Blackrock Foundry - No Multistrike Items

Hey,

I'm wondering if Frostmage will be useless with 6.1, due to the fact that there're nearly no items with Multistrike on them coming.

 

Will Fire or Arcane take the lead?

 

I'd like to play fire again but I guess Frost is still stronger if you have about ~660 itemlvl, isn't it?

Hey,

 

they are a few multistrike items on blackrock foundry :

 

-Waist

-offhand

-feet,

-back

-and of course the blackhand trinket.

 

Plus the arcano shatter legs and robes give you also nice multistrike bonuses :

The rest, you an easily find on highmaul, heroic or mythic, depending of the level you are playing. Highmaul will become easier since people will become more powerful thanks to the blackrock foundry normal/heroic gear, so maybe mythic will be doable by your guild.

Short subjective answer, i think you will easily be able to make a decent frost gear if you really want to keep that spec. Whatever you can't find on highmaul will be on the foundry and vice versa. You should keep the spec you are the most confortable with, but if uou want to switch, it will also be rather easy.

 

If you are a top tier guild that want to get the first down of your server,  i guess maybe the answer is different, but i don't play myself at that level. I play arcane since the beginning of highmaul, and even i can't find mastery gear (and especially trinkets) there, i am still very happy with the spec :)

Yes, these are the items I wound as well.

Compared to Highmaul, I'll probably change my feet and my back and if I'll come that far the trinket too. I've got the craftet waist and without a mainhand I guess the staff from Tectus will be stronger.

 

I'm clear in HC and got 663 itemlvl but there"re only few guilds on my server doing Myhic (my guild is 6/7 nhc but friends>progress ;) ).

 

Usually I played Fire, because it was fun, buy due to the crap dmgoutput I switched to Frost for Highmaul. So maybe I'll be able to play fire again with Foundry gear and the buff that's coming with 6.1 for Firemages :)

Certain items--most notably the obsidian choker from twins--from highmaul will still be relevant to frost in blackrock. If a piece of gear has your two best stats on it but is 10 or less item levels lower than a new piece of gear that does not have ANY desirable stats, you can assume that the gain in intellect is not worth dropping the secondary stats. However, if you have a 15 ilvl upgrade in a piece of gear, it will be worth the sacrifice.

One very important note: higher ilvl weapons are always an upgrade due to the increased int and raw spellpower.

Oh anf of course, i forgot that crafting can fill some of the slots where you can't find good drop in raid.

So if you are in the friends>progress mood, i think you can definitly stick to the spec that you prefer. Keep also in mind that even if arcane seems to be superior on paper, whenever you enter a fight requiring a lot of movement, we lose a ton of dps (Tectus/twins are good examples).

There is not really a lack of Multistrike, iirc there were 80% of items with at least MS on them. The differance is that there are now Crit and Mastery pieces meaning Fire and Arcane get ahead. It's not the lakc of gear for frost, but the better optimization on certain pieces for Fire and Arcane

Yes, that's what I ment Berlinia. The items from the Foundry are optimized for Fire/Arcane and not for Frost. So in the beginning of the coming content Frostmages have to keep their gear from Highmaul or switch to one of the other specs to use the new items, I guess.

With the changes to haste, the lineup of items dropped in Blackrock actually isn't too bad. One thing that concerns me is a 15% nerf to frost's mirror images.

What changes of haste are you talking about? I thing I haven't read about that yet. But the 15% mirror images nerf will be quite bad I think... But I haven't compared them to the other specs.

1% haste is now gained every 90 haste instead of 100, which makes raw haste on gear 11.1% stronger. Our stat priority for haste has changed a lot.

Well this BiS list is only consisted of blacrock mythic warforged items, i don't think it is really relevant for 99.9% of the players here :)

thats not completly true, since a HM HC item e.g. the Head with Mastery/Multi would be way better then the Head with crit/vers on normal BF, its even very similar DPS-wise to the HC Head of BF.

 

So its a little more complicated then just swapping the Difficulty

Sure, but the HC BF item will be better than the HC HM item. Thats what im trying to say. 15 ilvls will almost always be an upgrade regardless of the stats.

Comparing the two raids in the safe difficulty is irrelevant.

 

Of course the BF loots are far stronger for the same difficulty, but a guild struggling on a certain difficulty in highmaul won't most likely be able to tackle the foundry at the same difficulty.

 

Let's make a BiS item list without including the BF MM difficulty (so with HM mythic and BF HM), and i am pretty sure there will be a mix of the two instances.

