kekpop 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) Hey ! Do you guys have any tips for a Disc Priest on Tyrant Velhari ? On all the other Citadel bosses, I feel useful and powerful as a Disc Priest, but I struggle with the Tyrant. I looked at the statistics and rankings, and I'm aware that Disc priest is bad on this fight (in term of pure HPS) and is here mostly for the Barrier on Edict, but... Any tips on what to do specifically on this boss ? Not in term of HPS, I know that I wont be able to cope with the other healers. But I feel useless except when I pop my Barrier. I don't really want to top the meter, I don't care, and I know I won't, but I want to know if you have any advice to help the raid as a Disc on this fight. Thank you ! Rixi 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 When we were first learning this boss on heroic during extra hours our disc priest wasn't around (I play holy priest main). I was playing disc in the meantime and some things that made the fight much easier was picking up CoW and rotating it on the tanks (especially during phase 2), also timing archangel usage to pre-shielding the raid before her raid wide damage moves went out. During the last phase she will start to truck the tanks hard as the buff goes up so just spam CoW again on them with PW:S filler to go out every now and then. Brewmonksta 157 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 I Initially was running with CoW but as we have a paladin i switched to WoM. There is a significant HPS increase when using WoM. I also have the Disc 2 piece so using Penance on CD on the tanks and maintaining PW:S was more than enough to keep them alive with the paladin. The other helpful heal is to have a revival for the end of P2 for an insta topup. Having Power Infusion up for P2 so you can continually spam shields to still give the buffer can be the difference between life and death late in the phase. Given the nature of the health pools diminishing over the fight, your shields decide who lives or dies. My guild freaking praises me for being there.... and really you don't use EAA anymore if you've already dropped T17 2pc (I'm wearing T18 2pc and the slots overlap so I can't keep T17). My barrier isn't even remotely why they love me on that fight. It's strictly the CoW's on the tanks constantly going. There's a point just before phase 2 where they would be essentially 1 shot w/o CoW. Shield shield shield and you win. Note that initially I too was distraught about the "meters" (though they don't even matter), until I voiced my concern and the raid lead/tanks laughed at me and called me 'cute' and then described how glorious and almost imperative I really am on that fight. EAA is always to be used as it is a massive HPS gain and is particularly useful for slow melee and tanks with the fire pools and also for a divine aegis in P2. Barrier is magnificent in P2 when there are fonts out and edict is also happening. CoW is great if you dont have a paladin otherwise you are just wasting your resources. Our healing setup is Disc+Paladin+Druid+Shaman. We are not going for CoW in this fight - shielding of all the raid is much more viable in my opinion. There are enough externals for tanks damage in addition to Beacons, shields and HoTs that are constantly rolling. In P2 we are chaining raid CDs for both healing and damage mitigation.
