Im back, and need some quick guidance, ret pve

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I just re-fired up my account, thought I was done for good, but nah... i can't quit this game!

Here is a link to my armory:  http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/gilneas/Svenolaf/simple

The new xpac is really different than I'm used to.  I need help with glyphs, a decent leveling build, and some general info on gear I should be working on.  Oh, yeah, whats up with the new stats?!?  no hit?!?  damn... I'm thinking about re-rolling just so I can re-learn all the changes.

I feel like there have been some massive changes to the game since I last played and most google searches I find send back rather vague and overly broad info about the 6.0 pre patch.

Also, are any ret's out there using CLCret anymore?  if so, where can i find a decent lvl 90 string to use as I level?

Please help.  Anything is good.  I was a pretty decent player back in the day, so I should be able to figure most stuff out fairly quickly.

TIA, and I appreciate the time spent reading this.

I didnt play pandaria a lot, but here some difference with drenor:

No hit, mastery need if you attack bofss from behind. If you attack not from behind - boss will parry/block and dodge.

No reforge.

New gear system - boss in heroic dungeon(5 ppl) can drop 630 item, but you have a chance get reforged item 636 lvl. Also you have a chance to get equip with socket(even trinket). For Highmaul raid normal 655 itmlvl it coud be 661 reforged. So item coud be reforged or with soket or both. Also item coud be with "lifeleach/move speed/etc" - usless stats.

You want items with mastery, its your best stat. After mastery you probably want haste/crit/multi. Versality not good stat, at least with low gear lvl(<680 for shure). But first of all - strenght is best for you. So first of all bust your itmlvl(couse it will give you more str).

http://www.wowdb.com/talent-calculator#ZZzPb0NaOGr1L- this is your build for lvling.

About rotations addons and other stuff you coud read here - https://www.icy-veins.com/wow/retribution-paladin-pve-dps-guide

Legendary quest for 640-680-690-710(or 700 do not remember) ring. First quest you will get in your garrison at 98lvl, so u probably wont miss it(orange sign at "void" mob). After you get it you shoud go to one normal dungeon and you will get 640 ring. After this you will need end 3 heroic dungeons, so you will get 680 ring. For 690 ring you shoud go to HighMaul raid, kill 2 last boses and collect ~100 items wich drops from all boses in HM. And last ring - quest for BlackROckFoundry raid.

So for now - get 640 at 98, and 680 at 100.

Heirloom only for 85lvl, at 25 feb will be patch 6.1 there will be new heirloom system, so you coud graid it to 100 lvl, but it will cost gold.

Also you can read this about gearing - http://www.wowhead.com/guides/gear/wod/gearing-up-in-warlords-of-draenor

I reccomend you questing in nagrand(when your garrison send you there), couse there is highest itmlvl rewards for quests, so it will be easier for you to hit 610 itmlvl, which you need for heroic dungeons, and 615 for LfR highmaul.

Also you coud try challange-dungeons, it will award you(daily quest) with 640 gear.

Or you coud buy some gear from AH, it cost not rly much now.

Also there is 3 worldboses, but 2 of them with same CD. so you coud kill 2 boses and get 640 and 665(or 55 do not remember) gear also.

For leveling i never go to nagrand, i think it's faster to stay in spires. i go 90-92 frostfire ridge/shadowmoon valley, 94-96 gorgrond (This can be done in under 40 minutes if you just do objective quests), and then 94-96 or 97 in talador, and finally 97-100 in spires. It takes under 10 hours (8 normally)

And for gear and specc, look at the guides on this site, they are really helpfull.

And depending on your amount of gold and your server price, it can be helpfull to buy a couple 640 ilvl pieces to level with, (weapon and trinket helps the most)

It's okay not go to nagrand, if you will buy some equip, but if you dont - it's will take time to get itmlvl. When i start play(first days of draenor) i dont have enough money for 640 items(it was like 20k for one item), and i have to quest in nagrand and farm dungeons, it was rly annoing. Maby in spires you coud hit 610-615 lvl for heroic and lfr, but as i remember, i didnt.

The Dark Swarm is looking for truly laid-back adults (18 and up) that want to have fun and be a part of a friendly, relaxed guild- perfect for people with the duties of full time jobs, families, and floating play time schedules due to the unpredictable availability life can cause.
We are always looking to meet new friends! We have an amazing group of people, and chat can be active in game and Discord (text), but we occasionally have lulls. Please be patient with us while we revitalize our roster!
Some things The Dark Swarm is:
► A guild who has been around since BC.
► A place for fun, mature people. You must be 18+ to join. Sense of humor strongly recommended ☺
► A guild interested in enjoying the game in our own ways. Some of us like to PvP, others like to run heroics, mythic+, and raids. Some like to level characters and professions, some love to collect things and camp rares. We welcome all styles of gameplay.
Some things The Dark Swarm is not:
► A raiding guild. If you are looking to raid on a team regularly, we are not for you. We have no interest in organizing progression raids for current content any longer. Any raiding outside of older content is done through PuGs/ LFG.
► A leveling guild. We accept characters of all levels, but we are looking for people who want to make us their permanent home, not leave once capped and geared.
► A hardcore PvP guild. Some of us do Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds, but if you want a guild who is strictly PvP oriented, we will not be a fit for your interests.
The Dark Swarm is interested in:
► Creating a tight- knit family of players who like to have a good time. Not a social butterfly? That's ok! If you are more comfortable with shutting off chat and just having a safe place for your characters, that is perfectly fine- we will be here for you if you want to interact or have questions.
► Guild events. We have had events in the past, and would be open to it again.
► Achievements. We enjoy getting groups together for achievements including metas for mounts, and guild achievements.
► Past content; we like to go back into some older content for fun from time to time as well. Examples are guild OS3D to get people Drakes, or BC raids for Transmog gear.
► Fun; most importantly, continue to be a relaxed environment to hang out in and meet fun people. Play when you want, the way you want.

