Are you using the full recommended set of gear? Your Golden FlenseGolden Flense should, in theory, handle most of the resource problems that you have while clearing packs.

I went a little bit out of topic asking Deadset about Shield Bash/Shield Glare build since I'm using it. It is still sinergic with Roland's set, this is why I posted it here. If you check my posts in this thread you'll see.

I see now! I just didn't scroll up all the way. Hopefully everything turned out OK with your resource management!

Yep, but you can also get it through Kanai's Cube.

Hope of Cain

  • 1 Rare item (level 70)
  • 25 Death's Breath
  • 50 Reusable Parts (white material)
  • 50 Arcane Dust (blue material)
  • 50 Veiled Crystal (yellow material)

So, make a few lvl70 2-handed flails at Haedrig, then try your luck at Kulle... Chances are better than playing with Kadala, but it is more expensive.

Ok I will definitely try that thanks. What's a good shield OH I can have? Or is denial the best one? Or can I cube the armor part from denial and have a different shield? The link to my character is in an earlier comment if you'd like to see what my crusader currently has geared, to give further more detailed advice on how to improve wrath generation, survivability and damage. Denial is indeed the best one by far, since it directly boosts your Sweep Attack damage. Definitely worth looking for this one, don't try putting it in the cube.

I would agree with Blainie here, as cubing Denial would also deprive you of a Furnace in the cube, which halves your damage against elites - very painful. The compensation has to be huge in the shield slot, and there is simply no shield that will provide a comparable benefit. Denial is mandatory as your shield, I'm afraid.

I've been reading a lot of these builds. Thanks Deadset! However, is there somewhere that lists what GR levels they are good for? Thanks.

As Damien has said above, all builds have an estimated GRift level that they can reach. Note that these generally refer to group play.

Guest S9 Damage Increase

The damage bonus to sweep attack from the set has been increased significantly for Season 9 which isn't reflected on the page.  It may improve the viability of the set above GRift 80+.

Hi, the Roland set bonus has been increased from 1200% to 2500(?)%. Are you going to update the guide regarding its viability in 80+ GRs?

Wait!  They double the damage of the set bonus, and there are no updates to be made for 2.5.0?  That seems a little like a dismissal without any play testing.  I have run this build since 2.5.0 and it is significantly better than the GR 80 listed.  I'd love to see an updated build for 2.5.0.  Don't get me wrong, I love the resources you provide, and appreciate that your time is limited, but I'd rather see

  • 28 Mar. 2017: Not yet updated for Season 10.

than

  • 28 Mar. 2017: No changes needed for Season 10.

I was just wondering how effective Long Arm of the Law is in this setup, seeing how you hit insanely fast and you could have Laws of Valor up at all times. Would it be better to go for Holy Cause instead? And why not.

Hi Deadset, I am running the Gathering Sweep rune for this build as I am partial to holy damage lol and I just had a couple questions:

I am not running condemn due to the pull from gathering sweep so instead I am currently using Judgement-Debilitate. Are there any bugs or errors with the Debilitate effect? And if so would Shield Glare-Divine Verdict be a better option?

Also, would you happen to know what Crusader abilities proc APD? If I could, I would love to add APD to the build in place of Strongarms, but I'm not sure that there's an ability (aside from Slash-Electrify and Sweep-Trip Attack) that would actually proc the effect. And it doesn't help that there isn't a tool tip :(. And if there isn't another ability, do you know if Wyrdward is capable of proccing APD?

Hey there. A question for Season 11

Why the Lightning belt? Do i Miss something? Nowhere is stated, that the Sweep Attack does Lightning dmg, so Why the belt?

There are no problems with Debilitate to my knowledge; should be a possible variation to the build.

In general, anything that would Stun or Freeze would work, Wyrdward included. Sadly the Crusader doesn't have great many options of proccing the APD. Trip Attack is one of, if not the best - thus the recommendation :)

By selecting the Trip Attack rune, Sweep Attack starts doing Lightning damage.

Alright I've been running this with sub optimal gear and was actually running it even before I had Rolands 6pc as I had found a Golden Flense and cubed it at a lower level.

