Dangle 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2015 If you check on Wowhead for the damage of Shadow Word Death and Mind Blast you can see that SWD deals 270% of spell power and MD deals 200% of spell power. Not to mention that with Spriest T17 2 set bonus you want to cast MB last right before you cast Devouring Plague so the set bonus will have maximum effect....So why in all the rotations (not only on this site, even noxxic) does it say to cast MB before SWD? If you look at the tooltips in game mine says 28.5k damgae for MB and 24.1k damage for SWD. But this is wrong. Test it yourself in game. My MB always does around 28k damage and SWD always does around 33k and with a longer 8 sec cooldown it should always take priority. Correct me if I'm wrong. Tarazet 144 Report post Posted July 31, 2015 Edit: I am revising my answer to this. The damage that Shadow Word: Death does changes dramatically if you are using the Clarity of Power talent. If you are using this talent, then SW:D should be used ahead of MB when available. If you are using Void Entropy or Auspicious Spirits, then you should use MB ahead of SW:D.
