Hi maybe stupid questions: why Thrill of the Hunt? Isn't that covered with the lvl 25 bonus of Bane of the  trapped?

And is it viable to use a cubed visage of gunes and Vengeance with seethe?

Thx in advance

I'm sure this has been asked before, but is BoW really that much better than EW set?

I still need to get a good Hellfire Amulet with either Steady Aim or Awareness to test things out, but wouldn't this build work well with EW + CoE, and then either Elusive Ring for extra DR or RoRG and Magefists for extra damage?

Or is it not even worth trying? I'm thinking BoW + Steady Aim is definitely going to give the highest damage output, but I figured since EW can give DR and opens up another ring slot it might be useful.

Cubed Visage of Gunes and Vengeance with Seethe I believe is the norm (I thought that's what this guide said too, but I could be wrong) -- it works perfectly though, best way to go imo. The other option is to use Cindercoat cubed, but I much prefer having the extra 50% DR from Visage and Seethe is more than enough for resource management.

As for Thrill of the Hunt, the reason it's used it because you want to be as far away from enemies as possible. Bane of the Trapped only procs itself in close range, so Thrill is used to slow enemies from far away, which procs both Bane of the Trapped and Cull of the Weak, as well as maximizing Zei's Stone of Vengeance (and Steady Aim if you're using it via Hellfire amulet). You could always use Multishot's Wind Chill rune to cover the chill/slow, but it doesn't do anywhere near as much damage as Arsenal or Full Broadside. Wind Chill is good for speed-runs though, which I think this guide mentions also.

I noticed a few changes on the build from as I remember it. It used to be that Shoulders, hands and off-hand had to have Cooldown. But now I see that Area DMG & Attack Speed is preferred now on hands instead (used to be: Dex, CHC, CHD, CDR, AD).

This drops the CDR to have a gap in the Vengeance uptime, which I'd not really like.

Also, I see that Yang's isn't really fully defined anymore. Discipline, Gift for socket, dmg roll and x% dmg and its RCR are, but that leaves out 2 primary stat rolls. 1 Should be Dex, but the other should be Attack Speed or Area dmg, or if crazy Elite dmg % imo

So, what is the reason to up the attack speed with the hands vs Cooldown?

I realize I was quite fortunate with this drop, but is there anything I should reroll on it - at all?

I'm considering replacing the attack speed with +24% area damage or possibly 1000 vitality, third option is to go for more damage against elites.

Any solid advice from you guys?

Is there an alternative to the Convention of the Elements? It appears to provide a bonus five seconds out of thirty. I would prefer a more constant, predictable, and steady effect. The burst mechanic, while useful, has too much randomness for my taste. What other choices might you recommend?

Convention of Elements is AFAIK the best option - and by a big margin.

The burst effect is absolutly huge. Yes, it is only a few seconds, but since the damage spike is huge your average damage / minute increases a lot. Way more then the other alternatives.

And the random factor isn't as severe as you think: If you kill everything in seconds it just doesn't matter.

And if you need 2-3 minutes for the Riftguardian you just cycle several times through your element, it doesn't realy matter if you just got your element 1 second before the rift guardian appeared or not.

Due to a recent rise of bot activity, we had to enable a spam filter that makes any posts with non-whitelisted links hidden by default, requiring a moderator's approval (the link was in the post you quoted). We are still adding new sites to the whitelist, so it's possible that posts with harmless links will get blocked.

Yes, if you roll anything it should be the attack speed for all other stats are perfect to have on it.

The 3 options are:

Attack speed (for the shiny few that try to optimize to an 18 frame attack speed to satisfy the Bane of the Stricken, tho I'm not too aware of what Attack speed you need to have for that)
Area Dmg (sought after for the Broadside  variation of the build or for speed farming)
Life per hit (for GR pushing and have some to keep you alive, but can be on bracers for example)

I doubt Elite dmg is worth it tho, for the progress you can make with the above options can outshine that elite dmg, and won't work on the Rift Guardian.

The best answer I can give you is "probably Crit Damage", but for a precise calculation I highly recommend using d3planner.com. Just import your character and toy around with the amulet stats, it's easy to grasp and an amazing tool, I use it all the time. ?

Can you tell me what passive ability is optimal on the hellfire amulet or was it just the best damage buff with its stats for this build?

I’m using a good Yangs with nice rolled stats but it’s Legacy. I’ve upgraded the quiver but I’m wondering how much I’m gimping my DH without a decent bow upgrade. The best I’ve gotten so far is as per the screenshot. I’d be grateful if someone could tell me.

I still haven't had a better Yangs from a drop or cube. Any answer re the legendary affix loss? or how to calculate it myself.

Thank you in advance.

And becomes even more important with the new patch that is actually live on the PTR.

On those Yang's, Remember that this build seems to use alot of fire. Really those are beautiful rolls already. the only thing i would change is the elemental damage to fire.

also in the build there is this

Weapon
  1. Socket (preferably from Ramaladni's GiftRamaladni's Gift)
  2. Weapon Damage
  3. % Weapon Damage
  4. Max Discipline (Secondary stat)
  5. Resource Cost Reduction

Sorry that is just nonsense. Damage-type of the weapon is completly irrelevant.

Your Yang is an old version, before they buffed it.

And I am not sure if your socket is from a Ramaladnis Gift.

If no: Roll the socket into another stat and bring the socket back using Ramaladnis Gift. -> you have +1 stat on your Yang, that's quite huge.

"Old Version?"  Really?  It's the only version on the PS4.  As far as I can see, it has the new stat:

Old Stat:  Multishot attacks 50% faster

New stat:  Multishot attacks 50% faster and its damage is increased by 150%. (Demon Hunter Only) [150 - 200]%.

I finally got a primal Yang's to drop but noticed that it only had 4 primary stats as compared to a normal yang's that has 5.  Is this a new feature or did I get a bugged drop?  I didn't convert one of the primary stats to a socket, I used Ramaladni's Gift to do that.  I haven't put the Caldesann's Despair on the primal yet either.  I lose about 140K in life with the loss of the +977 Vitality primary stat.  Just curious if anyone else has seen this as well.  On a side note, should I reroll the lightning damage to some other element or just plain damage or just leave it alone?  I'm running a UE build if that makes a difference.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Blizzard have moved the launch of Season 34 back a week!
While it was supposed to start today, Blizzard cite players not wanting the new D3 and D4 season launches to overlap on the same week, and needing more time to get the season properly set up, as the previous one ended early.
      Season 34 Delay (Source)
      Hi all
We have shifted the start for the new season of Diablo III to next week. This is due to a few items:
We received a good amount of feedback that many didn’t want overlap with the first weekend of Diablo IV’s new season. We agree so we are building out that gap and will be more mindful of that going forward.
This will help us properly ensure account states migrate over as we had an issue with the prior season rolling early and us having to kick things back on.
You can find the exact times on our Season 34 blog.

For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 33 will officially come to an end on January 19.

Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.

      Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works.
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. In this season, Haedrig's Gift will grant all-new class sets introduced with previous Seasons.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 34:

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.

Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.
