zikandpa 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2015 Hi =) I'm New here and for the necroblight build and would really appreciate some help, my ilvl is 660 atm and I seem to perform really poorly. I've been playing 2h frost for a long time now and decided to switch to necroblight for obvious reasons. However I seem to be a lot less dmg than what I thought I would've done and am doing bad compared to other people and would like to improve. These are my logs http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/combatlog/ad9bbbbf-93f3-42bb-9fef-d374acd67141/report/32#v=0,d=0,c=10 I am aware that I did not use soul reaper as much as I should but since the beginning of the fights (you can see all the fight's logs) my dps was low so this is not the MAIN problem =) Ask my robot says in performing at 40-60% compared to UH with same I'll as me *I just switched recently so my gear is optional for frost, not for uh Thank you for all the help
Anfauglith 6 Report post Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) You need to manage NP better, a 38% uptime is not good. I see you've used quite some Festering Strikes, but I guess NP was off when you used them (regarding Blast Furnace). Make sure you make a WA or a TellMeWhen to track it, it's a huge part of your damage on add-heavy fights. This is especially important on Kromog, as you can do massive amounts of damage during hands phase if you keep NP up for the whole duration. As for the opening burst of damage, Unholy is not the best spec in that department. But for your gear, you should probably be able to spike up to 40k during the first seconds of the pull. This is the opener I use, if you find it useful(assuming UB/NP): 1) 6 sec before pull - AotD 2) 3 sec before pull - Death's Advance 3) 2 sec before pull (you could do it at 1, but I don't trust my tanks ) - prepot 4) Outbreak - > Unholy Blight -> Gargoyle -> pretty much follow standard rotation (make sure you don't sit on runes, for example, don't use up both Unholy Runes while you sit on both pairs of Frost/Blood runes) You also seem to be sitting at 100 Runic Power for extended periods of time (mostly on Kromog, the other 2 are fine). Make sure you use all your resources, otherwise your DPS will suffer. And make sure you spam that Soul Reaper once the boss it below 45%. Always keep 1 rune to be able to use it as soon as it becomes available. Don't hesitate to wait for ~3-4 seconds if you need to. Lastly, if you are having trouble with your rotation, check out Redfella's WeakAuras on this forum. Edited March 5, 2015 by Anfauglith

For new unholy DKs I'm at the point where I say this is a must. Truly the logs i've seen off of it are magnificent and will help you get your priorities straight and teach you when to use what. zikandpa 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2015 Thank you so much for the reply, that's the first thing.. I am using redellas weak auras, my problem is i'm having troubles keeping track of the auras and focusing on the fight as well, this has been the second day using UH for me, maybe that could be it, i'm gonna need more practice probably. hell...i still can't control rune management and focus on the fight :S - with frost this was no trouble though. as for the start of the fight, i was doing exactly what you mentioned - besides the prepot and still seemed to do a very low dmg for some reason.. i got another small question, when the fight has started what do you do exactly? i mean, festering strike first or scourge strike? or...is it not even important? cause another problem i'm having is having timmy up early in the fight, it takes me about 20 secs to get him up.. i think my main problem would be rune management but i'm gonna practice =] - do you follow the weakauras exactly? or are there any exceptions? You get used to resource management with time. It was rough for me at the start as well. i got another small question, when the fight has started what do you do exactly? i mean, festering strike first or scourge strike? or...is it not even important? cause another problem i'm having is having timmy up early in the fight, it takes me about 20 secs to get him up.. i think my main problem would be rune management but i'm gonna practice =] - do you follow the weakauras exactly? or are there any exceptions? I use Festering Strike first, but that doesn't make much of a difference. 20 sec from the start of the fight is ok, you could probably do it a bit faster with practice. I don't use the WeakAuras, so I can't say if there are any exceptions.
