Unhallowed Essence Multishot Demon Hunter

I only have three pieces of the Unhallowed Essence set: Unsanctified Shoulders, Fiendish Grips, and Unholy Plates.  I'm just having a tough time finding set items that I can actually use.  But my real question is which weapon should I use.  I've been using the Fortress Ballista, but tonight I found a Yang's Recurve.  Which one should I use?  I really like the Ballista so far.

Fortress Ballista vs. Yang's Recurve 1-15-17.jpg

The Yang's EVERY time.  That multishot attacks 50% faster means double attacks.

And it's most definitely end game.  I've cleared up to an 83 on consoles (with the broken NG system and FOV issues, amongst other things).

Multishot is one of the most effective builds for Rifts, Bounties and Gold-Farming. (On Torment XIII)

The only negative point are Greater Rifts. It is quite difficult to get above GR 80, there are other builds which will get you higher (with comparable items and Paragonlevel). But since there isn't any difference in playing GR 10 or GR 40 or GR 80 or GR 100 that isn't much of a problem imo. (And here we are at the down-side of Diablo 3 - Diablo 3 doesn't offer any lategame content, since Greater Rifts are all the same, no matter how high.)

And it is is great build to speed run lower Greater Rifts, this will help you to upgrade your gems.

And rest assured, you can farm Torment XIII without any problems. You will one-hit most of the enemies.

nah it's not that difficult to get over 80 grift.  Trust me on this.  Great ancient gear and augmenting and above paragon 700 and you should be able to do it.  I'm not say it's easy, you have to put in effort, but I have a 100% 80 grift clear rate.  In fact, I can pretty much clear an 82 on a near 100% basis these days too.  83 is still hit and miss, and 84 is a miss so far by a few minutes but I've had very bad rift/monster/density combinations on the 3 times that I've tried to clear an 84.  Including Perdition twice....all other RGs I can handle, he's an instadeath...

IMO Templar is a must have.

Especially with Multishot.

You need someone who draws the mobs (especially elite mobs like Rift-Guardian) and holds them on one position -> Then you can stay way out of range, hit them without being hit and you profit from your legendary Gem.

https://www.icy-veins.com/d3/follower-skills-and-gearing-patch-2-4

WyrdwardWyrdward + Oculus RingOculus Ring are the best rings (as long as you don't use UnityUnity

Enchanting FavorEnchanting Favor is mandatory

Make sure that the items get as much CDR + Attack Speed as possible just as the Guide describes it.

How much Damage your Follower does or how much Toughness he has is absolutly irrelevant.

nah....for your follower, you'll want:

wyrdward, oculus, ess of johan, thunderfury sword and the freeze of deflection shield.

it takes some time to get used to moving into the oculus field, but after a while it becomes 2nd practice.

Also, make sure your templar has the can't die legendary relic.

edit: templar is the best follower because he's melee and draws monsters away from you, unlike the 2 other followers.  The Ess of johan ability will see him vortex the monsters to him on a regular basis, which is nice cos it stops them from going for you, and it clumps them up too, so you can smoke them with multishot.

How exactly does that differ from my post?

I presume you're referring to me?

I added to your excellent post, highlighting that you want thunderfury sword and ess of johan amulet.

yes, I know the link in your post mentions this, but felt it was better to mention it in the post directly.    Hence my reply.

find dawn.  extract the legendary power.  use this in the weapon slot for powers in kanai's cube.

I was thinking to have RRoG, Cindercoat, and Dawn in cube while wearing Visage, Travelers' Pledge + Compass Rose  (Since you get 100% damage increase when you're doing what DH do best, stand still), and Stone of Jordan. (Since SoJ sports +10 Disc., 20% Fire damage, and +% damage against elites.) Thoughts?

I dont think thats going to be viable at all in later GRs, as you'll be constantly shooting, moving, shooting, moving, shooting, moving, to avoid all the incoming damage.

I, personally, use Visage and Wraps(wearing an ancient of the latter with 20% to Fire skills), with Dawn in the weapon slot, with CoE in the ring slot.

I guess you could possibly swap out the Visage from your cube and wear it, and use a different armor item, if you were going to bypass the Focus/Restraint combo.Only reason I would swap out Focus/Restraint, would be to use Unity, shared with my follower, and Then maybe Travelers and Compass. Other than that, I don't think it'd be worth it, but I'd be curious to see how far someone gets while trying it.

These two things together don't really make sense. You can put in a quarter of the effort, get far worse gear and clear an 80 with Impale. By definition of having to farm great gear, augmenting your gear and farming Paragon, it is difficult to clear 80+ in comparison.

You'll need to go to Ruins of Sescheron and find Kanai's Cube.

