Also, is Warzechian Armguards viable for the Furious Charge IK dominant spec (since it scales with Standoff)?

Interesting thought! Can be good for speed farming, yes. They will augment your burst while procced. In GR progression you won't survive without Ancient Parthan Defenders though.

I don't think you should remove the Focus & Restraint completely. Its still just better for speed farming if you have low paragons as survivability isn't much of an issue if you one-shot everything. (If ground effects kill you, you can always add an esoteric)

If the point of speed farming is pure speed though, running Avarice + globe collection build is going to be far faster, since you are moving through the rift a lot faster. You should be able to comfortably clear mobs without F+R on T13 speeds.

Speedfarming doesn't specify Torments though (unless I missed it). 70s are just as fast with this build but don't drop gold and as such the averice band is useless. I think it should be mentioned as an option. Its not my guide but I thought I'd mention it.

It does specify that the build is aimed at Nephalem rifts (the build's named Normal Rift Speed Farming Variation after all), and it is mentioned that the build does well in Bounties as well, though with the exception of single-target bounties, where the build slows down.

Hello,

Very nice guide and with all the items illustrated and coloured, the reading experience is so much better!

A couple of questions regarding my own builds and then on the build presented here :

1) Does Furious Charge (FC) proc Strong Arm Bracers (SAD)?

If yes, does it proc on the first charge through or after the first charge? My thinking is my build currently pretty much one shots all mods (expect elites, that would take 2 or 3 charges max) in solo T13 and GR70, if the buff is only procced after the first charge, then it wouldn't really benefit my build (I would use it in group maybe or Bounties so I won't be one shotting most mobs)

2) Does attack speed affect FC in any way (+dps over time?), and if yes, it is even relevant?

Sure, CHD, CHC and for GR pushing Area Damage will be the most desirable stats right now, but what after the rest of the stats priority? How does IAS stack up against other stats?

3) The gameplay of FC barb is revolving around "charging through" mobs rather than "charging on" mobs (while carefully managing the Raekor set reset bonus), but how much distance from any mob I should take into account when aiming to "charge through"?

If I travel too much distance, I may as well aim at a spot across the screen then charge back to the other side of the screen (for the purpose of giving an exagerrated example). Then I'd lose dps since the whole animation would take too long, in a useless way. It's a bit technical but some illustration would be very much appreciated.

Now on this build presented here :

On leg gems, why not use Wraith of Lighting instead of Esoteric? Top GR pushing build right now seems to go with Wraith + Bane of the trapped + Bane of the Stricken?

A lot of questions, thanks in advance! Cheeers!

Thank you for the detailed build and all the explanations on how it all works. I don't play enough to figure any of it out on my own so I just copy+paste your builds and it's great! I also found many variations of DB farming builds, which one of them do you think is the best?

Yes, it does. It procs only after the first charge, since FC stuns after the damage is applied. It will apply to every other cast after that for 6 seconds, refreshed as soon as you charge again.

IAS is an incredibly low priority for FC. I would take a survivability stat over it. It has absolutely no effect on the damage output of FC, unless you run a generator on 1 target, which this build doesn't. The only benefit in the build would be to increase Ancient Spear usage, but even then, it's not worth it.

This is something that is going to change a great deal depending on what you are up against. If you are still stacking mobs in preparation for killing them, charge through completely to the other side, so that mobs follow you and group up. If you have them stacked and there is no priority target, charge through the pack. You can charge max distance through them, it won't matter. If there is  a priority target, you should be charging only enough that you cover his hitbox. Leaving an elite up with deadly affixes is a one way ticket to dying. Focus your damage on him, any area damage you do is just a small bonus.

Esoteric is simply there to make up for unideal gear. With great rolls and great gear, you can drop it and still survive comfortably. Wrath is then used for the speed increase to make Charges move faster.

Ok for Strong Arms Bracers

About IAS, I'm asking about this one because I currently have a bad rolled Avarice Band with IAS on it, was wondering whether it had any significant output. Now that you've said it, I will try to farm another one.

On the charging distance : Ok. I like your analysis ^^ If there is only one target left, then I should just keep the FC skill button down and follow the hitbox.

I have 2 other questions :

- Is the FC animation cancel trick with Force move still a thing or has it definitely been patched?

- Also, for GR speed build (for me, up to GR80 now), I have been swapping between Stone of Jordan with a matching Ele dmg% and the regular Convention of Element. I have not been able to determine which one would be better, also the SoJ rolls kind of unique combination of stats (Ele dmg, Elite dmg, primary stat + other random stats) because I wasn't sure how the maths in that case would work "theorically". Can someone share some insight?