      Other Info:
      ▪ We have a Community of the same name for Cross- Faction invites. Don't forget to select 'cross- faction' in the search filter!
      ▪ We are listed in the Guild Finder for easy invites!
      ▪ We use Discord for voice/text.  We are NOT active in our voice chats. Voice is generally only used when needed for groups or events, but are always available for members to use.

Welcome Adventurers! The time has come upon us, FINALLY! The moment in Classic WoW history us diehard, loyal WoW nerds have all been waiting for. WRATH CLASSIC! Arthas Did Nothing Wrong (ADNW) has just begun recruiting (For WotLK Classic) hard-core, casual, rp, pvp, pve, raiders, anything you can think of, you are welcomed here. Although our main focus in ADNW will be progressive raiding, 10 and 25 man and pvp content, we look to have someone for just about anything. Currently we are recruiting for our CORE 10M team composed entirely of irl / internet homies. We are in need of just 1 HEALER (Highly prefer a disc priest with a shadow off spec) and another DPS. Preferably lock or Shadow priest. We are looking to fill our B 10m team entirely, so we can pool together for 25 man’s when it comes time to crush 25m. This guild was founded by a group of tight nit friends recently, who have been around since TBC. WOTLK was our turning point in WoW, and we CANNOT wait to get another crack at this and MAKE IT RIGHT. Come join the adventure of a chill environment full of helpful hands and knowledge. Feel free to reach out to me Via Discord: Daevilmonkiexp#9239 OR Bnet: Daevilmonkie#1280 just let me know you are interested in the guild and we can have a convo! ARTHAS DID NOTHING WRONG!

OK. I have built a L70 Necro. By way of introduction, I played D, D2 and D3/LOD for about 10 years. Then my wife introduced me to WoW, which I've been playing for the last 5 years. However, I didn't enjoy anything about Shadowlands so came back to D3.
I'm looking for a couple of things:
One, I have always played solo but find at this level I need a playmate. So if anyone out there is interested, drop me a line (Spoiler: I am an old guy but I love the game); Two, I want to discuss ideas about the Necromancer build, I don't understand how some of the skills work. I currently have (1) Army of the Dead, (2) Bone Spear, (3) Corpse Lance, (4) Command Skeletons, (L) Grim Scythe and (R) Siphon blood. It's a powerful semi-melee/ranged attack. It's worked well but I'm into Greater Rifts now and while I can complete them I don't get thru fast enough for the big rewards. So I would like someone to suggest if and how I can improve the build to address this (and why this will work better -- that isn't a challenge, I just need to expand my education.

Tuesday 19:30 to 23:00 Realm Time
Thursday 19:30 to 23:00 Realm Time
      Approach to Raiding
We have a relaxed and chilled approach to raiding, but still expect people to make an effort.
As long as you don't show up freshly dinged in levelling greens, and make an effort to improve your gear and skills and show up to raids,
that is all we expect. We are here to enjoy ourselves, not push logs.
      About us
We are a chilled community who enjoys hanging out in discord while playing the game.
Karazhan is on farm, we are now looking to bolster our ranks to create a solid reliable 25 man raid team moving forward.
      What We Offer
A mature environment for levelling and group play
Progressive but relaxed end game experience
A fun, helpful and inclusive atmosphere
      What We Expect
People willing to help build and grow a serious, successful and fun TBC raiding guild. We don’t care about your spec, everyone is welcome. While we are a casual guild, we still expect people to make an effort. Showing up freshly dinged in levelling greens won’t make the raiding experience fun for anyone.
      Our Aims
Our aims are to clear all the raid content in tbc in a relaxed and fun way. We were close to 25 raiders at 70 and ready to start raiding, but a lot of people quit the game and we are in need of new recruits for our 25-man raid teams. Anyone just interested in chilling in discord and to get to know new people are also welcome.
      Recruitment Status
      Tanks : medium
      Healers : high
      Ranged DPS : high
      Melee DPS : high

I am going the corpselance support build for Necromancer and the build has me taking Corpselance with Brittle and the pestilence set on top of that, if I were to take off the ability Corpselance and change it to another ability say for example Bone Spikes with Frost spikes, would the damage decrease an amount that it would not be worth it?
