It would be best if you could link your character.

Do you use your Templar as companion? If no, use him. He is the most useful by far. Make sure you have equipped him with the most useful items. (Like described in the guide.)

Outside of Archon TeleportTeleport Safe PassageSafe Passage  is very helpful. And try to keep on moving to get your damage reduction up.

Ice ArmorIce Armor is activated I guess. Halo of ArlyseHalo of Arlyse is very important too.

With all these items you shouldn't have big toughness issues till you are way in the 80th.

How big is your healthpool? Maybe you are extremly low on Vit.

I'm curious to know if one could use this set with a different skill setup, since I'm not a big fan of popping in/out of archon. Say, disintegrate (convergence rune) as main damage ability, with mammoth or blazing hydra and blizzard (apocalypse rune) to ignite everything, with a Hergbrash's binding to reduce AP cost, and Deathwish to boost disintegrate damage.

I'm testing it now, still trying to get some pieces, but thoughts on how that might fare in GR?

1) You will never do any damage while outside of archon.

This build focuses on slaying elites. NOT Trash-Mobs. You just kill trash-mobs as a byproduct of killing elites.

I can't explain it, but fact is, you do waaaay more damage to elites then to trash-mobs. While taking down an elite in let's say 2 secons (GR 70) it takes me maybe 10 seconds to kill trash-mobs. (Everything while in Archon-Form). On higher GR (80) i would use all my archon time to kill trash-mobs. On GR 85 I can't even kill trash-mobs any longer. Elites still go down fast.

2) 60% CDR is very usefull, personally I'd suggest going for just a little higher. With 60% CDR you are 28 seconds out of archon and 20 seconds while in archon form.  This circles perfectly with your Convention of ElementsConvention of Elements You start your archon-form just a second before you reach fire. Then you get the fire-cylce twiche. And with 60% CDR you can enter your next archonform exactly at the same point in the Element-Cycle. That's why I'd suggest to get 60,5 - 61% CDR, it gives you a small window of a second or two if you missed it somehow (because you were stunned, reacted to late...)

(My earlier statement that you are 50% of your time in archon-form was wrong. 20 seconds archon, 28 seconds out of it. that is just 40% of the time.)

If you are below 60% CDR the Element-Cycle will be way worse.

BTW, I don't know why you say you are out of archon for 40 - 48 seconds. That just isn't true. With 60% CDR it is 28 seconds.

And like I stated earlier, you have lot's to do while outside of archon form: Search for the next elite, pulling some mobs, getting your stacks up...

3) Of course there are other options - you can use fire-hydra, meteor... But none of this comes even close to the damage you do with Archon. If your goal is to do the highest GRs possible this is the only viable opion.

If you just want to have fun slaying enemies - hey, just pick whatever skills you like.

Personally I like the Multishot Deamon Hunter a lot. You just obliterate everything on the screen. That is great fun. But you will be stuck at an Greater Rift around 10 tiers lower then with Firebird Archon.

1) You only do massive damage to elites because of the damage bonus of firebird stacks from enemies ignited near you. If there is an elite enemy ignited near you, you get max firebird stacks. This is why if there is a large group of trash mobs you can still do moderate damage to them if you are in archon and igniting.

Another alternative to this build that I have found to work reasonably well is to switch teleport to black hole (spellsteal), illusionist to blur, and your cube aquila to illusory boots. Very mobile with the boots (never stuck waiting for enough damage to reset teleport), moderate damage reduction with blur and 10% from spellsteal rune on black hole, and a damage boost from spellsteal. If hitting enough enemies to get a good spellsteal damage boost, it's almost reasonable to switch bane of the powerful for esoteric alteration for protection in this instance. I haven't been able to tell if I'm more successful in this setup or the one outlined in the build...

Hello,

New to D3 as of a month ago, and I'm trying to follow this build but I'm trying to figure out how I'm supposed to get the 3 stack for the Firebird's set while not in archon. Do I even build the 3 stacks, or do I just run around until Archon pops and kill everything?

So, first of all i wanna thank you for the Spectral Blade build, it's strong af and it helped me a lot. But i'm having some problems with this one.

