JaffaArchfiend 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2015 Hi there, I was just wondering something given the recent changes in 6.2... previously I played Demo for PvE and a spattering of PvP, with changing to Afflic depending on the boss fight or situation in the BG... would anyone say that Demo and/or Afflic are still viable for PvP in BG's / Arenas, or is it a case of hop on the Destro wagon if I want to get anywhere? Liarparadox 5 Report post Posted July 2, 2015 Affliction is more than viable in pvp; in bgs it downright destroys; the opposing side is pretty much forced to deal with aff locks asap or get wrecked. So it's doing very well. People are already stacking them in rbgs. I wouldn't be surprised if we see an aff nerf in the coming weeks. What's great in pve isn't always great or as great in pvp. In any case, right now affliction is great in pvp. Demo I don't know tbh. it might be completely fine. I think right now aff is so strong that people tend to just spec into by default at this point. Personally as a very casual and not very skilled pvper I really dislike how Destro plays there (of course that is subjective) however in a raid it rocks on most fights. Yeah Affliction was doing well and even got its DoTs buffed a bit with 6.2. For Demo I haven't really played it much in pvp and not at all since 6.2 but before I did ok with it in BGs. Uzern 1 Report post Posted July 5, 2015 (edited) I'm having lots of fun with Demo. Seems quite versatile and strong but maybe I'm good (unlikely!) or opponents are weak. High sustained damage, big burst, nice defense and mobility, etc. Destro is sort of nice but gets kind of useless if you're focused. If Demo you have better mobility options and can put out nice sustained damage even if defensive and then drop big demon bombs when needed. Aff is probably strong but I find it very boring to play. Liarparadox 5 Report post Posted July 16, 2015 If you're just doing Ashran and random bgs; it's sorta like doing only LFR; it doesn't really matter what you spec into or how you talent. Just do whatever you think is most fun. Don't get me wrong, there are certainly better and worse specs/talents; but these pvp experiences are more often than not filled with people running around with little to no sense of teamwork, ability to CC or do the objectives, on both sides, that it often won't make much of a difference what you choose. But yeah I've used that build; it's a good one. I personally find affliction the most fun in pvp. But I only play casually now. All my pvp friends quit.
