I need help

Hello,

 

I've been reading these forums back to back and I have to finally admit it. I need help, in raid I feel like my numbers are up and down and I'm not sure what I can do to maximize my dps at all times. I have good gear and I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. I compare logs and always check my performance, while its not horrible its just all over the place. Well, I hope someone here can see what I am doing wrong or not doing right. Thanks!

Did you use SB as your last tier talent? Also, I'm seeing a ton of fury warriors melee attacks as their top dps ability. WW is what you should be spamming to dump rage. Don't assume its only for AoE damage. It acts like HS use to. I miss HS =(

I stoppedal using SB and now use Anger Management almost exclusively for single and aoe. I haven't been using ww to dump rage, I've been using wild strikes to do dump rage, think that could be it?

My rotation is as follows:

Pre-pot: str potion

Charge

Buffs Macro: Recklessness, Vial of Convulsive, Avatar if single target

Bloodthirst and Berserker Rage follows right after if no enrage

Execute

Dragon Roar or Storm Bolt

Raging Blow

Bladestorm if AOE

Wild Strike if on Proc or over 70 rage

Then I go about it,

Bloodthirst at enrage 4 seconds cd so if it doesn't reset enrage I got another one to try before I berserker rage to bring back enrage

Execute

Raging Blow

Wild Strike when proc

Wild Strike when rage above 70

Now I've been using wild strikes as rage dump, could this be the issue?

I also just started paying more attention to my enrage uptime, as you see I'm hitting Bloodthirst now at 4 seconds.

So from what I can tell from your logs (the last ones you linked) you have some very glaring problems in your playstyle that make you do way less dps than you should.

I'm gonna try to go over them but I don't have that much time atm so I might be a bit less complete than I normally would be.

 

 

Gruul:

 

Ok, There are some serious problems on this one.

For starters you used Whirlwind 35 times on Gruul.

WW is already a fairly weak ability but it's by far the worst ability for single target that warriors have.

Never, not in a million years, should you use WW on single target as Fury.

Use Wild strike to dump rage but defo NOT WW.

 

Other than that you had some pretty bad timings on Avatar and Recklessness.

Using avatar at the start together with Reck is perfect so keep doing that :)

Avatar has exactly double the CD of Reck, so even with Anger Management that shouldn't change which means that the 1st and 3rd time you use Avatar you should be able to combine it with Recklessness.

After your opener when Avatar comes back off CD (with anger management that should be around 1 minute, maybe a bit more) you should try to use the 2nd one as soon as you get it, because the longer you delay the 2nd avatar the bigger the gap between your 2nd Reck and your 3rd Avatar.

If you use it instantly your 3rd Avatar should line up perfectly with Recklessness which is the ideal situation.

 

Keep in mind that with 4-set Tier Reck gives you increased attack speed and crit chance, combine that with Avatar's 20% damage bonus and you'll turn into a wrecking ball of doom if you can combine the 2 :)

 

Other than that you seem to use Berserker Rage really really late.

Even though it's a good idea to save BR when Avatar is about to come off CD you should really use it the second your enrage buff falls off and BT didn't crit.

There is literally no reason to not be enraged when you have the ability to do something about it.

Again there's an immediately noticeable problem.

I'll include a screenshot to make it a bit clearer.

On this screeny I drew some 6 bars, 1 for every bladestorm.

The yellow bars are bladestorms when you were enraged, the White bars are bladestorms where you were not enraged.

 

 

 

 

Bladestorming while not being enraged is an absolute no-no.

That can never happen.

If you know a moment is coming up where you need to bladestorm try saving your Berserker Rage for that moment.

When the pack beasts spawn, charge, use BT, didn't crit? Berserker Rage and bladestorm.

But bladestorming without being enraged is such a massive waste of DPS it's almost not worth doing it.

To make matters even worse I found 1 instance where you used Recklessness and bladestorm together without being enraged.

 

 

 

 

That really cannot happen :(

Try to avoid that in the future.

Depending on the amount of Mastery you have you're losing out on around 30% of dps in that case. (and 30% of 100k dps bursts is 30k extra dps you could have done by just using Berserker Rage)

 

 

I did notice on most of your logs that not using Berserker Rage is a recurring problem.

You do use it from time to time so you obviously seem to know what it does so do try to keep an eye on it because your enrage up-time on some fights is way too low and is the very source of most of your dps problems.

The same problem as Beastlord on this one it seems.

 

 

 

 

This is another case where you bladestormed with Recklessness without being enraged.

I cannot stress it enough how important it is to keep that enrage up at all times.

It is THE #1 priority above all else at all times always!

You did seem to save your Trinket to combine it with bladestorm though so that's really good ;-)

 

On heroic Thogar I would recommend playing with Anger Management though instead of Ravager as it times better.

You should have a new bladestorm for every pack of adds assuming you dump enough rage.

Just make sure to get enraged before you storm!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alright, I have a million and one things to do atm so I'm going to leave it at this for now.

If you're raiding tonight try paying attention to the enrage and you should see a very noticeable dps increase already.

I didn't realize my timing on Bladestorm and Recklessness were so off. I know Enrage is a problem, I'm not sure how some are getting 90% uptime on it, I get dry spells where bloodthirst just doesnt proc, and then I Berserker Rage and go on another drought. 

 

I'll be raiding tonight see if I can post some better numbers. Thanks for the advice!
