rkik 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2015 My guild is going to be starting progression on Mythic Kromag on Monday, and as one of the Unholy DKs in the raid I am expecting to help with the hands phase. I am running NecroBlight, but I was wondering if there are any specific tips/tricks to maximizing my usefulness in this fight. Anfauglith 6 Report post Posted May 29, 2015 Extend NP so that it doesn't drop in the middle of hands phase. Other than that, spam as much Blood Boil as is humanly possible. I use ERW and the Maidens trinket in that phase as well. Since it is progress, you should probably save Gargoyle for the pillars, but that's up to the Raid Leader to decide. Tell your leader to position you in a central rune to maximize your DPS. You should also try and get better gear, because you have almost all the wrong pieces. In regards to the gear, I know it's far from optimal. I pretty much have taken what I get. I do have some better itemized crafted gear, but the strength/ilevel of the mythic gear is better (I assume). My guild stopped farming Heroic about the time I joined, so I haven't had any chances to efficiently get better gear.
Rakrakcity 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2015 Alright so I made an account on this just to help give you more information... Yes extending NP for hands is good but you must keep it rolling throughout the pillar phase (more dps for parsing if you're into that and you'll do a ton, ton, TON more dps on the pillars to get them down so you guys kill the boss). Basically just spam the hell out of Festering Strike until the first hands phase. Use the regular opener (FS (Festering Strike) + SS (Scourge Strike) + DC (Death Coil) + FS + SS + DC + FS + SS + ERW (Empower Rune Weapon) ... and continue) (I also recommend saving AMS [Anti Magic Shield] for the second breath since you'll use ERW when the first is going out). You want NP (Necrotic Plague) to be at a minute duration for when the hands come out. That way during hands all you do is spam BB (Blood Boil) and during pillars you're focusing all your damage on single target burst (spamming SS on pillars like there's no tomorrow) all the while your NP that's on the boss has already moved onto all three pillars! Also for hand placement getting a spot in the middle is actually a DPS loss. You'll want a rune that is right by the boss, that way your BB grabs the NP from the boss as quickly as possible and you proceed to go ham on the buttom smashing. Save Gargoyle for pillars (3min cd on gargoyle and 3min cd on pillars) for the single target - trust me the raid will need it. I also agree that you need much better gear (although understandable that gear can be hard to come by sometimes and we take what we can get ... to a point). On that note the Shoulders are absolutely AWFUL (heroic blackhand would be better for the secondary stats), grab the tier chest (our BiS), get rid of the tank neck, get kromog boots and maiden's cloak. Those would be the most immediate pieces of gear you need to replace but in the long run you should go for 4 piece (even if it's heroic). Just because you have a piece of gear that has higher ilvl doesn't mean it'll give you more dps then a set bonus (majority of armour upgrades give less than .5% increased dps, while our 2pc and 4pc together gives us about a 4% increase). Good luck, hopefully this information helps out a little.
