Akkhan Condemn Crusader

Obviously you remove them from the build completely and switch strongarm bracers for nems. This frees your boots slot and armor cube slot. To compensate for damage lost by removing strongarm bracers you add hexing pants of mr yan to the mix. Since you put on set boots you can remove one of two set pieces: helmet or pants. You put in its place leorics crown or hexing pants and cube the other one.

But this is completely against the style of the build? At decently high levels of pushing, you struggle horrendously against elites. You'll end up spawning more of the things you can't kill properly, as opposed to playing with Strongarms + Illusory, which plays into exactly what you want to fight: trash. You want to group up large packs, which Illusory lets you glide through, and they are mostly made up of trash, which you can stun for SA.

I can't see why Nemesis would be a good pick here outside of speed running, but in that case, it's a completely different argument/build.

Guest botters I believe

Even with diminishing returns 4k+ paragon points spent in strength give quite a boost to toughness and damage, considerably reducing your struggles fighting elites and allowing you to fight 3-4 packs of elites + trash mobs at the same time, even in very high gr pushing. Lack of the illusory boots is quite a problem on some maps, so you might need to fish for the right map and switch 1 passive for indestructible to gain 2nd cheat death.

I've seen it being used by people who "play" 20+ hrs a day, so I wouldn't pay much attention to it if you are not botting.

Hello,

I have a question and i hope you will reply because I'm really confused and i don't see any answers here. So i think s10 or s11 i played my season with Crusader and got my Akkhan set like that. While i was playing that season i also found Frydehr's Wrath and Blade of Prophecy. When i found them they had blue percentage for their legendary stat but now i guess there must be some update or something they are all orange writing and numbers (legendary writing and BoP is 100% and shield is 200% and i just dropped another shield that is giving me 727%) should i change them? Does this mean every update some of our items will be trash like this?

If you want i can take a picture of it.

Thank you,
Spes

I tried to update this set-build since it was my first ever D3 build (nostalgia already), I found that by using full Akhan set & Focus+Restraint the damage was pretty high & I can solo Grift 55, not great, but not bad either.

I'm not having any issues at all with the build specs. Currently running T13 GR 97 solo.. Better jewelry rolls will put me over where I am needing this season. I use Deadset's builds for all my Legit builds.

Hello, thank you for the guides.

Under the weapon, it shows to have CondemnCondemn as one of the rolls... But I'm looking at both weapons in the enchanter and I do not see Condemn as an option at all...   Is this a mistake?

It is referring to the affix that rolls on Blade of Prophecy only, which impacts your Condemn % damage. You can't reroll this.

I have a question for @Deadset regarding the stat choices on Frydehr's WrathFrydehr's Wrath, it seems that with FineryFinery being mandatory, that a socket would be mandatory on any item that can have a socket, barring weapons which we obv get those through Ramaladni's GiftRamaladni's Gift. Shouldn't the order on the shield at least include socket, if not right below Strength?

Hello there,

I'm quite new to Diablo (endgame) and am building my HC Crusader right now with this build. As I'm playing him solo and with 1 or 2 friends, I'm curious about an alternative for the 50% dmg reduction from Unity when grouping. My idea so far: switch cubed unity to Ring of Royal GrandeurRing of Royal Grandeur. Then switch either Akkhan's head for leorics head and cube Aquila CuirassAquila Cuirass, or switch Akkhan's breastpiece directly with the Aquilla Cuirass.
Does this sound reasonable? Keeping the wrath above 90% means I can only cast 1-2 Comdemns without losing the effect. Or casting it some more and quickly fill wrath up with provocation. Hmmm.
Another Idea would be the endless walk set (ring+amu, give 50% dmg reduce while moving), but I have no clue how to dampen the lost damage increase.
Some ideas?

The change log states: "...Convention of Elements is now recommended for the Jewelry slot of the Kanai's Cube in place of Unity."
Why was that changed back to Unity and is CoE still a valid choice? I would like to play this build in a 2P coop with a friend, but his build doesn't include Unity.

