Frost mage - Help with DPS

Hello - I'm sure you guys get really sick of this question, but nevertheless here goes.

 

My DPS seems really low for my iLvl (684).  My rotation is more or less what is recommended in the IV frost mage guide (I think).  Here are links to my Armory and a recent combat log:

~7 min fight, you should have 3 casts of troll racial (Berserking) + 3 casts of icy veins + 4 casts of mirror image

 

You have:

0 casts of Berserking

2 casts of Icy Veins (1st near pull and 2nd near 5min mark)

3 casts of mirror image

 

Macro Icy Veins and Berserking together

/cast Berserking

 

Edit: Also noticed that your 2nd int potion was not lined up with any other cooldowns. Mirror images should come off cd at same time as your third cast of Icy Veins so use the 2nd int potion then

Edit2: Try using Ice Nova instead of Unstable Magic and save up charges to dump during big CDs like Icy Veins + you can save charges to give you better burst during specific mechanics (i.e. dogs)\

 

Edit3: You should iceblock to solo-soak molten torrents whenever possible and cancel the iceblock as soon as the meteor hits you so you don't waste damage. Its a damage increase for you + lowers healing requirements on raid. Consider doing it especially if you get molten torrent while dogs are active.

Thanks a lot for taking a look Ralwn!

 

• I thought Berserking was a passive racial - I've got it macroed with IV now.

• Will work on making sure 2nd potion is coupled with another cool down.

• I actually have Frost Bomb talented in this spec - unstable magic is for my fire spec.  I've tried using Frost Nova instead of Frost Bomb, and will experiment with this more.

• I do generally solo-soak molten torrent whenever I can.
