Chemii 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 Morning I've recently returned to raiding after missing all but the first tier of MoP due to health problems. For clarity I've been playing Rogue since the start of ICC. I was wondering if anyone had considered weaving Crimson Tempest into Envenoms during periods of excess energy, through energy/cp pooling via Anticipation. I've tried it a few times without letting Envenom drop but aren't comfortable with the maths behind Envenom clipping vs the 30% gain to poisons + CT dot. Hero/BL with the 2 set bonus and a few lucky blindside procs knock me close to 100% energy at certain times (more so with more than 1 target) with good timers on the Envenom buff. Clipping Envenom is fine obviously but I like tinkering with quirky rotations. Thoughts?
Carrn 284 Report post Posted February 27, 2015 It mostly comes down to CT being so weak that it isn't worth spending the cp's on it, even to get the 30% poison buff. It doesn't do enough damage against a low number of targets, and on the only boss this tier where there's 3 people to hit (Maidens) you're better off just keeping up Rupture and your Poisons on all of them. There's an argument to be made only for maintaining the DoT on 3 targets, but given how often they jump around I'm not sure it's worth it. Literally the only time I've used it as Asssassination is in Endless Proving Grounds. On the waves with the clusters of small guys, I save up cp's and go CT > MfD > Envenom > FoK x2 > CT
Chemii 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2015 Yeah I thought that was probably the case, thanks. Can't imagine doing proving grounds as Assassination, so far Combat and MFD has served me well on Endless because of the reset abuse but I can only get to round 19 right now. Carrn 284 Report post Posted March 2, 2015 I found that lots of target swapping and leaving your bleeds / poisons to deal the last bit of damage is a lot more effective. Not to mention that the AoE is much simpler with Assassination than killing your energy regen and hoping your white hits are enough to clear the groups of vermin as Combat. I managed to get wave 47 until I made a dumb mistake, then I decided I didn't want to put in another 45 minutes to tie my record again. I also run MfD though. If you want a pretty decent idea of what I did, watch this video. It's not me, but I did mostly the same sort of thing If you'd like tips I can offer some advice as well
