Nickolaas 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2015 Hey everyone, I know you all love to do log analysis so here's my question: According to Simcraft I should be doing 28.2k DPS with my gear (666 ilvl, http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/outland/Nikkie/simple) I'm only doing 25.6k dps and according to some forum posts it's possible to easily beat the simcraft dps... Megadeath 4 Report post Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) you can't "easily" beat simdps in a straight up single target fight since the simulation is playing the rotation perfect while as a human you have to make split second decisions which will result in a dps loss when you were incorrect. However simcraft is using the average dps of 10000 iterations when calculating your dps on a somewhat fixed fight length, so excessive trinket proc luck etc. gets evened out. If you're looking at the top damage parses of SV Hunters on for example Butcher HC you will see them having really good proc rng together with a relatively short fight that maximizes their damage. Overall your DoT uptimes are fine for your Butcher fight! What's more important is, you did your butcher fight with a 664 ilvl and 25.6k dps but you simmed your 666 ilvl char with 28.2k dps afterwards. Reading from your logs you apparently got the HC Butcher trinket after that fight which is the biggest dps increase a SV hunter can get if you werent using one before (which you obviously didnt). your Butcher fight was absolutely fine regarding the logs apart from missing the prepot. This and the procluck mentioned above lead to your as you feel "disappointing" performance in not reaching your sims. Other than that you can see for yourself what you did wrong in the other fights you felt you were underperforming by following the steps explained here in short: look for BA SS ES uptimes, AMoC usage, Focus usage and Procs in your logs.