I think unity is only reasonable when using it with a solo companion who cant die because of his charm-slot. When playing with a friend, you lose 50% dmg mitigation because you can't use unity with a companion... therefore you need something else instead, be it itemwise or teamplay-wise to make up for the loss. Else, you'll probably be too squishy for this playstyle. But I dont know, maybe it's because I'm playing HC, where I really need that additional mitigation.
For non-HC, if you can live without the dmg mitigation, you can either use CoE or use Royal Grandeur and switch one piece of setarmor for something better. For example these pants which give +25% dmg+ressource reg when moving. Or to pull the enemies even more together, use johann's essence amulet. But those all are just ideas from a noob ;o)

Strength and weapon damage both directly multiply your damage output, so you'd want to roll whichever affects the appropriate stat less, percentage-wise. I'm pretty sure you'll almost always want to keep +strength and remove +damage in a case like this.

For example, on my PL 732 hardcore crusader with mostly non-ancient gear, my main weapon has a damage range of 2924-3380 (note that you're looking for raw damage, not damage per second). The average is then 3,152.  Each of my rings and amulet can have +damage affixes for [60-80] - [120-160]. Which means the lower end of the +damage will be between 60 and 80, and the upper end will be between 120 and 160. Let's pretend my amulet has +dmg of 73-149. I would take that average, 111, and add it to the average damage on my weapon. Total is now 3263 damage that's being multiplied by skill effect and so forth to get my final damage. My amulet has +721 strength on it right now, and I have a total of 11,524 strength. If I took the +strength off my amulet I would only have 10,803 strength.

So, we need to compare weapon damage with and without the amulet affix, vs strength with and without the amulet affix. 3263 ÷ 3152 = 1.035, which means the +damage affix gives a 3.5% damage increase. 11524 ÷ 10803 = 1.067, so the +strength affix gives a 6.7% damage increase. 6.7% is a lot bigger than 3.5%, so I'd want to keep +strength and roll +damage to a socket.

As you improve gear, both your strength and base damage will increase, decreasing the effectiveness of any given affix, but ancient items give better affixes. My PL 929 softcore crusader with mostly ancient gear (and four level 95 augments) has 3,711 average weapon damage, and an ancient amulet has a +damage affix of [88-105] - [168-210]. My particular amulet has a range of 101-199, or 150 average. Likewise its +888 strength is higher than the HC crusader's non-ancient amulet, while my total strength is 16,727.

Comparing these, I get (3711+150) ÷ (3711) = 1.040, or a 4.0% increase for +damage, and 16727 ÷ (16727 - 888) = 1.056, or a 5.6% increase for +strength. 5.6% is still bigger than 4.0%, but it's not as big of a difference as the lower-geared character was.

As paragon levels go up, strength will improve dramatically, while weapon damage is unchanged. At 23,088 strength, +damage and +strength will have the same benefit (exact level will change depending on other factors). That's 6,246 more strength than I currently have, or 1249 more paragon levels. Which means that above paragon 2178, +damage will start to win out for me, if I ever got that high. Realistically, I'd have more augments by the time I hit that paragon level, and better-optimized gear, so the cutoff point is probably more like PL 1800 for a typical player.

I have a BoP that rolled ancient. However when I looked at the legendary property, it only says that Condemn damage is increased by 100%, not the 600-800% listed on your guide.

Are there more than one version of this weapon from a previous patch you are aware of?

Thank you in advance!

I have played with both Furnace and a BALEFUL REMNANT.  Why have we not heard using this variant?  It seems to help deflect aggro and even damage.  I am not sure what the max is but I have had a lot of dots running around with me that seemed to be around 15 at a time.  Thoughts?

Hi Deadset. I followed your guide to start my Akkhan Crusader and I am in love with it. However, I have few questions about the gears

First, why strength is more important than Area dmg in your build? I see the last top solo Crusader have all area dmg instead of strength wherever they can.

Also, the importance of cooldowns. How much that matter after the 56%? i don't understand if it's better to max that stats of if it's just fine to have more than 56%. What do you think?
Thanks.

It is very important as it allows you to have perma akarats champion. Without it the build simply doesn't work. I mean you can still use it without cdr, but it's not the same. Once you reach the threshold you don't need any more cdr.

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.

Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to any who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 33, this means awards originally available from Season 9 are returning to the Season Journey. However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve already participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 33? Here are the challenges you’ll face: For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at level 70 on Torment X or higher. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped. And lastly we'll be bringing back Speed Demon/Need for Speed, meaning you'll need to beat a Torment X Nephalem Rift at Level 70 in 2 minutes. Best of luck! Return to Top Haedrig’s Gift