Definitely not. Sacrificing F+R isn't worth it in the slightest. Once you have rolled Disc on the other items you are wearing, the bonus Disc from SoJ barely makes a difference to your damage. Also, with no CoE, you're basically ruining your entire burst potential. +200% Fire damage is an insane increase when you enter your spam phase.

You will position yourself, grab both F+R buffs, wait for Fire and then hold down your Multishot button. Nothing can compete with that damage output from the MS build possibilities.

You will lose a HUGE amount of damage potential by making these changes.

yeah you can, but that's cos the impale S6 is OP as fcuk and UE MS is vastly underpowered compared to the other top sets...

Used this built in Season 11 so far up to the point where I am not able (despite 1,2mill dps and not that bad items) to speed farm T13 (what t his build is advertised for)...

Luckily I got great items for the impale build and was able to reach GR70 with ease and now I am able to speedfarm t13 nephs (3-4minutes, 8-10 with multishot)... But I don't really enjoy impale for speed farm^^

Based on the guide, Yang's priority is Socket, WD, WD %, Disc and Resource cost.  Point for point, will WD% always beat out adding Discipline from the UE 6-piece bonus?

I have a Yangs with 8% Weapon Dmg and 9 Discipline.  Should I reroll the 8% to 10% or 9 Disc to 12 Discipline?

Anyone has some insight on how additive the DPS from WD% and Disc works?  Thanks!

Go with more discipline.

Say rolling 12 instead of 9 till get you from 82 to 85 total. That gives a dmg increase of 85/82 = 3,7%. It's even more if your total discipline is lower...

Rerolling dmg would be 1,1/1,08=1,9% increase...

Is it also viable to cube an Elusive ring instead of convention of elements? I don't like having something as passive as the convention

I'm currently pushing solo GR, and I was stuck in level 69 until I got an ancient bow. I'm running 70's now but I still feel like I'm lacking some more damage, what can I improve from my build? I guess I just have to upgrade my items to ancient?

Pretty much how it all works in the end yes. You want to keep pushing for ancients and primals so you can augment these later on to max out your damage potential. Also, you can definitly still get a better bow, seems your damage roll was quite low so still lots of things to improve! :)

Before my 2nd Necro died in HC I managed to augment my way to 16.000 Intelligence and it makes a big difference pushing the later GRs!

Why is this still tagged as "mid-tier"? The PTR clearly showed that Multishot is now absolute top-tier for Demon Hunter solo GR pushing. At the very least it shares the top spot with grenades.

It's not top tier. It is an incredibly difficult set to play at the highest GR level (110+) and is far less forgiving than M6. It also desperately needs pylons for 105+ RGs.

Blizzard have moved the launch of Season 34 back a week!
While it was supposed to start today, Blizzard cite players not wanting the new D3 and D4 season launches to overlap on the same week, and needing more time to get the season properly set up, as the previous one ended early.
      Season 34 Delay (Source)
      Hi all
We have shifted the start for the new season of Diablo III to next week. This is due to a few items:
We received a good amount of feedback that many didn’t want overlap with the first weekend of Diablo IV’s new season. We agree so we are building out that gap and will be more mindful of that going forward.
This will help us properly ensure account states migrate over as we had an issue with the prior season rolling early and us having to kick things back on.
You can find the exact times on our Season 34 blog.

Blizzard has posted an official preview of Diablo 3's upcoming Season 34 that starts on January 24!
The ongoing Season 33 ends on January 19. Season 34 reintroduces the Light's Calling Season theme, which means players can obtain Angelic Crucibles, consumables that may be used to Sanctify any Legendary item, infusing it randomly with one of three new class-specific powers. Cosmetic rewards for the patch are as follows:
Completing the Season 34 Guarian journey grants the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.
Haedrig's Gift will award you with the following sets in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival For more information about Season 34, check out the official blog post below.

Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 34: Light’s Calling. Starting on January 24 at 5 p.m. PST/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Light’s Calling theme, which first debuted with Season 27. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 33 will officially come to an end on January 19.

      Season Theme
Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic ones for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth alongside the Shades of the Nephalem and complete the Season 34 Guardian Journey to earn the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.

      Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five:

Sprinter and Speed Racer task you with completing Acts I through V at max level in under one hour. Want to go fast while killing things? Boss Mode and Worlds Apart are right up your alley. On A Good Day and I Can’t Stop are making a return, if leveling your Legendary Gems is more your thing. Finally, if you’re keen to prove your mastery of various Class Sets, Years of War and Dynasty will be returning along with Masters of the Universe and Masters of Sets. Best of luck! Return to Top
      Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works.
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. In this season, Haedrig's Gift will grant all-new class sets introduced with previous Seasons.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival Return to Top

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.