 

But this is also an ideal case, some guilds won't be able to raid HM MM difficulty because their roster is too small. Well, just try to grab whatever you can.

      I am a 724 frost mage and I was wondering about my stat priority with current gear. I have the 4pc and Tome of Shifting Words. I was under the impression that with that gear I would want to prioritize Haste over Multistrike with gear and enchants. My guild mate told me that Haste used to be the best stat, but now Multistrike is better again for the 4pc/Tome combo. I can't find anywhere online that confirms this. Can someone give me there thoughts?

      I have a few questions about BoS, legendary ring, multistrike, trinkets and general dps tips as a blood dk.

      I am currently 13/13hc thanks to pugs, not going to MM yet since my guild is still progressing through hc. I have been stacking mastery to increase my survivability and so far it worked fine for me but I will get my legendary ring next reset and the 50% bonus dmg on use appeals me, since it is on a 2mn cd I imagine that it is possible to get insane damages if paired with BoS and dps trinkets. 
      Here are my few questions
       Will BoS be a decent increase even if I do not have an optimised multistrike gear ? I can push it to 1k5 unbuffed currently  If I use BoS, is it worth it to use socketed normal Hellrender (343 multistrike) instead of hc Calamity's edge ?  Does a multistrike gear nerfs my mitigation by a lot compared to a mastery build ? This is my main concern, I'm scared to switch from mast to ms and be unable to tank hc properly  With a mstrike build, which dps trinkets should I use out of normal EDH, normal DC and HC Pebble ? What kind of pull do I have to do ? I imagine something along the lines of 6s army > 1s prepot > taunt > pop ring and DRW > BB > BB > DS > DS > BoS > unglyphed OB > ERW > DS > DS > PL > DS > BB > BB I have seen a few Blood dk having 6 death runes at once, does someone know how it can be done ? Seems to be a huge gain on ST fights where you can pretty much spam DS

      So I am not very good at reading logs, I simply just get confused trying to figure it all out, so I'm hoping maybe one of you would be willing to break this down for me like you're talking to a 5th grader.
       
      So, Eyeball (me) cannot seem to keep up with my guildie Spingy, however according to our armories, I'm only one item level lower. However, looking at the logs I'm about to post, he kicked my ass shamefully. This is just one sloppy kill of Flamebender on mythic, but it's a good example of the average difference between he and I.
       
      So, logs:
       
      Eyeball: Mythic Flamebender Ka'graz
      Spingy: Mythic Flamebender Ka'graz
       
      You can see on our kill that I wasn't even close in DPS, and I really can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm hoping someone can give me some feedback on what to do (or not to do) to pull my numbers up.

      Vanguard Of The Red (H-Turalyon) is recruiting Dpriest & Rdruid heals a Mage and a few additional DPS. (Prefer a resto druid and rogue/warrior) We're looking to fill out our HBrf core and continue to recruit for mythic content. 
       
      Raid nights are set for Tues and Thurs 8:30-11:30 EST. Alt gearing runs set for sundays or mondays.
      What were're looking for: all roles, we currently have 9 raiders in our core, we need to fill out more spots to clear heroic BRF and gear for Mythic progression.
       
      Specifically we would like a Resto Druid & Disco Priest healers, a mage and one additional DPS of any class. All specs and classes are welcome though, but we're looking for maximum output and solid raid comp. 
       
      We base or raid strats on personal experience in the fights and the guild Vox Immortalis strat videos. We're organized and serious about wanting to progression raid, we will raid with dedication, you will be expected to show up on time, know your role and requirements for each fight, how to apply your skills and abilities to each boss mechanic. You will be pushed, and you will be expected to exceed expectations.
       
      Who we're looking for: Experienced adult players who want to truly test their skills in heroic, and potentially, mythic end game content. You should be familiar with your class and spec, understand the fights, be willing to adapt to evolving mechanics and strategies and have an ilvl of 670 or better.( If you're close we will consider helping the right people to gear fully.)
       
      Who we don't want: Screamers, ragers or uptight stress filled players. It's a game, realize sometimes even the best players makes a mistake and enjoy the game.
       
      Our guild is a social and active guild, we want to raid, learn and progress through bosses at a steady pace, we're not worried about server firsts, top 50 rankings or any other high stress generating artificial means of measuring success. We want a team of people who enjoy the game, enjoy the lore and enjoy each others company. A caustic, sarcastic and raunchy sense of humor is nearly as important as skill. I can help you be a better raider, I can't help you be a better person.
