Mining/Herbalism

So for years and years of playing my mage as a enchanter and tailor i dumped both in favor of Herbalism and Mining.

I just realized as a casual i wasn't really making money on the other two professions cause given my short time alloted to myself of play i coudln't devote the time to it. This way i Queue for a heroic and herb and mine while i wait or while doing daielys or just to pop on for a half hour here and there.....

As far as mining is one ahead to just sell the raw ore or to sell the smelted bars?

Personally, I sell mostly ore, as it is used to make bars or prospect. so I am targeting more buyers. However, it seems some ore is better off turned into bars as it yields a larger profit. I suggest just investigating the prices on your AH and going from there =)
