Wobrig 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2015 Hi Guys I started playing MW monk just over 1 week ago as an alt but on Wednesday our main team was short of a healer so I changed over to help the healers. To say Im unsure about healing is an understatement as to be honest this is my first real healing experience. Due to having almost 0 experience of healing and very new to MW monk Im looking for any pointers or advice I can get, I am really enjoying MW and I have read up about rough rotations but still lack the confidence of whether Im anywere near doing it right. Attached log is our teams very first attempts of BRF bosses not sure why we jumped into HC before killing in Normal but atleast we got the kill. https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/Py49DpX1wNhxVGbB#fight=1&type=healing Thanks in advance with any info, tips and advice. Carnifex 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2015 Based on a quick look, and I am by no means an expert: The 15 chi you spent on EM had a 77% overheal. With that many healers with better single target heals forget the spot healing with EM and focus on more uplifts (only a 36% overheal by comparison). With the predictable damage on Gruul, Chi Brew as opposed to Power Strikes would give you more on-demand uplifts which should lead to more healing per chi. Personally for my Gruul hc kill I took ChiEx and fistweaved the entire fight.
Wobrig 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2015 Hi Carnifex thanks for the reply. I will work on the EM over heals, also tonight I have a try at ChiEx on Gruul and see how Fisting works in our setup.
Etruscian 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2015 To me, it looks like you start out the fight really nice, having ReM ready for the inferno slices. But as the fight progresses, you start to become more reactive than proactive with them. It could be that i deduce that incorrectly from the logs, but if that's the case, try to save 2 stacks when you don't need them and use them just before major damage spikes. That will give you better control over your uplifts and will lower your uplift overhealing. Try to aim for about 25% overhealing. Also, since you have no mana issues at all, try to use RJW more often. Don't be afraid of its high mana cost. If used wisely, it will do around 20% of your healing with only a few casts. Just make sure you don't spam it, since that does drain your mana really fast.
