Carrn 284 Report post Posted April 3, 2015 You linked your armory twice :P You should have glyph of Disappearance, but otherwise that looks good to me Also, your transmog is on point
Jessialyn 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2015 I update the log =/ sorry
lipsinch 46 Report post Posted April 3, 2015 Well, you already have an idea on where to start: SnD and RvS uptimes. Specially RvS, your uptime have to be increased significantly. Also note that you're basically not pooling any CP for Deep Insight periods (noted on most fight logs). Start holding a bit more on your CPs, don't cast it right off the bat. Try to sport pooling around 7 or 8 CPs before casting Eviscerates. Once again, RvS MUST BE UP AT ALL TIMES. I can't stress this enough. You got 2pc, that makes RvS give you a free CP @45% chance, which means less energy spent on Sinister Strikes and more on Eviscerates. Else than that, it's the usual, Vanish every 1 min (with Disappearance), NEVER use Garrote for Combat.

Jessialyn 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2015 So should I still be building to 5cp to use Evis? I was told to use it at 4 but then read 5.
Carrn 284 Report post Posted April 4, 2015 Where were you told to use it at 4? I've never heard that before, and it doesn't make sense to me as to why you would want to do that
Jessialyn 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2015 That's what I thought, was always under the impression you CP to

I am at the point of just not raiding and I love raiding. Im using WeakAuras with a buddies imported stuff What Buffs/Debuffs do you have tracking on WeakAuras? You should be tracking SnD, Revealing strike at a minimum. I would get weakauras for both of your trinkets. Sometimes It is better to not pool and dump Combo points for as many finishers you can fit into if you have a trinket active (beating heart). I would be running a tracker that notifies you when Adrenaline rush/KS are off cooldown as well. Those are just basic tips for improving dps, as a side note, you're missing your 4 piece. I cannot stress how big of a damage boost this is. If you're just not competing with the other rogue and he has a 4piece. That's possibly part of the case. The fight you linked was blackhand. this can be a particularly tricky fight for rogues to maintain damage. I'd focusing on maximizing uptimes. during phase changes if you shadowstep the boss immediately as the floor is dropping out or killing spree if you have it. It will place you right on the boss and give you some extra uptime to wail on him as soon as you land. Remember its not so much DPS that count's but survivability and total damage done. If you're ever curious about upgrads or which trinkets you should be taking etc i'd take a look at this site http://shadowcraft.mmo-mumble.com/ It's pretty helpful as far as a web browser sim goes. lipsinch 46 Report post Posted April 4, 2015 Finishers (with the exception of SnD) should always be cast with 5 CPs, none less. You'd cast with 4CP exclusively with Assassination spec under lv 90, where you could lose CPs due to being capped to 5 CP only. With Anticipation, there's no need for that anymore. Anyway, hope to see you around again, with 40k DPS. :D
themuffin 1 Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Some of these have already been said but I think I shall point out everything that I think needs looking at. Uptimes:SnD and RvS uptimes are low especially RvS, these 2 things are the basics behind getting the most out of your combat spec get an addon to track these if you havn't already. Also don't forget that you can refresh both of these BEFORE they run out for better up time and no loss in DPS at all (SnD ~ 7 seconds and RvS at ~ 4)* * yes i know these are not the maximum times to refresh but these are the ones that i often use Pooling:Looking at when your anticipation buff is up I can see that you aren't pooling CPs for deep insight, this isn't a big dps loss but it is a dps loss all the same and quite easy to get down if you are tracking your bandits guile and combo points. Gear:I assume you are a combat main, if so ditch the multistrike enchants and gems and gem for haste. In single target fights haste is much better than multistrike, in multi-target fights multistrike beats haste however but in mixed fights (Darmac for instance) I personally find haste better since you cycle cooldowns faster with haste. Cooldowns and Useables: Using a 2min CD use trinket is annoying as hell when playing combat as you want to usually use them with other cooldowns to increase the effectiveness of the trinket and looking at the logs you seem to be using the trinket pretty much on cooldown apart from the first one which isn't too bad but you are missing out on a lot of potential dps if you were to combine it with your killing spree or AR. My main bit of advise for you here would be to try and get one of the 2 better trinkets at heroic level for single target combat (stone of fire or humming blackeron trinket) Next point is going to be your killing sprees, looking at your logs you seem to be flat out missing some killing sprees in the fight. This is quite an obvious dps loss. This might sound silly but make sure you are watching for when your killing spree is coming off cooldown. Your first potion use missed out your adrenalin rush completely. This could be because of how you open a fight however, dps loss. Fight placement:Generally not too bad. You didn't look to be ready at the start of the fight and took longer than most to get to the boss. Since you are using shadowstep just get in shadowstep range of the boss at the start of the fight and use it on pull. LARGE CONCERNS: You cast SnD TOO MUCH aim for 5CP SnD unless you are about to drop the buff (in a 5:00 fight you should have 9-10 SnD you had 17 casts in a 6:34 fight) Your average eviscerate is 17k and minimum eviscerate 3k. These are really really low I have to assume that you are not using 5 combo points for some of your eviscerates, you must ALWAYS use 5 combo points for eviscerates also I'm assuming that the 3k eviscerate is a 1 combo point eviscerate you have to be careful not to spam the eviscerate button when trying to do damage. This is going to become VERY important when using the 4 set bonus for combat from BRF. I'll leave you with this if you read it, there are quite a few things i have pointed out from your single target Blackhand fight log. Combat is a spec that can get confusing as it seems simple but there is a lot of behind the scenes stuff going on with cooldown management, take some notes from above, stick at it and I promise you that with some practice you'll leave that other rogue in the dust no issues.
