EmoXXXKid 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2015 So I've just been playing Arcane on my mage and know I should be using Fire for fights like Blast Furnace and Iron Maidens so I've been trying to learn the rotation. It seems generally pretty easy, but I notice that I'll get a Heating Up proc then cast fireball and before the timer bar is even close to ending, the Heating Up proc goes away. I can't seem to find anything in the spells or anything that says that it would cancel the Heating Up proc unless the time fades out. Any explanation of this would be a great help so I can maximize the procs and not lose them. Thanks in advance!
Oltier 471 Report post Posted April 23, 2015 If your next spell does not crit, you are going to loose the Heating Up! proc. Thus, you should immediately use Inferno Blast once you have Heating Up. (Unless you have Pyro and Heating up together then it's just Fireball, Pryro)
EmoXXXKid 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2015 Oh ok, I get that. It's just weird cause as I start casting Fireball I lose it.... Not after the spell is executed or when the target is struck, but when I start casting it. So if I have heating up, do I hold off casting fireball till Inferno Blast is off CD? I do have the 2 piece so I have 2 charges to Inferno Blast, which helps a lot. Thanks for your response!

This is probably what happens: You cast a Fireball. It starts flying.. Meanwhile, you cast 2nd Fireball, 1st Fireball now hits and crits, 2nd is now in the air. You cast 3rd Fireball, as it's finished being casted, your 2nd Fireball lands, dealing no crit damage. If you have Heating up (only that), you can immediately start spamming your Inferno Blast button to generate the Pyroblast proc. Then just go on with the normal rotation. You should always cast something (golden rule of casters). If you don't have Inferno Blast, when you have Heating up, well.. Things happen, just go on with more Fireballs.
