I am looking to get a dialogue started around a topic myself and a couple other warlocks have been trying to figure out. It revolves around using CW during single target under Specific circumstances. (grimserv demserv spec)My current approach is this on fights like Gruul, Ore, parts of Hans, etc. For most of these fights I follow the typical HoG two stack rule with one exception. I have been making sure that when Dark Soul is close to coming off CD I Will have 2 CW stacks I can cast in Meta with Dark Soul up. The results have been pretty good. On gruul I ad 6 cw casts the other night with an average hit of 106k. The question I'm wondering is if this is the proper approach. I know since 6.1 we have a lot more freedom with fury spending so that concern is pretty non existent, especially since this spec does not glyph DS giving us a huge fury gen window. On a smaller scale I'm wondering if using CW in the opener under all our procs would be better than using the small number of MC procs we get and finishing with ToC till we are forced out of Meta in opener. Liquidsteel 279 Report post Posted March 2, 2015 If I'm playing Cataclysm and Glyph of Dark Soul I will CW in the opener before procs fall off. Otherwise I'll drop out to extend 2 stack HoG plus a cast or two before shifting back into Meta for a few more Soul Fire > ToC. I also use CW on single target if it's burst needed right now. Something like Kromog Stone Pillar. Otherwise I tend to prefer HoG single target. On two targets (Iron Maidens) I'll use Chaos Wave most of the time, banking 2+ charges for each 10s Dark Soul. I'll also use it if I have a GSR proc. I had a moment last raid about 2-3 minutes into the fight where I had Dark Soul + Synergy + GSR proc up. Dropped 2 or 3 Chaos Wave's on two targets and spiked from 58k to 64k DPS. It's pretty huge. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Paracel 165 Report post Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) Somebody just got to sit down with calculator and make some math magic happen.I'd blindly say no because CW damage is awesome, even for single target. It can also crit for quite much. You'll also get your HoG cooldown off so you won't waste any. Personally, I'm often finding myself in such a situation when I have HoG charge up and cd running but I got to jump into Meta.
