Operator Thogar DPS Help

Hey all,

Was wondering if any helpful Warlock demos could look at my Thogar pull and let me know how I can improve? Also my other fights where I could improve I would greatly appreicate any of the help. I think I pull OK numbers but would like to improve where I can

Sorry for how brief this is - I'm at work and can't give a "proper" reply. However, you only have 9 casts of Chaos Wave. On a fight with such huge potential for cleaving you should certainly be cleaving more mobs with your CW. The best way to do this is to save up your HoG/CW charges when you know adds will be coming up (the two big add phases, Man of War coming out, the splitting phases etc). Additionally, you've got 3 casts of Cataclysm in a 4min + fight. Now you might have just been sitting on it waiting for adds - if so, disregard this portion of the comment - but if not make sure you get as many casts out as possible (preferably cleaving multiple targets).

This link can show you the times you cast dark soul and the times you cast Cataclysm - with the exception of the last Cataclysm cast you did a pretty good job of making sure you had DS up first. Always try to play it out so that you have DS up when you Cata (personally, I have one Cata hotkey on my bar that has DS macro'd into it to make this easy). Additionally you can see all your CW casts - the only time you knocked out three chaos waves after cataclysm (during which you're, most like, still buffed with DS) was the very last Cataclysm. 

 

Also, it looks like you might be using Glyph of Imp Swarm? If that's the case I'd suggest dropping it - its a rather weak glyph in general especially so when talking about an AOE heavy fight like Thogar. Hope this helps!

For a farm boss I agree with everything that DravenCarey said and especially about Imp Swarm; I have not seen anyone recommend that glyph in a long long while.

 

For me it was a lot about changing my mindset and therefore play style. I went up a huge amount in just one day from going from "must focus this, must focus that" to "padder" in basically trying to do as much overall damage.

 

I was going to look at another log but seems like you were playing Destro for pretty much all the others which I am not very experienced with. Someone must of had a very full combat log as there's a serious amount of fights here and hard to find anything.

Hey all thanks for the information. I will unglphy imp swarm tonight and see where that puts me. I know I need to do better on my opener so i'm going to try and focus on that tonight as well.