Cheers, @Blainie

It's patched. You can't use force move to interrupt the cast anymore.

This will depend on your current setup on wrists and neck. If you have Ele% damage on Neck and Wrists, then run CoE. If you only have it on one of them, run SoJ for speeds. Still run CoE for pushing though.

Heya - I was confused a little about your comment, because I definitely recommend running 3 IK and 5 Raekor + RoRG, so you get the 4p IK bonus and 6p Raekor bonus! :) If there was any confusion about that - apologies!

Heya, it's been a while since I revisited the build, but I reckon it had to do with getting more Life per Fury spent by skipping RCR. I will look into the damage aspect that you bring up however, and make fixes accordingly! :)

Hey Deadset.

Love your guides...my go-to every time!

Yes, I was confused by this, because the guide basically recommends Raekor as the BEST IN SLOT all down the list, so you end up with 6 Raekor and 2 IK. I was about to start testing with alternatives for the Cubed Grandeur slot, but since I've found this I probably won't bother now.

This might explain why I thought the RIK combination was weak the last time I tried it with 6 Raekor, and 2 IK (so missing set bonuses!).

Mechanics of this build are garbage. If you don't score crit with your spender you lose all the fury for nothing. You either pack a punch or tickle. It took me some time to learn to use the charge correctly, but man, using the spender is such a disappointment at times.

Also this game needs some ui tweaks, so we could easier monitor the buffs/stacks.

I don't know, I don't like this build. I miss the times of ww+hota barb :(

Hi. I'm a bit confused. Full set of Raekor or IK? If full set of IK boulder toss is kinda..useless. I'm experience significant downtime for Wrath of Berserker.

The fact that you can't kill groups of mobs between 2 and 5 makes this so horrible for general use. Maybe it's fine for g rifts, but I have missed so many goblins now in rifts due to the lack of ability to moderate furious charge cooldowns. I've completely dropped it at this point after completely missing a gelatinous in my last run. So frustrating and unfun.

I've been using this build and its really fun but I've been using seismic slam since those were the pieces i found from the start. Is ancient spear better for going higher or are they both equal?

I doubt it - but I would bet your gear is slightly worse than what you were used to at the end of last season, which would have the effect you describe.

The issue you are encountering is most likely due to the "dead zone" of the build where if you hit more than 1 target (only hitting 1 target refunding the charge per Raekor 2-pc) but less than the necessary number of targets to reduce the cooldown (based on the Merciless Assault rune reducing CD by 2s per target hit and modified by your Barb's CDR) then you can still lose your charges. For me this is often if there are 2 targets, or possibly 3 if I hammer at them long enough. This is frequently an issue when a mob pack is dwindling in numbers, or when charging at mobs (especially elites or RGs) which summon creatures, creating 2 targets instead of 1.

Hit one target = full charges!
Hit more than 2 or 3 targets = full charges! (with enough CDR)
Hit between 1 and 3 targets = probably losing charges ?

You can compensate for this by either improving your CDR on gear, using a Gogok of Swiftness which offers CDR in place of a legendary gem slot, or being more aware of the number of targets you charge and avoiding your dead zone numbers.

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.

Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. This fourth slot will have the choices of the first 3 slots but will not stack with any of them, providing additional flexibility to your build. Return to Top Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to any who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 33, this means awards originally available from Season 9 are returning to the Season Journey. However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve already participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Here are the challenges you’ll face: For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at level 70 on Torment X or higher. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped. And lastly we'll be bringing back Speed Demon/Need for Speed, meaning you'll need to beat a Torment X Nephalem Rift at Level 70 in 2 minutes. Best of luck! Return to Top Haedrig’s Gift

While the focal point of the 2.7.8 PTR is to test technical updates for Mac, we want PC users to monitor their playing experience as well. If you experience any stability issues or difficulties in connecting with Mac players, please give us that feedback. Return to Top

Here's a preview of Season 33 and Patch 2.7.8 that will soon be available for testing on the PTR.
      Shades of Nephalem Theme
In the latest Diablo III Season, the Shades of Nephalem season theme marks a return. Activating a Shrine or Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class. The clone's power wil scale with your character and last for one minute or until death.

      Fourth Kanai's Cube Slot
In addition to the season theme, Kanai's Cube will have an additional fourth slot.

      Season 33 Start?
We expect Season 33 to start in late September/early October 2024.
      PTR Testing
Patch 2.7.8 will be available for testing for one week. Initially, Blizzard planned to test out the patch from September 17 through September 24, but they ran into some unexpected issues and testing has been delayed. New Mac executables for Silicon and Intel chips will be available in this build, as revealed by Blizzard.