My question is this; why Akarats? You definitely know your shit and I learned a fair amount reading through this guide but I still don't understand using Akarats. I feel Shield Glare with Divine Verdict is more consistent, powerful, and "on demand". With Rolands 2pc set bonus which reduces the cd on Laws and Defensive skills I feel using a second defensive skill over Akarats is a very strong choice. I'm able to keep Shield Glare up nearly constantly and it also provides a 20% damage buff. If I see an enemy about to use a powerful attack I can use it "on demand" as an interuption. I haven't noticed it being terribly effected by diminishing returns either. I do have the Obsidian ring in my cube slot but I still find Akarats doesn't have enough uptime?

Guest Hello

While Condemn: Vacuum is nice to have, it is technically not mandatory and can be swapped for Provoke: Too Scared to Run to help maintain Aquila Cuirass at the Rift Guardian.

Now that you are replacing the Sweep Attack rune with Blazing Sweep, is there any other part of the setup that will trigger Bane of the Trapped? Or was it simply retained because of the face tanking nature of this build?

In any case, I'd recommend updating that portion of the Gear, Gems, Paragon section, as it can be quite confusing to discuss the Trip Attack rune when it is no longer part of the skill setup.

Bane of the TrappedBane of the Trapped procs off itself thanks to its Rank 25 bonus.

Thanks! The Trip AttackTrip Attack mentions in the Skills and Gear sections will be removed.

I'm working on a crusader this season, and I find interesting choosing Wrathful instead of Finery, specially if you have two or three items with Globe Healing Bonus. I must say that I'm still looking for a pair of Unities.

Blizzard have moved the launch of Season 34 back a week!
While it was supposed to start today, Blizzard cite players not wanting the new D3 and D4 season launches to overlap on the same week, and needing more time to get the season properly set up, as the previous one ended early.
      Season 34 Delay (Source)
      Hi all
We have shifted the start for the new season of Diablo III to next week. This is due to a few items:
We received a good amount of feedback that many didn’t want overlap with the first weekend of Diablo IV’s new season. We agree so we are building out that gap and will be more mindful of that going forward.
This will help us properly ensure account states migrate over as we had an issue with the prior season rolling early and us having to kick things back on.
You can find the exact times on our Season 34 blog.

Blizzard has posted an official preview of Diablo 3's upcoming Season 34 that starts on January 24!
The ongoing Season 33 ends on January 19. Season 34 reintroduces the Light's Calling Season theme, which means players can obtain Angelic Crucibles, consumables that may be used to Sanctify any Legendary item, infusing it randomly with one of three new class-specific powers. Cosmetic rewards for the patch are as follows:
Completing the Season 34 Guarian journey grants the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.
Haedrig's Gift will award you with the following sets in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival For more information about Season 34, check out the official blog post below.

Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 34: Light’s Calling. Starting on January 24 at 5 p.m. PST/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Light’s Calling theme, which first debuted with Season 27. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 33 will officially come to an end on January 19.

      Season Theme
Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.

      Season Cosmetic Rewards
In Season 34, awards originally available from Season 10 are returning. In addition to the Head and Shoulder slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Black Soulstone themed portraits and the scholarly Loremaster pennant first introduced in Season 10.

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic ones for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth alongside the Shades of the Nephalem and complete the Season 34 Guardian Journey to earn the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.

      Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five:
Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete two Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at level 70 in under 15 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Greater Rift keystones can be obtained from any Nephalem Rift guardian. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a level 50+ gem. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top
      Seasonal Conquest
Seasonal Conquests are additional goals you can complete as part of our Season Journey. To earn all the cosmetic rewards, you'll need to complete at least three of the Conquests below. The challenges available in Season 34 include:
Sprinter and Speed Racer task you with completing Acts I through V at max level in under one hour. Want to go fast while killing things? Boss Mode and Worlds Apart are right up your alley. On A Good Day and I Can’t Stop are making a return, if leveling your Legendary Gems is more your thing. Finally, if you’re keen to prove your mastery of various Class Sets, Years of War and Dynasty will be returning along with Masters of the Universe and Masters of Sets. Best of luck! Return to Top
      Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works.
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. In this season, Haedrig's Gift will grant all-new class sets introduced with previous Seasons.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival Return to Top

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.
