surge0116 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) Hello folks, I'm on here wondering why I'm doing so poorly compared to other healers. I JUST started healing as a Paladin in 6.2 so that may explain it, but I've mained a Ret Pally since Cata. Ok so here's the deal, sometimes I do 28k-32k (35k on a good day) HPS but compared to the other healers that are doing 38k-45k, I am GARBAGE. I used to think it was my gear but now I have no clue. I'm pretty sure it's me Logs: http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/combatlog/7867e7d4-5c2b-4224-93e4-47b6df9ade03/boss/beastlord-darmac/heroic#be=overview,c=9 http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/combatlog/34205713-67e7-4162-bf76-d7618217aedc/boss/oregorger/heroic#be=avoid,c=249 Character: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/stormreaver/Urgefersurge/simple I have recently gotten Darmac's Unstable Talisman and also the Helmet of Guiding Light but my character seems off, w/o all the +5 iLvls too. The logs are from before I got the upgrades but I still feel like I'm underperforming. Since the site is off, Stats (unbuffed): Crit - 21% Haste - 22% Mastery - 13% Spirit - 1090 Vers - 4% Multi - 1% Thanks ahead of time guys, I really appreciate the feedback and this forum! Miirsal 4 Report post Posted April 1, 2015 Well take my advice as slightly unconventional but I do like to beat people 10 ilevels ahead of me :). Don't take the avenging wrath talent and use divine purpose instead. Remember that 'overhealing' isn't so bad for a holy paladin. Our overheals builds a shield up to 30% of the hit points of the player that you're overhealing as illuminated healing. Basically, you overheal the raid and when they take damage, your heal ticks off 'first' where as no other healer can heal the 100% healed (which we can). My illuminated healing is always my top healing percentage. Then also use your avenging wrath on nearly every cooldown that you can. You used it once? Glyphed is best as it reduces it's cooldown making it available and you should be able to use it 3 to 4 times per fight. During those periods, it increases your healing 100%!! and increases your haste and crit by 20% so that it's really more than 100%. Find periods where a lot of raid damage is going to occur and hit each group with a big old Holy Radiance finished with a Holy Shock (two holy power from those two). You'll see your hps skyrocket but your mana will plummet. Now I know you're worried about mana but here's some tips. You have the correct lay on hands glyph to give you 10% mana back and you have the correct unbreakable spirit making loh only a 5 minute cooldowown but you only used loh once. If you use it in the first 3 minutes of any fight (remember you can build a 30% illuminated healing shield with the overheal) and then use it again at the end of fight that's 20% more mana. I can't tell what pot you use but you can use channeled mana potion to regain a huge amount of mana as well. Then it's holy light fillers which essentially give you a little touch of mana back the rest of the way. I tend to use 3 holypower on light of dawn which you only used once. Remember that it can build that nice overhealing shield that will then absorb/heal damage before your friends can heal them. Of course it's important to keep your tank up but your eternal flame ticks are 33% overhealing anyway. Think about switching to casting your light of dawn (standing in the thick of a bunch of players). Once you're more comfortable with the mana needs of a fight, use it liberally with avenging wrath during heavy raid damage on holyradiance/holy shock and illuminated healing. FIgure out for every fight the 3 times you want to use it and remember, overhealing is good for a pally :). If these tips don't help, let me know and I'll see if I can realid help.

I always saved my Avenging Wrath & used it for those OH CRAP moments, whereas I always see druids in those Tree of Life forms. I thought that 3min CD was way too long to use it at the wrong moment so I always saved it for when I needed it most (usually when other healers were OOM and I was ready to go). But I will definitely consider your advice! Trying it tonight :) Thank you!
