Dexterz 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) I'm still not sure if frost is viable for heroic raids and I'm always wondering why is it still under fire/arcane. According to raidbots (http://www.raidbots....111100000000000), we have like 71k median dps whereas arcane mages have 8k more! Now my question: Is this because frost is really worse than the other two specs or its just because there arent many samples? And if some experienced mage reads this, i would like to know if a dps around 75~80k for my 484 iLvL is acceptable. - My armory: http://us.battle.net...exterz/advanced Thank you Nevermind, just saw this 5.2 patch note Frost Frostbolt now deals 24% more damage, but its debuff no longer increases subsequent Frostbolt damage. Midtcwboy 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) I hope this doesnt mean the debuff is gone completely because loosing damage on ice lances and elemental and the slow effect would really suck if so were looking at a pretty big nerf imo.. -5% x3 -15% from frostbolt, Elemental and Ice lance +24% to frost bolts only. so +6% on frostbolts but big nerf -15% to lances and pet damage. No, no.. It is just going to affect Frostbolt itself as far as I'm concerned.

Midtcwboy 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2012 ah i hope so, we sure need it. hopefully they can look at fixing up some of our glyphs and talents to make them more useful and passive. less is more in my eyes - the less i have to do, the more i benefit
RunicLovePotion 9 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 I think the changes to frostbolt are mostly buffs, because 30% to 25% isn't much of a loss, but it will greatly increase our burst damage in fights with multiple targets or in pvp.

SimC gives 96.8k DPS for your character.