I just "crafted" this Firebird/Archon as you can see here https://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/phosTR-1914/

Then i went to Weeping Hollow at TX to test it and...it was ridiculous. I can't kill trash mobs and i'm almost dying against them, i mean, what is happening here? Archon form is ridiculously weak and normal form is even worse.

Give me some tips please.

The build is not meant to kill Trash-Mobs. You don't do much damage against them.

You burst down elites in seconds, you need to skip trash-mobs (what you have to do while archon is on CD I described earlier in the thread)

I wouldn't recommend this build for bounties. The build is excellent for greater rifts.

I've been messing with this Build for months and I must be doing something very wrong because, for me, it does diddly in terms of killing monsters.  Maybe it's my ADHD but I can't get it to work well at all.

i got everything that this  build required, legendary gems 60 + level. after trying some rifts  i can say, that this build is totally shit. dont even try it wasting of time and powers..  you can kill any elite easily in archon form, but after archon form is on cd,you are garbage. you  just need to run and wait about 30-40 sec until archon cd expired. sorry for my bad grammar,my main language is not english

Hello! Thank you for this build. I just have one question — on the main page in gear setup there is obsidian ring of zodiac in jewelry slot. But on gear page there is convention of elements. I think, you need to fix this :)

I haven't seen anybody mention Molten Wildebeast's Gizzard instead of Bane of the Powerful. It makes survival outside of Archon much more manageable.

I got the idea from a fellow on the Xbox leaderboard last season. He cleared at GR92 with no augments. I really don't know how he got quite that high, as I've only been able to clear GR89 with Rank 99 Caldesanns on all my gear and 1035 paragon. Maybe his paragon was super high, but still. I don't think I'll be able to pull off a GR92, unless I was able to get just an absolutely perfect rift with open maps and good elite pack density.

Here is a link to the variation I'm using. I fear that without Wildebeast staying alive outside of Archon would just be way too difficult.

http://www.diablofans.com/builds/83520-firebird-archon-gr100

Coming from the Manald Heal Tal/Vry build I ran in Season 10, it has been an interesting experience trying Firebird out of season. I don't think I'll be using this build for next season though. Not being able to kill anything nearly 60% of the time is a real drag, even though the sudden burst of melting down packs can be quite satisfying. Eventually the novelty of that wore off though and I just get tired of not being able to do anything for 28 out of every 48 seconds.

I still don't know what class/build I want to use next season.

I play almost exclusively on console so doing a ranged build, while possible, is much more difficult than melee. Do to this, my distaste for Archon, and the desire to try something other than DMO or Tal Rasha melee builds I came up with a melee exclusive Firebird build.

Blade-flame

EB-chain Reaction

MW-Ignite

Ice Armor-crystallize

Frost Nova-bone chill

Teleport-safe passage.

Audacity, arcane dynamo, evocation, unwavering will

Gear is basically the same as any other firebird build, diffrence is I use the spectral blade wand and belt, cubed wand of woh, EB orb.

I'm given to understand that the 6-piece on screen indicator is a flame above the mob's head,  which I do get, along with the indicator for "Firebird Finery". Was able to complete GR60, not all too impressive but i imagine that wothout the set bonuses it wouldnt have happened.

So, the question is, does this build work or am I missing something and not seeing it?

I figure since flame glad triggers the fire aspect of tal rasha then it should work for Firebird along with ignite.

I feel like you're trying to combine two builds that don't necessarily work together better than they do individually. It can definitely work, probably clear up to GR80, but I think you're really going to struggle after that.

Blizzard have moved the launch of Season 34 back a week!
While it was supposed to start today, Blizzard cite players not wanting the new D3 and D4 season launches to overlap on the same week, and needing more time to get the season properly set up, as the previous one ended early.
      Season 34 Delay (Source)
      Hi all
We have shifted the start for the new season of Diablo III to next week. This is due to a few items:
We received a good amount of feedback that many didn’t want overlap with the first weekend of Diablo IV’s new season. We agree so we are building out that gap and will be more mindful of that going forward.
This will help us properly ensure account states migrate over as we had an issue with the prior season rolling early and us having to kick things back on.
You can find the exact times on our Season 34 blog.

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.
