Zattori 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) I'm currently a disc priest for my guild and I'm looking for to see if there's something I'm doing wrong as disc. Currently fighting mythic Brackenspore, there is one specific part where the tanks are just dropping like flies: when the first add comes up and the necrotic breath comes out. I understand that they cannot recieve any healing during this time, but I feel as though when we get to this part of the fight, I'm doing something wrong. Also something to consider, should I try going holy this fight? Most of the time my actual healing is low compared to some of our other healers (I also include they do have a CD that gives them more healing compared to barrier.) Can someone look through my logs and point me into a direction as to what I'm doing wrong or right for this fight, and if I should also consider holy for this fight with my current gear.Logs for our Brackenspore fights tonight: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/XHtr2MkV9fG7JZ4T#fight=17 My armory: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/skywall/Prosiden/advanced Any kind of help is appreciated, all I want to do is help my guild progress and fix any errors that I am currently doing. massac0r 3 Report post Posted January 22, 2015 with your gear I would stay disc, and I personally think disc is the best for that fight because of clarity of will while you cannot heal through necrotic breath, you can absorb it. So stack up a COW on the tank that's about to take Breath, and if you don't do it beforehand, you could always either 1) throw a PS on them ASAP (as long as your raid is ok with it) or 2) quickly stack up COW on them during Breath so they don't die right after from Rot or melee attacks or whatever to me it looks like there is nothing wrong with your rotation. If you can afford the time and mana, spam the raid with PW:S just before Infesting Spores, and as it is going out cast POH on a party with empowered archangel followed by cascade, then keep spamming shields if Infesting Spores is still being channeled.. this will be a considerably large amount of raid healing toget you caught up or above those cheaters with 3 min CDs ;) I hope this was helpful.. and I hope others can give you advice as I've only participated in M Brackenspore once
Zattori 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2015 Edited it because I realized I derped on my first question on the second fight. How can you go healer when you're already a healer?! Thanks for the advice so far Mass, most of the time I do my best to try to get PW:S on everybody with PI during the Necrotic breath. Typically we save PS on the tank during the first add phase, the one that is typically tanking the next Necrotic breath. The only issue that we're having is that the tank just drops, I believe the one that is tanking the first add with the Rot stacks. Maybe he is getting hit by the breath during this time? I don't know, honestly. I know my biggest issue is stacking my AA. Most of the time it's either I focus it way to much or focus little on it. I do appreciate that advice and I'll start trying it on my next attempts tomorrow.
Bobbyjensen6000 17 Report post Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) As you said yourself your EAA activation is really low. I checked some of your wipes and on the 3-4 minute ones you only had 2-3 EAA activates. You can do much better. You should pretty much sit on the tanks the whole fight and throw out EAA PoH+Barrier out during spores on the tank group. Track the Necrotic breath timer via any bossmod and make sure you have the Necrotic Breath debuff added into whatever healing addon your using. If you stack up Clarity of Will on the tank prior to Necrotic Breath and have a PW:S on him, he should never drop. And if thats the case then use Pain Supression. Also I would never use Penance offensively. It is far too good for that. Since the issue is tanks dying and not really anything else, just sit on the tanks. I think you might have too much focus on shielding the entire raid. You have a Monk+Druid+Shammy who has great cd's during Spores and can take care of the raid. But assist them by using Barrier when their cd's are down or they need it. Also remember to use Spectral Guise to remove Spores. Edit: Just checked Damage Taken and it seems that the Spore shots are sometimes hitting the raid, this shouldn't happen.
