on each target, pop DnD and eat them all with sc

I would agree here that your haste is dropping too low with the new ring (your versatility seems awfully high aswell), however don't understimate mastery, i would probably even call it your best stat for pure survivability after 30% haste. Mastery got a lot better with the new traits.

First of, lets get this out of thew way: Versa buffs all your damagedone, including pets. 1% versa will net you more damage than 1% mastery. However, getting 1% mastery requires WAYYYYYYY less rating of that stat (lets say 1400 mastery vs 3000 versa per 1%). Those are not accurate numbers, but you should get the idea. Therefore mastery severely outperforms versatility in terms of damage, since the majority of your damage is shadow.

I would agree with shells here, prydaz maybe swap with belt on certains fights, both seems decently useful for most parts.

Dont listen to all those other tips: Go Dark Arbiter build, stack mastery and burst the bitch down before she even does mechanics. killed her in like 40 secs, no need to try and do add management

Unholy was better than frost in all 3 raids in WOD dude, it was actually one of the best specs in the first 2 raids of all classes due to the consistensy of their dps.

Legendary ring + non crafted belt are BY FAR the best single target dps legendaries, the crafted one does not even come close.

Yeah what you find here on icy veins is never ment to be for the top loggers, Icy veins is a beginner guide and always will be. The top trinkets for any fight of significant length are going to be Eye of Command and Convergence of Fate. The top legendaries will be ring + belt for single and wrist for aoe burst. The reason you don't see COF good on sims is because sim's have a 5min fight length, meaning the benefit of an extra HRW is diminished significantly, the fights in NH is however of varying length with multiple different mechanics. Another good point to this is that, while

With the current tier piece procing rime of obliterates quite frequently and most people stacking HB relics + mastery gear, howling blast and remorless winter buildup with gathering storm just does so much aoe dmg spamming frostscythe just can't compete with it. And as far as i know machinegun build was never about froscythe?

Sindragosa's fury doesn't scale of haste anyways so timing it with lust makes very little sense. Just pop it like 10 seconds into the fight when you have popped your pillar and is about to use breath and got the 5x razorice stacks rolling. With regards to PoF it shouldn't be too hard just to press it once every minute, meaning every other is ready with breath. In order to get good logs you need to get HB relics (a HB relic is still better at like 25-30 ilvls lower than amberdextity ones) and need the convergence of fate to make every breath reliably good with HRWs. Also you can't read too much

Im going to compare our logs on heroic star augur: I got 100% rank on it on my kill, it was a 3min 15 second fight: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/HKjXhbznrT7qcy13#fight=22&type=damage-done&source=19 You got a 20% rank on your kill, lasting just 5 min. https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/XK3AxBPyczCrb7D1#fight=7&type=damage-done&source=9 First off: despite my fight being WAY shorter i managed to fit in 2 sindragosa's fury, you should've atleast been able to fit 2 in. Same for your breath - on a 5+ minute fight you really should have been

Okay let's go through this log as if it were your optimal setup then. First off the fight is 3 min 15 seconds long, you should be able to fit 2 sindragosa's fury and 3 kil'jaedens inside this window, you only fitted 1 and 2. And you cast your sindragosa without having pillar of frost on - huge loss. At the same time you only used 1 prepot, you should always fit a second one in if you are looking for optimal dps. Now to breath duration and HRW management. Your first breath is a tad bit short, seems like you could try to push off the HRWs for as long as possible. Your second breath w
