NoamNatan 1 Report post Posted February 9, 2015 Hi i was wandering if it worth using it i haven't see any reference to it in demonology guides if my Shadow Bolt split in to tree isn't it has more potential to hit multistrike and/or crit then 1 'normal' Shadow Bolt? Crysant 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2015 No, it doesn't affect multistrike or critchance. Glyph of shadow bolt has no influence on how the spell works, it is purely cosmetical. That means even if you see three projectiles in the air, those three are treated as if they were only one.
Vartena 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2015 I'm pretty sure with it being just a minor glyph, that it's purely for looks. It would not proc more multistrike and/or crit. That would be a little overpowered if it did.
NoamNatan 1 Report post Posted February 9, 2015 some times when i shot shadow bolt with the glyph i could see 6 tiny shadow bolts instead of 3 so i thought all 3 little ones did multistrikes also so it's just a cosmetic look?
Stunlocked 8 Report post Posted February 9, 2015 Yeah. Shadow Bolt multistriked. With the glyph multistrike will show 6 or 9 little ones instead of 3. But it won't multistrike or crit any more or less with the glyph than without one. It is still cinders considered as one bolt when calculating damage. Liquidsteel 279 Report post Posted February 9, 2015 As I understand it, the glyph splits the single cast into three, separate hits. If your standard Shadow Bolt does 30k, the glyph causes you to launch 3 bolts that each hit for 10k. Each bolt can individually crit, however multistrike I haven't tested, though I presume it works the same as crit. Will need further clarification. The bottom line however, is that the glyph is indeed purely cosmetic.
